You know Marina, this line of thought is what informed the really tough decision i made recently. I'm over 40 and changing careers (and continents) because the world is moving so fast, I can hardly keep up. I'm back in school, studying in a totally different industry (from finance to healthcare)and it's a lonely road fraught with uncertainty, anxiety and plenty of second-guessing. I really thank you for this video because it's really validating. I'm learning more and more not to be afraid to think differently and remain true to myself. Handing down values is one of the most critical things we have to do and its not an easy task. But, we have to do what we can right?

Well done Marina, so proud of you. I signed up for a Family/Marriage counselling training in 2021, and ran away without completing it. Reason is that I was not ready for that responsibility because of the nature of my job, and secondly, the challenges in my marriage made me feel inadequate. Regardless, people around me would still come for my unqualified counsel🤒.
Regarding the deep thoughts, since I started adulting, I act in opposite direction of the norm just to see what would happen, and guess what, for the most, I got better results. Especially those norms that our parents forced on us without knowing how it originated.
Please bring the lessons on for dropouts like me to learn.🙂
How can I hug you through my phone? Sometimes, our inadequacies paralyze us, but no even a broken clock is correct twice a day. I hope you reconsider someday when the timing is better for you. All the very best.

Hi Marina! I am your namesake and live in Lagos Nigeria. I wanted to know if you were called Marina growing up in Nigeria because I really get a lot of questions as to why my parents named me that. I am from Benin 🇧🇯 and Marina is a French name but Nigerians really finds it funny that I am named Marina….. I just wanna know what it was like for you growing and attending schools in Nigeria
This is such a beautiful question. It was a struggle for sure. A lot of people still believe that I named myself Marina but no, this is my legal first name as it appears on my birth certificate. I probably should do a story time video about this and share my experience.
