Your videos are great in terms of aesthetics, straight to the point, and informative. Dope.
I am a crazy man, I will run encore just to ensure the trickroom setter will deactivate trickroom, then activate again, but then... deactivate it.
I am not here for success. And this never worked out for me to win, but it doesn't have to. I get the occasional chuckle out of the people I do this to on ladder.
Love that Brute Bonnet is faster than Amoonguss, so it's worse in Trick Room
That's why even the most ofensive teams need at the very least a slow Pokémon
Common Flutter mane movesets include imprison trick room, so basically your team is slow for the rest of the game.
I like the concept of trick room, the issue is Gen 9 made them uninteresting. Quite literally every tr lead is just Indeedee with Armarouge or *maybe* Hatterene with a Torkoal and amoongus in the back. They aren’t teams, they’re Indeedee Armarouge and friends.
My favorite trickroom team rn is ironhands farigiraf lead with usually Amoongus fluttermane in the back.
Wait, using trick room again reverses the effect to make it go back to normal?! I never knew that!
This series is super helpful and concise! Love it 😁
Honestly even without redirection just having something *strong* there is enough of a threat where people will be afraid to double into the TR setter who can probably take a hit sucks when they’ve got taunt though but if necessary a mental herb can just undo that
I find trick room to be very interesting. Like they rely almost entirely on the popular mons being the speedy ones so it may counter them effectively. But a counter can never be more popular than the thing it's countering.
Ah, yes, pivoting around the +1 Glacial Lance after Pelipper got faked out, the strat I like to see the most as a trick room enjoyer
Amogus 😄🤣🤣🤣
Damn dude, you acting a bit sussy 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
thank you this is valuable info for my cold honse
I don’t like using trick room as my main strat but having it around for something that spams tailwind (as would still be faster if I used tailwind too) is a nasty means of speed control
Invalidating or in many cases weaponizing a Pokemon's high speed can be devastating
@@MinkSignal Exactly, protosynthesis speed boosted flutter mane doesn’t get much done if you trick room on it
My favourite thing is to have one or two slow pokémon on the team to steal the room for my own purposes. Doesn't always work, but the golurk sweeps are fun
Another banger, sir
I hate trick room teams so much I have a trick room hatterene and a lot of priority moves only to mess up with trick room teams 😅
My main ladder team in SwSh was Sand Trick. Gigalith is nearly impossible to OHKO with maxed Defenses and hits hard with Body Press. Hatterene was always a pretty reliable TR setter for me with Magic Bounce, Gastrodon to hit on the Special side and eat Water moves, Sand Stream Excadrill to catch opponents expecting full TR off guard and grab an early KO. Fun times
I'm going to be honest, that image of Trickroom with Porygon Z makes me realize I'm disappointed that they didn't make a Future Paradox Porygon
Its not pratical wasteing an item slot but you could also nullify the effects of trick room useing the room service item
Slowbro
I didn't know you could switch it back by using it again
Love the series… hate trickroom. I literally run an espeon with the move just to counteract it.
Annoing hell to fight
I was lucky enough to get an adamant nature shiny golurk in b&w, so as a good trainer would, I transferred him all the way to SV. I use him all the time in double battles.
porygon needs to come bsck
Is there a consensus on what the ideal base speed should be for Pokémon in Trick Room? Like, 60 or less?
60 is the very maximum I would even consider using a Pokemon for Trick room. Below 50 is ideal.
I think how likable Trick Room is for me really depends on the format, but I gotta say, holy shit I hate Indeedee
why not furret as redirect
My favorite doubles team was TR Sun and let me tell you, it was terrible. Mostly because I had no idea what i was doing and didn't change it after the Isle of Armor update
JOKES ON YOU I use corvaknight so I move first!
What
Trick Room is nasty in singles, imo. In National Dex (in Showdown I mean), using TRoom + Teleport Slowbro as a setter, to then bring in your Sheer Force M-Camerupt/ Sheer Force Life Orb Rampardos for free, is simply amazing. Rampardos, while usually considered bad, is for me a top 3 Trick Room sweeper, and it's great to bait Corviknights that think they can wall its mighty Rock Slides because they're neutral hits. The truth is that Full Atk+ SForce LOrb Rampardos has an 86% chance to 2HKO Full HP/Def+ Corviknight with said move, and a 33% if it runs Leftovers, so most of them end up gifting me their physical walls on the switch-ins
u can una trick room to turn trick room off?
Yes, one trick room can cancel another one out
@@brandonoliversosa896 Fair enough, I hadn't thought about it that way
Didn't Regieleki manage to be so fast that it goes first even in trick room thanks to a kink in how it works?
That only happens on super specific conditions
I wish Trick Room was more viable in singles, it's one of my favorite architypes. It's so neat :3
It’s so lame tho
It's by far the most interesting way to play but ok@@viennaawesome6924
oh hi Moxie, the algorhythm decided to conceal you from me for a long time. now here you are :D
Tyranitar is not really used in trickroon I’ve never seen anyone use it or even mention it before
👏👏👏
It's Armarouge, not Armourouge!
Is there a difference
Wait, torkoal is in OU
Vgc video
Does anyone just say "I like this pokemon lets make it work!" anymore? It all seems Uber technical now and I get that but where'd all the fun go from when I was a wee lad?
I'm actually the "let's make this one work" guy
@@MoxieBoosted ah I sees I sees I shall have to check your longer videos for that I assume? I just found you and all I'd seen so far was the meta stuff I think it's called? Idk I'm old. Bought red when it was new but my fave is froslass does that make me a genwunner? Whatever the heck that means I just know it's supposed to be insulting. Anyways I'm rambling tata
@@dustinleftwich680 froslass is pretty viable in competitive so I gotta congratulate you on picking well
@@MoxieBoosted it was my love of myths ngl. Yuki onna in this case
Trick room
Ruins the game tbh😅
