    Miyako is a concert-level classical pianist, and didn't pick up the guitar until she was 18. She is a once-in-a-generation talent. The whole band are insane talents.

      @@pattymeals2395 Yeah, absolutely. And she is playing like it's nothing, so effortless.
      I always wonder, how most of the famous drummers (and I don't doubt their skills in any way) only after a few songs, let alone after a whole concert, look like crap, whereas Haruna almost still looks like having just started. I think, I remember some other reactor mentioning it, it might have something to do with how effective she's working her drum kit. Other than her little stick tricks she doesn't use many of more than necessarily sweeping movements just for show effect, thus saving a lot of energy and being able to play like a clockwork on that high speed level for a whole concert.
      Well, she's really an amazing and insanely talented musician, like all the LOBEBITES band members!
      Happy new year and have a nice Sunday!

    Loved their Live Stream, not practice session, from where this video is. Got up at 4AM just to watch them live. Check their Halloween cover of Eagle Fly Free from the same Live Stream. - bass and drums solo.
    That's my girl Miyako, she is by far the best musician out there. You are correct, Miyako is a classical pianist, though Asami (singer) and Midori (guitar) are also. They are all multi-instrumentalists, amazing group - best group out there. Miyako said that she chose Metal because it is the closest to classical music, and she's right about it and you can feel it in many of their songs.
    I also got up at 4AM to watch Scandal, Nemophila (twice) and Band-Maid ... can't get enough of Japanese all female bands and their musical talents.

    This wasn't a practice session, not even close. This was a live concert in the studio that was a paid stream. It was done to celebrate their 3rd anniversary as a band, with them playing their debute album live in the studio start to finish. They later sold it as a DVD/Blu-ray for a limited time(with a bonus track, a cover of Helloween's Eagle Fly Free that didn't air with the original concert stream). Also, they sing 100% in English, there was no Japanese at all.

      @smittycal  Před 3 lety +2

      Then that makes a lot or sense lol. I was wondering why they were dressed up for a show. I was thinking it was because they knew it was being recorded.
      Thanks for the clarity.
      And its probably my ears that arent used to them yet. Either way im probably going to start having lyrics on standby lol

    Nice reaction. Just a note, this isn't a "training/practice session" this was a live show for fans that was a worldwide paid broadcast. (here on the west coast of the US it was broadcast around 1 or 2am I think...) It was later sold as a made-to-order blu-ray/dvd, that's why they're set up the way they are and are all dressed so nicely (they usually always wear white costumes as well on stage) with spotlights on each of them.. hehe.

      @Glynthepin Před 3 lety +3

      Glad you mentioned this. I do not remember the first song I heard from this broadcast and DVD but I thought it sounded extremely polished, even for Lovebites. Now I have heard the cover version they performed of Helloween's 'Eagle Fly Free' it confirmed my suspicion that backing has been used and for the DVD, post production. No criticism though.

    • @hans_Mustermann5000
      @hans_Mustermann5000 Před 3 lety

      @@Glynthepin I just don't understand the words "suspicion" and "extremely polished" in this context. ;-)
      It was exactly what was announced, a studio live performance, and what I was hoping to expect regarding the usual outstanding quality level of LOVEBITES.
      I saw the original livestream with my really good headphones on and it blew me completely away, how the just walked in, took their instruments, no bullshit or bla bla or clowning around ... just BOOM ... starting with "The Awakening" and "The Hammer of Wrath", followed by an hour of constant awesomeness and eargasms for me. And that didn't sound "extremly polished" at all, they simply played out their literally perfect skills. Together with the also perfect studio conditions they just managed to pull this off thus just perfectly. After the ending of the livestream my thoughts immediately were, if there already wasn't the CD version of "Awakening from Abyss", they simply could release this "Awake Again" studio live instead. From what I've heard and enjoyed during that livestream there's is no need for further "polishing" or "post production" regarding the sound quality, they already nailed it.
      Somehow I don't get it ... are they supposed to play intentionally sloppy or less perfect just to create some "live vibe" or proof of playing live?
      BTW, of course they used some backing keybord effects and sounds during this studio live performance like they always do also in their concerts, because they - thanks God - don't have a keyborder as 6th band member (and they don't need one, because they already have Miyako ;-)).
      Now I'm waiting for my "Awake Again" Blu-Ray, it got stuck at a customs office. I plan to get it next week as soon as posssible. One thing though, I would like them to have "polished" the Blu-Ray/DVD with English subtitles, but I'm afraid that won't be the case again (it also wasn't with the "Five of A Kind" one).
      Happy new year and CU around! :-)

      @@hans_Mustermann5000 Hello there, thank you for that information. As you may of guessed, I did not have all the facts about the broadcast. I knew it was going to happen but did not see it. Pleases help with this, why were they not wearing headphones or did they have in ear monitors?

    Maybe it's just me, but this song really gives me a strong classic Judas Priest vibe (whereas most of their material strongly reminds me of Helloween). I know Midori cites Judas Priest (and Angra) as some of her major influences, but this is the first one that I've really heard that Priest influence coming through!
