Yes, it certainly left me speechless the first time I watched this. As you have just seen, Miyako (mi-YAH-ko) is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano. She also composed & arranged "Swan Song" which is a creatively blended speed-power/neoclassical metal masterpiece. You can hear motifs from Romantic-era composers Chopin (intro, main riff, solo) and Dvořák (chorus) throughout the song. Every member of this band has insane talent and practice that talent till it is perfect especially when done LIVE. However, Miyako is something else there is nothing this woman can't do musically. Her YT channel will give you her true personality (gear nerd, Star Wars fanatic, etc....). Here is another epic masterpiece from the band. Remember Miyako's genius brain may come up with this but she still needs her insanely talented band-mates to be able to perform it. Happy Birthday to the Golden Touch member of the most insanely talented band performing LIVE.

Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. "Etude" is French for "study". Chopin's Etudes were written as "studies", or lessons, for his students. They ended up being popular things for professional pianists to play as part of their concerts, in part to show off their skills. This is one of the more famous ones and is considered one of the most difficult ones. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as her stated favorite, Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor), with a passage by Rachmaninoff as the outro. For this performance, she actually played the Etude as the intro, but it’s not normally included in their shows.
This song, for both its music AND lyrics, got me into this divine band and haven't looked back again since. I have my tickets for Milan and Paris. We all are going to have a blast my friend. Greetings from Greece.

I feel the same way you do, thinking about what I will witness in Atlanta in September. I've been to a lot of concerts wince my first in 1979. I'm a metalhead, period. Lovebites appeals to me by combining so many different aspects of metal I've heard in 50+ years. To me, there has never been a greater band, nor a greater dual lead guitar attack. Ever. And Miyako is a treasure, my now favorite musician ever. This song is a masterpiece of hers.
I have been into rock/metal since the 1960's and have seen too many bands to list here, but include many (most) of the greats from the period. Up until now, if asked 'what is the best gig you've ever been to' I would without hesitation have said Rush at Wembley Arena London in 1983. 2 hours of sheer musical genius, but, I have a strong suspicion that next June, at a small venue in south London, I'm going to have a new Best ! If someone had said to me, even 4 years ago, that I would be regarding 5 petite Japanese ladies as the best metal band I've ever heard, I would not have believed them, but I do ! I'm so happy that I have lived long enough to be able to enjoy this band.

The Chopin piece Miyako (guitar/keyboards) is playing in the intro is "Etude OP10, No. 12" known as the "Revolutionary Etude."
In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was called the "November Revolution" but ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agent presented "Etude OP10, No. 12" in Paris. Because of the agent's exaggerated publicity, people called this piece "Revolutionary Etude.
Miyako composed "Swan Song" based on this "Revolutionary Etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony.
Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude" and inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake.
"SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES could complete.
Anyone who doesn't feel that outro in their soul doesn't appreciate music in its purest form (regardless of genre). I listen to thrash metal 90% of the time but that ending gets me every time and it NEVER gets old. I could watch Miyako do anything on repeat and be totally happy. She IS the 8th Wonder of the World in my music world. This song is a F MASTERPIECE, thank you for doing it. 🤘

Every time I see this video I can’t help but think this is my favorite Lovebites song - the lyrics, the main riff and the solo section is perfection. Of course the next LB song I hear might give me the same thoughts, but Swan Song is close to perfection! 🤘🎸🐺

Great reaction. Yes, Asami is a female Bruce Dickinson and Lovebites is a female Iron Maiden advanced version. You sound like saying Miyoko but her name is Miyako, but again Miyoko is very common girl's name in Japan outnumbers Miyako.

If you haven't done so yet, give the live versions of A Frozen Serenade and Edge of the World a listen. Both demonstrate that Lovebites are far more than a run of the mill metal band. It's hard to find a bad song from them, I know I haven't yet in the 3 years since I found them.

I’ll try and seek you out at the New Cross Inn in June. Lucky me will then be jetting out to Lindau (via Zurich), across the Alps to Milan and then to Paris for 3 of the next four gigs of the tour. Nudger, I have seen the band four times already and I can promise you that you have a ticket for the best concert of your entire life. You might like the band now, but you’ll be in love with every single one of them by the time it’s over.
Asami isn’t pronounced how you pronounce it (Asarmy] it’s a hard “A” in the middle of the name (so you pronounce the two “A’s the same). No, I’m not showing off, I pronounced it just like you until I was corrected by none other than Miyako when I was lucky enough to literally bump into her in the street in Osaka. Corrected politely of course…she just said the name after I did, and I got the message!
Miyako is not only fantastic, she is Goddess of music.😃

.The end of that piano was related to Poland's failed uprising resulting so many Polish death. Poland went on to gain independance finally.
