Here some information about the band:
LOVEBITES are around since 2016 and their first EP and album came out in 2017. At this point they have already released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.

Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
Has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, also she is a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, she loves her pets and Star Wars
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, does songwriting for a few songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Best drummer in the universe (IMO), wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3, also the band was Miho‘s idea, she and Haruna were the founding members!

Lovebites is among the best bands to come out of Japan. Phenomenal musicians and one of the rare Japanese bands who sings all of their songs in English. Amazing talent and their songs really captivate you if you love heavy metal. They also do thrash metal and softer stuff too. They can play several styles of heavy metal and rock music. This video shows their original bass player who left the band in 2021. They have a new bass player now so if you see any videos from 2022 or newer, she will be in it. There are a bunch of terrific all female groups out of Japan right now. You're in for a treat if you keep investigating. You've heard the best power metal band but you might be interested in my favorite hard rock band, BAND MAID. Watch DON'T YOU TELL ME official live from Yokahama Arena and you'll get a taste of them. There's also Nemphila, Alldious, Gacharic Spin and a group of others plus some Korean bands that are all female. They're reviving rock and metal over there. if you do continue with LOVEBITES you will be saying holy crap every time. each song - 65 or so - is this good and better and they write all of their music. the 2 guitarists - midori and miyako - are the most spectacular guitar duo to come along in over 30 years imo and will melt you every time with their individual and combined solos in every song. drummer haruna is an unstoppable machine along with bassist miho. miho left the band in 2021 and the new bassist is fami - a 21 year old phenom. and to round things out vocalist asami got her start as a soul and r+b singer and her operatic voice goes perfectly with the style of music that they play. best band out there now and for the last 7 years.

Even though it’s an MV, you’ve just witnessed greatness. It’s so common that people reacting to Lovebites for the first time get speechless and stunned. Yes, these Japanese women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile proficient musicians. Some people say that they’re redefining metal, or that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene, or that they’re angels who came to planet Earth in order to save metal music. They really shine in their live performances. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just seven years. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist, trained since 3 years old. In an interview, Miho (exbassist and founder of the band) said in an interview that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Their main influences are Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween, Deep Purple, Slayer, Dragonforce, Yngwie Malmsteen, Angra, Gary Moore, etc., but they have been developing their own unique style. My next recommendations are “The Hammer of wrath”, “Judgement Day”, “Set the world on fire”, “Break the wall”, “Thunder vengeance”, “Shadowmaker”, “Above the Black Sea”, “When destinies align”. For a softer side of them: “Chopin etude + Swan song”, “Empty daydream”, “Edge of the world”, “Epilogue”, “Liar”, “A frozen serenade”, “Spellbound”, “Dancing with the devil” (all live)

They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal,hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They have an official fan club on their website, but you will need to translate each page to read it since it is all in Japanese. Most browsers have translators built into them if you know how to use them. It also requires a monthly subscription fee of about $3 per month. Honestly wait till you see a live video. Best metal band to come along in decades. The 2 guitarists (Midori & Miyako) are among the best duos I've heard since the 80's. They truly are elite musicians.. Dive deeper. They are incredible. The Japanese metal/rock scene is currently showing up everyone else. The U.S. & The English may have been the originators of metal & rock, but the Japanese are perfecting it (Especially the all female gtoups)
All of these female metal bands have been so refreshing I’m so glad I started this channel or I would’ve never found all these wonderful bands 🤘🏻❤️🎶

@@purplebutterflywithabrokenwing yes besides Lovebites Japan has a huge list of quality all female bands from metal to rock to you name it some groups include female led bands like Unlucky Morpheus,and Asterism we all female bands like Show-Ya who has been around a long time to Aldious,Mary's Blood,Band Maid who like lovebites has a huge following and is more hard rock than metal,Nemophila has a gal that can sing and also screech vocals,Gacharic Spin is more fusion rock with funk, Punk would be Fates Gear, Hanabe and Bridear also have huge followings.
Lovebites is the best Female Heavy/Power Metal in the world and perhaps also the best Heavy/Power Metal that is dominated by male groups at least in this era. Because in the past 10 years I haven't seen any new bands that carry this genre and Lovebites is only 8 years old. This genre in most countries was dead and they brought it back to life. They can be heavy, speed, trash, progressive and even happy metal lol.

I discovered this band about 3 years ago though a friends recommendation. When I first looked for them on CZcams and saw the thumbnails I was dubious to say the least, however gave them a go and chose to listen to what was then the most recent video on their channel, Winds of Transylvania. I felt I had been hit by a train. I have been listening to rock/metal for 60 years, right from the start of it all. I truly think Lovebites are one of the best, if not the best band I have ever heard. They have revived this old mans love of metal, so much so that I have managed to score a ticket for a gig they are playing in London next June. I'm as excited to be going to see them play live as I was the classic metal bands from the 70's and 80's. Their back catalogue of songs is well worth diving into. If you find a bad one, please let me know, because I haven't so far 😄 For starters I recommend Frozen Serenade, but I'm pretty sure whatever you choose you will like it.

At the risk of repeating other comments, here is a brief history of the band and this song. In 2016, after the band Destrose ended, Miho, who had been the bassist for Destrose, decided to form a new band based on old school 1980's New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). She immediately brought in Haruna who had been a drummer in Destrose. Those two recruited the guitarists Midori and Miyako (Miyako was in another band so she initially was considered a support guitarist). Miho wanted her new band to sing in English, again because of her love of the NWOBHM. Asami was a Soul/R&B singer who had a great deal of experience singing in English. One of the songs she practiced singing before auditioning was Love Bites (So Do I) by Halestorm. Asami demonstrated that she could not only sing in English but she was a first class belter in the tradition of many of the singers in the NWOBHM like Bruce Dickenson of Iron Maiden. Asami got the job as vocalist and the group decided to name themselves Lovebites, after the Halestorm song.
Miyako was the only member experienced in composing. Another experienced composer named Mao was brought in to help with the composing. Mao had been the keyboardist and songwriter in a power metal band called Light Bringer. Miho, Asami and Midori worked with Mao in composing songs, while Miyako, for the most part, composed her songs alone. While touring in Europe, Midori would visit churches and discovered an appreciation for Christian hymns. With that inspiration, Midori and Mao composed the music for Glory To The World. Asami wrote the lyrics with the intent to spread hope during the dark days of the pandemic. The music video has so many views because it did strike a chord with people in early 2021 and beyond. The church location of the music video has been used by several Japanese bands.
If you want to start at the beginning with Lovebites, I suggest the song The Hammer of Wrath composed by Miho and Mao and is the first song on their first full album. This video of a live performance from last year is important because it is the first song of the first concert for the new bassist, Fami. Again at the risk of repeating info already in the comments, Lovebites will be making their US debut this September in Atlanta at ProgPower 2024. ProgPower is a 4 day event that brings together Prog and Power Metal bands from around the world. Lovebites is playing a 90 minute set on the 3rd day and they are the 5th band of the day out of 6. Tickets for the 3rd and 4th day (which had to be purchased as a package) sold out in a day. I am traveling more than 1000 miles from Texas to Atlanta to attend days 2,3 and 4. There is a good chance that after ProgPower, Lovebites will start their first US tour.

The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".

Yup, that's pretty much the reaction to hearing Lovebites for the first time. Same for me.
At 38 Lovebites are the first time I have had a favourite band. Before that it was always pretty tied between multiple bands like Skynyrd, Zeppelin, Purple and multiple others.
However it's just a numbers game. Lovebites have about 40 songs I absolutely love. No other band comes close to having that many tracks that I would put in my "top songs" playlist, and they have done it in about 7 years, somehow.
As others have said live is even better, and there are so so many song options. I will suggest a few below that cover the variety they have as they do multiple subgenres of metal. These suggestions are a good cross section.

Nemophila is an amazing super group, made up of members from a bunch of other bands.. There is litterally nothing these Ladies can't do.. Aldious is the first successful Japanese all female metal band of the 2000's, Pioneers if you like. Loads of great songs, sadly they have lost 3 singers due to health issues and last week their drummer also due to health issues.. But there are still many of their songs available to react to and enjoy.. Reincarnation is an Accoustic guitar/violin full on metal song masterpiece rounded out with the haunting silky smooth voice of Re/No, thier most popular singer.. You have to watch this one.. It will move you

Some bands are better live, and this is one of them! Never, ever, ever make the mistake of believing they can't recreate one of their songs live. They may use some synth tracks, maybe background vocals, but that's it. They are literally that good!

Japan has a lot of all-women bands. While Japan in general has a poor rating on gender equality, everybody gets musical training in school and there are after-school music clubs. You can't go wrong with Band-Maid, Hanabie, Lovebites and Nemophila. But also Aldious, Fate Gear, Scandal, Show-ya and Trident.
For mixed gender bands check out Asterism, Glim Spanky, Unlucky Morpheus, and Saisega. All male bands: Loudness, One OK Rock, Coldrain, Man on a Mission, Paledusk. The amount of talent in Japan is remarkable.
