    Hi
    This car came to me nearly 1 year ago...
    Came running very poorly, no power at all, no acceleration, and smoking really a lot!
    The car was supposed to come back to do other stuff, so I kept the clips to then carry on recording...
    But the car never came back, and I have a feeling that it has been scrapped...
    Here, I leave you with the diagnosis of what was causing the problem...
    Which is a bit common on these engines...
    Hope you enjoy the video.

      Only if you don't look after them snd change oil 4 times a year and do oil pump conversion to a 1.9 tdi otherwise they're brilliant and bulletproof. Best model they ever built the 1.9+2.0 tdi. Just fools run them into the ground.

    If it was just one roller that came out you might think it was an "accident", but the fact that there's at least 2 of them points to something else. I suppose the obvious conclusion would be a timing belt that jumped a few teeth, or an oil/pump problem.
    If it was an incorrectly fitted timing belt then it would likely have been spotted soon afterwards and taken back to the person who fitted it.

    Luís, could this car had an over rev situation? Is there an OBD code for that? Is it possible to use the MaxiSys to check this situation from the past? Are over rev situations recorded in the ECU?

    I am having the same problem with my A6 2007 2 litre TDI with BRE engine. I am hoping it is not any lose roller in the engine. I have had the turbo fixed and lots of other new parts on the intake system fitted (myself). Funny thing with mine is that a few weeks ago it was working ok when i put the repaired turbo on, black smoke had gone and it was running fine, revved to 4000 RPM plus, but then a week atferwards the black smoke returned and wouldnt go passed 2000 RPM. I am thinking its the PCV valve at fault.😪

    Top diagnostics Luis. When I read 2.0 TDI in the description and heard you say 2007, I immediately thought of oil starvation - a very common problem on these due to the oil pump suddenly stopping working, caused by a snapped hexagon shaft driving it from the crankshaft. Could oil starvation have killed the tappets and destroyed the valves?

      @pedroneves8288 Před 2 lety +3

      I had the exact same problem from a 2009 2.0 TDI (170 Cv). The oil pump failed due to that silly hollow hexagon design and, almost instantaneously, the turbo. The problem is that the car information system gives a misleading warning message to the driver and you carry on driving after a simple and inconclusive oil level check.

    Does anyone have an idea what this could be?
    Ive a6 c6 2.0tdi, 175bhp version.
    When started first thing (cold engine) it works absolutely fine, sounds fine.
    Once it starts getting close to working temp, and on working temp, sounds rattly and is interminently shaky on idle.
    Whilst driving, car pulls completely fine, no smoke, nothing else wrong with it.

      Im dealing with pd170, same symptoms. Checked and adjusted my cam torsion (intake and exhaust cams) intake being at 0.0 and exhaust side you measure consumption on idle/warm.. should be at 0.4l/h to 0.6l/h. My injector 2 is firing 1.5mg fuel compared to others at -0.3mg. In my case I will be changing seals on injectors.. cleaning the nozzles and finally adjusting rocker arm nuts on top of injectors. At last readjust cam timing and chsnge cambelt.
      I recommend vcds or obdeleven obd reader to check the cam torsion - page 04, fuel injectors are on page 13 and consumption is on 15.
      Let me know if this helps and if you solve it.. I'm interested what it could be on yours

    • @thepio14343SWEG
      @thepio14343SWEG Před rokem +1

      Also could be egr or dpf if you still have them turned on.. I'd start with diagnosing those.

    • @thepio14343SWEG
      @thepio14343SWEG Před rokem +1

      As a little update, I did 5 runs with intake torsion adjustments.. turns out +1.09 torsion is best for my engine.. at 37mpg.
      I have set back the fuel pump cam back bit by bit and at one point heard slight knocking.. I am assuming rocker arm nuts need an adjustment or like stated before a dripping injector which I will look into when I receive the seals.
