Great video Dave , as always attention to detail is given , your thumb pressure tool was brilliant on the leak off pipes listening for the click when it seated in place 👍👍👍👍
Had me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the bolt to snap and the relief when you said stretch bolts. Really informative video as usual.
Same 😂
Good job Dave!!
Great video. I've the same job to do on a 2.0 tdi tiguan next week. Some great tips. 👍
Good job Dave that’s exactly what i need done on my car i also have blow back 👏👍
Nice one Dave when I seen you tighten the bolts at the start I was thinking F sakes that’s a lot of torque , then when it came back and you said stretch bolts , … lol made sense , (1 use only ) …. As per usual Dave 👍
As always, an informative video, Dave.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video. Love the care and attention on this job Dave. Surprised it started as quickly as it did. Car is B8.5 facelift. You can tell as it has horizontal front fogs, compared to B8 round ones.
Thanks 👍
Great video
I had a customer one time who drove it like that to the garage, 2 injectors were jumping like mad. In my opinion injector washers should be replaced as precautions as the always go. I've replaced them on my a4 at 90k and you could see a lot of wear on them. Good job as always.
Thanks!!!!Good info,GOD bless you!!!!!
Always learn something 🖖
Great video dave only done one recently myself managed to drop the copper washer in the head just my luck 🤣 lucky I did the other injector bolt was only finger tight also this seems to be a fairly common problem in them done a good few recently. I think I'll be recommending doing all 4 seals and o rings snd and 2 bolts anymore. Also got a part number for the wee caps you used to blank the injectors
Thanks u have solved my problem 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
That's good timing. I've got to do the same job on a Q5 this week. Looked at it last week and 2 of the injectors were moving with clamp bolt loose. Strange thing is I had fault code for low fuel pressure P0087 and flashing coil light. Code only went after tightening clamp bolt. Doing all four o-rings, copper washers, bolts and cam cover seals. TPS £120 😯. Great video, cheers 👍
i have the same problem without doing anything , did you get it fixed ?
i have change the HPFP and LPFP still same problem low fuel pressure P0087 and flashing coil light. but my is only push hard on gas will pop up this error
when smooth drive uner 2k RPM no
@@hi0896 can't help I'm afraid but mine was fixed with the injector seals. A couple were in a bad way. Really burnt up.
Would love to know why this happens?? Had a couple like that now. Last one at the turn of the year pushed #4 injector out so far that the high pressure pipe was pulled almost straight and the tip of the injector nozzle had fouled on a cam lobe. Thread was pulled out of the head too. The clamp bolt looked slightly stretched in the threaded portion and I wondered if a previous repairer had recycled the clamp bolt?? It had likely been apart as the polystyrene cover was missing. Still, one of these where you can never be certain about the cause. Was shouting stop-stop at my iPad when your torque elbow was tightening the original bolt 😜. Had a wee smile too at your paint mark on the bolt head: that’s exactly what I did when I finished the repairs. Asked the owner to have a wee squint at them from time to time. Top job as always Dave 👍
Yeah Russell, i think it's all just a single M6 thread holding 2 injectors. Not enough clamping force. Also the copper seals are thinner and small diameter than typical seals in other cars. As the seal perishes there can be fractional movement. Just my immediate thoughts compared to other makes.
Is there a small o ring on the tip of fuel return line ?
Hi Dave,
Great vids as always.
I have the CAHA 2.0tdi in my A5 thats sat in a local audi specialist garage at the min.
I had erratic idle (surging) and misfires under 2k rpm. Fuel pressure all over the shot.
Car was running when I dropped it off but since they've looked at the car and unplugged various sensors my car no longer starts and they are suspecting HPFP failure. They said pressure is too low in the rail to start but then later on they checked and it was higher?
No metal swarf under the fuel regulator either, injectors are fine (according to them).
I'm suspecting its a faulty relief valve? I've ordered a complete used rail with both sensors to the garage for them to test before we go down an expensive pump replacement.
Any pointers as the guy working on my car doesn't seem super thorough on what he's done and I don't get how it ran fine with the fault but now it doesn't!
What would you be checking to rule out the various sensors and then the pump?
Cheers!
Another top job dave, i just wish you had more Volvo D5 customers come in for jobs
Agreed! Great job Dave! :) @charlie oscar check out BigTallTim's channel - he pretty much only works on volvo D5's on p2 chasseys!
@@beardybob3814 Nice one bob. Thank you.
same car, on uphill (idle position / zero speed) ignition turns off when trying to accelerate!.... CVT multitronic but really great shifting on normal levels, even uphill it can make it but i need yo push to the limits, any thoughts please ?
Is it ok if the injector plug started rotating little bit.
i like the little blanking nuts for the fuel rail . are there in the amazon store
yes
Great video @12:50 how does the combustion gas get back in engine is it through valves?
under the rocker cover
I wonder did the copper washer just flatten over time due to heat & vibration, then in turn the retaining bolt come loose 🤔
All very interesting and informative, thanks Dave
Yeah Peter, I'm thinking along those lines too. I've recommended cyl 3 and 4 to be resealed and new bolt. Guy is a regular so do it next service. Similar case to the d4d i mentioned.
Olá qual é o a perto dos injetores amigo para fazer uma limpeza
hello, I changed 2 injectors and it no longer wants to start, I wrote the injectors, I checked if fuel comes on the ramp and everything is ok, could you tell me what the problem would be?
Dave, can you share where you got the shop manual from? Need one for a 2012 TDI, CJAA motor.
They are all over ebay in cd
@@the_retired_mechanic thx my friend. Bought one few months ago. Most information blanked. Looking for a reliable source for CJAA motor.
I have the volvoists shouting "YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE HIGH PRESSURE LINES!"
If they dont leak, then why? Lucky catching those injectors. at least they unstuck themselves for you!
Dave what's your opinion on dropping the new copper washer down a thin screwdriver onto the seat and aline it with hole then putting injectors in. Hence no sticking grease required?
My opinion is, that's a daft idea
@@davesterl why Dave?
@@the_retired_mechanic more trouble than it’s worth. A dab of red grease between the injector and the copper seal/washer, job done.
It would be foolish to even contemplate a risk of dropping a small component, especially non-magnetic, into the valvetrain or becoming jammed wrongly orientated into the deep recess potentially giving headache, more components to be removed to retrieve it and adding time to the job due to your own stupidity. Every professional person in any discipline makes decisions based on risk mitigation and time, trouble and effort against magnitude of reward. There is no realistic decision making required here and when a solution is very simple makes it a daft idea
I have the same b8 tdi... the engine seems tho shake intermitently. Is this common?
does it shake more when cold, have the same problem but diagnostic shows that the 1st injector is going crazy with values, so i plan to change it..
@@silverify mine can be anytime. But its not a big deal more of an annoyance
Same here on when idle though...
Never use stretchbolts twice 🙈
Who did that?
Am here 1st
don't do 270 degrees, it should be 180 degrees
Nope, if you're getting that from Auto data it's wrong
Amazing video, what is the document you were going through, can you pls share the link? Id like to read it, ta.
