    The written apology was the second most entertaining bit in this video production. The sweet man-hug was hilarious!!! You dudes are awesome!

      Thanks Brandon, I don’t know how smart I am but I do work hard at trying to build a really good airplane and also to fly it as good as I can. 😊

  • @buschpilotsinternational5656

    This series is great! I think it’s just about time to get an order in and see about building one with all the secret sauce. 😁

    Can you go into some detail about why you chose the Highlander instead of the SuperSTOL?

    you can get r/c airplane aileron stock and cut the edge off then slide it in and epoxy it. that way its a lot more solid edge. get that aileron stock at a hobby shopp and comes in different width and sizes. make a good filler

    One would think Just Aircraft would have sorted some of these changes for you at the factory especially as your on there team and i guess sales rocketed with your achievements.

    • @FingerJam12
      @FingerJam12 Před rokem

      Yea, I personally wouldn't care I'd have made them changes. Awesome to know thin wood and epoxy hold up so well. Kinda funny to me how the fuselage has all those braces and chromoly metal yet the wings have thin wood and epoxy. Idk, maybe for the flex. Makes me feel better about the way I plan to do it. Love this plane tho. Nice.

    Thanks for doing this build series. I built a Highlander some years ago and the manual was severely lacking. Most people are visual learners anyhow and this will aid others in building a higher quality aircraft.

    Clamp tank holders to tank, then glue assembly to spar. After glue sets, remove tank. Tank holders should stick to spar. Drill holes into spar & rivet. How about filming Hal in his shop a bit?

    • @SteveHenry
      @SteveHenry  Před 2 lety +1

      That’s a great idea you have for installing the tanks! I will do it that way next time!

    ? When you drop that new edge into the stream does that not increase/decrease/or no effect; the yaw over the standard curved leading edge? P.S. Have you checked your DNA? Are you sure you are NOT related to Orville or Wilbur?

    Hello Steve, You are using a MIG welder, is that just for TACKING then do you go back and TIG weld all of them??

    • @SteveHenry
      @SteveHenry  Před 2 lety

      We always use tig on aluminum and stainless. On 4130 some things we tig and some things we use mig.

    Steve you said that your header tanks are $750 each. Do you make them inhouse? Cutting the Aluminum and TiG welding them. about 1.5 to 2 hours each I would guess.

    • @SteveHenry
      @SteveHenry  Před 2 lety +1

      If you could build one of these tanks in two hours you’re a whole lot faster than we are!
