Trains at Barnetby Tuesday 3rd March 1992 ' Warts and All'

A Warts and All look at freight and loco movements around Barnetby on the afternoon of Tuesday 3rd March 1992.
Sadly the original 8mm tapes were recorded over after transfer to VHS so a slight loss of quality is apparent.
The footage is at times shaky, unlevel and suffers from poor focusing.
However, it remains a nostalgic look into a bygone era.
Details of workings were difficult to come by at the time
and can't be confirmed so have been mostly omitted.

I agree. Bloody good just about sums it up. For 1992 technology and device quality, plus transfer from 8mm to VHS and then upload to digital format, I think the results are something to be proud of. Certainly enjoyed watching and remembering what this area used to look, sound and feel like. And I'm a Southern Region Central division boy!

Thanks for your kind comments Geoff. It was a good camera that one but unfortunately borrowed so only had use of it for around 18 months and always played second fiddle to taking stills - hence some shots being spoilt by trying to multitask. It also took me a while to realise the auto focus wasn't so good and a tripod a must - Regardless, the footage brings back many fond memories of better times on the railway!

Seems strange seeing it with buildings on the platforms, rather than the totally inadequate bus shelters they have today. Also it's lost all its character since the semaphores were replaced.

Agree David - quite sad visiting there now - the worst thing being the vegetation growth - all you can see is bushes and saplings looking towards Wrawby Jnc with the box almost hidden. Thanks for watching.
