She took back her power and her soul. Showed him she is the one in charge of her life. He brought his mistresses to that house where she made the video? Speaks volumes about him, and says NOTHING about Miley. He will be forgotten one day, but Miley's name is written down in history. You can love yourself better, Miley, and we love you too.

This song was released on January 13 which is her ex husband’s Liam Hemsworth birthday. The song is also a direct response to Bruno Mars song “When I was your man.” that Liam dedicated to Miley sometime during their marriage or engagement. The house this video was filmed in was the house her husband rented to cheat on her and the suit she’s wearing is the suit her husband wore on the red carpet when he told her to behave. Love Miley! ❤
There's also been heavy speculation that Jennifer Lawrence was one of the women he cheated with, and the gold dress and the way she put her hair up in the beginning look exactly like what Jennifer wore on the red carpet with Liam. Truly a masterpiece.

“We built a home and watched it burn.” is actually a real life reference to her relationship with her now ex-husband Liam Hemsworth when their house actually burnt down. They got married when she was only like 19 or 20 (edit it was actually 26, they dated when she was young) and they had a beautiful relationship. It was very pure and sweet everyone said…but Miley began to explore her sexuality and herself (her crazy era) and I think that they just wanted different things at the end of the day. And then,the Malibu fires actually burned down their house. They lost almost everything. So yeah things definitely were not working out lol I’m happy that she’s happy now being single and free.
And the chorus is so « when I was your man » by Bruno Mars bc apparently he once dedicated this song to her

And the somewhat hidden backing sample during the chorus is “I Will Survive”, the original female self love anthem. This is a whole vibe, there are no coincidences in this song nor this video.

Dude, every single bit of this is a burn to Liam Hemsworth and the visuals and where she went about making this video every single piece relates to things in their relationship. It’s insane and it’s so so good.
She’s walking down the road wearing a dress that similar to or the same as Jennifer Lawrence wore around the time where her and Liam hooked up. Then she jumps over the fence and takes up her clothes to get in the pool in the mansion of the house, where Liam hooked up with other women when she was touring. Then she was working out showing that only self-love, but kind of making fun of his exercise routine as well as showing off just how it is that she is taking care of herself and last, but not least she is wearing the suit that Liam was wearing on the red carpet for the avengers premiere where he was telling her to behave herself and trying to kind of push her away and asking her to act like someone other than who she was.
