    Hey friends 👋🏾! Welcome back to the channel. In todays video, I am showing you how I make body butter.
    Formulation:
    60% Shea Butter
    20% Coconut Oil
    15% Sunflower 🌻Oil
    2% Vitamin E Oil
    1% Arrowroot
    1% Fragrance Oil
    This is the formulation I was testing out today. You can tweek it how you like to get the consistency you desire.
    I do not claim to know everything about making body butter. This Is how I make it*
    This easy DIY body butter smells so good and is non-greasy, fluffy and moisturizing. Making body butter is fun and you get to get creative in the process.
    I make my body butter for my skincare business The Glow Keys and these fragrances will be dropping next week!
    It will however be a different, special formulation using different high quality oils.
    I can't wait.

      I gave the recipe, the formula in percentage. When you know the percentage you can make different batch sizes. A big batch or small. Google a batch size calculator, put in the ingredients with the percentages along with the amount you want to make and it will calculate the recipe. So say you want to make 16 Oz, it will calculate based of the percentage and tell you the recipe.

    Absolutely love the recipe it's actually quite similar to mine but I had a question on the fragrance oil I'm having trouble finding the right kind the ones that I've been getting from Amazon they smell good in the bottle but I have to use almost the whole bottle for the product to have the scent any suggestions

      Maybe about 20 min. Whip until you get the desired fluffiness.

    I ordered a container of African shea butter on Amazon and I also ordered Vaseline alo Vera gel in a jar. It's new on Amazon too. I just finished watching a other person making this. and I asked a crazy question a good friend of mine gave me a cookie press gun , with different types of cookie designs. when I make this mixture can I make this and let it sit in the freezer in a small plastic bag.

    • @gleniece09
      @gleniece09  Před rokem +1

      Yes you can. It will alter the whipped texture a bit but it will soften up at room temperature once ready to be used. Also be careful using Aloe Vera Gel if you formula is anhydrous. It contains water and will require a preservative.

      so I have a bag of Arrowhead powder and mica powder colors, and Shea butter and Alo Vera Vaseline gel. Ready ,Set, can I go make this?.

    Hey love do I get refined coconut oil or unrefined and can I get cold pressed?

    • @gleniece09
      @gleniece09  Před rokem

      I recommend unrefined. When ingredients are refined, that process takes away some of the benefits such as antioxidants and lipids that are so great for the skin. It also removes the fragrance. Some people is refined butters and such to remove the natural odors. But yea, it’s a personal preference. I don’t use coconut oil in my body butters anymore but when I did I used the unrefined, cold pressed from Costco.

    You have a beautiful recipe but the mixer is not providing enough air in your cream and it stayed kinda flat but because of the recipe it will still be good for the skin.

    • @gleniece09
      @gleniece09  Před 2 lety

      I wanted a thicker, more firm consistency, so it worked out vs the light airy consistency. This mixer is okay, but I am going to get a mixer with more power. Thanks 😊.

    • @lenamartinez7999
      @lenamartinez7999 Před 2 lety

      There you go that's what I mean you need to mix it with more power. And you can have both from an air consistency in the same cream with a better mixer.

    Can I use baby powder in place of arrowroot powder

    • @gleniece09
      @gleniece09  Před rokem +1

      I haven’t heard of using baby powder. Baby powder does include other ingredients. Some of them contain talc which has been cancer causing. So, personally I wouldn’t. Also arrowroot powder has a silky, luxurious feel. Only other recommendation would be cornstarch. But ultimately it’s up to you if you want to give the baby powder a try.

    With respect, everything is a chemical. Your recipe is great but it isn't better or worse than anything else. Diy isn't always great for skin; coconut oil is comodogenic as you know, and natural is not always better if you have a skin disorder. That all being said this a fabulous recipe and I appreciate you sharing and showing it. 😊
