My favourite day of the trip🙌❤️
i love when u guys team up for vids! iconicc
Loved the music at the transition around 2:50, that restaurant was great. Live music and food/drink is a good combination. You lost points for not having enough apples though lol
Sharmander awesome Sharla, the cliffs was cool, Norm’s Shamisen test was funny. I also love Shamisen music too
Sharmander I’m definitely going to Northern Japan
Hi Sharla
So beautiful thanks for taking us with you.
🤗😍💖🎀📸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It’s all about that shamisen!!! 😉
....dude you rock... !!!
💙🤗😍👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love how it was Norm who comes up with a master plan and Sharla is always all for it. Love this friendship so much. Both of you guys are super cool.
Having a hard time finding the part in my Bible where Jesus traveled to Aomori... must've been in the manga...
ReplayStation 😂
It was in the Netflix live action adaption actually.
It’s in the newest New Testament written by Japanese
Manga Bible
Must be in visual novel version.
Wait, you didn't go to the skunk cabbage birthplace? Oh, I know. It was so amazing it's actually getting it's own separate video! Right?
DEFINITELY.
I actually enjoy you and Chris collaborating more than either of your videos alone. Your contrasting personalities complement each other well and I love it. Like a buddy cop movie
And they have a happy ending
Foreshadowing this season now since 2020. Amazing dude.
That performer was such a good sport about Norm trolling him.
The man was full of support, "oh sugoi" and then Norm showed his true talent and the performer was like "....well shit."
"His younger brother... casually took Christ's place and ended his life on the cross" Oh yeah, just casually, of course
Not only that bit his younger brother has the most japanese name ever......wouldn't have his brother still have been living back home?
It's a casual thing to get crucified in your brother's place. That's what I call brotherly love!
So the one on wall crucifix is Isukiri?? Now that's a twist.
His brother Isukiri, of course
"Jesus died for our sins"
Well, actually that was his brother Isukiri. Jesus just went to Japan.
Isukiri died for our Sushi.
the thing about this story about Jesus running to Japan, is it seems like a bad fix-it fic. The Japanese in Aomori must have just heard the story of Christ, been dissatisfied by it, and invented their own mythology of what "really" happened.
so Jeebus was the 1st weeb? lol
.. just went to Japan.
For holidays ! Yaay !
س
8:18 oml I love Chris just poppin into the frame to look at the camera every few seconds lol
CZcams bringing me so much sharla and chris content is 🤌
Chris seems especially British on this trip
He came back to the UK for abit that's probs why 🤣
Love how Chris just assumes the role of "Dad" on trips like this, being all knowledgeable and an authority on all things haha! Some beautiful spots though :)
Norm playing the shamisen like a banjo and the shamisen player not only being okay with it but loving it ❤ that's why everyone should love inter-cultural interaction! And why we love channels like yours, Sharla!
Loved the small series! Can't wait for your next video!
Glad you enjoyed it! I’ve got some more Northern Japan adventures planned for the fall season🍂
@@sharlainjapan Can't wait!
I am stationed here in northern Japan in Aomori prefecture. I have to say it’s very hard to find things to do here because everything in Japanese and not many tourists come here. So I’d like to thank you greatly for doing some extra research and finding these spots. Just because of this I think I may head to the cliffs today!
Alan Weems Awesome! great weather for it today!
Lucky! It's my dream to be stationed there some day, if not in these next few years then maybe once I reenlist 🤞
I enjoyed and miss every second of the two years and seven months I was stationed there in the mid-90s!
I really needed too see that skunk cabbage group birthplace.
chris's face when norm started going into detail about shamisen lmaoo
I allways love how Chris makes her laugh her ass of❤😂
6:15 Suzuki Masayuki A.K.A the singer of Love dramatic and daddy daddy do!
sharla+chris=SHIPPED
hopefully im not too late on this one. idk why but when i see you two together it makes my heart all warm. buncha cuties
His younger brother, with a conveniently Japanese name... lol!
The shamisen was really cool. loved it. 😄
Im not christian or anything but i would for sure like to hear more of this epic tale lol
Watching Norm play so well (after many years of practice) is refreshing to watch
this is the same place Chris and Ryotoro went before right?
Scout528 it is!
I really love the background music you used through out this series Sharla. This is my third time watching it. Love this series alot
My daughter lived in Towada and worked through the JET program as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT). Chris was one when he came to Japan as well. I came in the spring and saw the cherry blossoms open and saw Yabusame, which is famous in Towada. For those who don’t know what that is, it’s an ancient way that Samurai practiced their archery skills on horseback, but in Towada this is done only by the women which is an amazing feat of leg control over the horse as you have to use both hands to load your bow with arrows as you gallop down a narrow path and hopefully hit three separate targets. Aomori has a horse culture, and I love horses which together with the first day of Honomi (Cherry blossom viewing) was my favorite thing I say while visiting my daughter. The ride we took to Lake Towada was through the mountains which had a spectacular view and ended up driving through a gorge with fast moving streams and over large rocks which made driving with windows open to enjoy the sounds of the rushing water. Then at Lake Towada we enjoyed a bit of hiking as well. One last place we went to was Hachinohe ( which means the eighth gate) and drove up to see a point on the coast where sea gulls gather on an off shore island in the hundreds and it was so windy that all they needed to do was spread their wings and they could just use the winds to hover right above your heads. Warning: many people bring umbrellas as because of the volume of Sea Gulls overhead, they often will relieve themselves whenever so head protection is advised if you want to enjoy being right up close and personal. I was lucky, I didn’t bring an umbrella, just a hat but remained unscathed throughout.
So that’s my story of my first trip up to the largest apple producing prefecture in Japan with a drive through the mountains, the view of one of Aomori’s largest lakes as well as driving through the gorge to get there, the viewing of Cherry bloom trees, watching the ladies doing Yabusame under these beautiful trees, and enjoying some unusual, up close and personal encounters of hundreds of Sea Gulls.
Aomori is not densely populated but there are a lot of places to enjoy if you get the chance to come all the way up to the last prefecture in the northeastern part of Honshu Island. ❤️❤️❤️
Yabusame sounds amazing!
Isukiri “casually” took Christ’s place and ended his life on the cross.
🤔🤨🙄
So the people that crucified him couldn’t tell the difference between a Jewish man and a Japanese man?
Of course, Jesus had no problem letting his “brother” die for him and then running away to Japan to live in hiding for 70+ years.
😒
Its a mythical story. Who cares lol
Jesus was the first samurai.
So fake right? Obviously Jesus didn't die at 106. He's living in Japan
The Bible does not make more sense either ahha
Jesus is Keanu Reeves
Norm is a shamisen hustler XD that was such a cute moment!
Chris is like that funny teacher on a school road trip ❤️😂
This road trip was beautiful! Love to see how everyone was having fun.
Norm trolling: 😂 👌
I wished to see more of Chris in these videos. It was a little weird that he was there but didn't have much of a role in the videos. I really liked the ones Sharla and Chris made together in the past and would like to see more of those. You two play so well together!
Sharla and chris is always a great dynamic. Next trip though throw Pete in there and I'd die of happiness 😁 OKAY just finished the vid. Is there nothing Norms good at, he played so well
I love Japan's weather, when I traveled there it was cool, not too warm and cloudy
A great end to the trip series. Norm is a talented due and glad the performer was a good sport. Can’t wait for the next one!
I love early fall, the weather is still warm, but no longer makes you suffer and the leaves changing colors is like a final colorful celebration of life.
Thank you so much for bringing us on your road trip! I love the dynamic of you, Chris, and Norm! Each of you have such different personalities that mesh really well together making your journey fun to follow! I can’t wait to see you try out that beautiful beach again next year!
Thank you for introducing me to the music of the Yoshida Brothers. I found their CZcams channel and their music is awesome. And the places you guys went looked really awesome
They did one of the Japanology (NHK World) opening theme songs.
Really enjoyed watching these! Thank you so much for sharing 🙏
Lake Towada is one of my favorite places in Japan. More the woods than the lake and the temple in the woods. Very peaceful area.
Everyone: "Oh wow look, Aomori apples haha!"
Chris: "C3PO"
I was also there Aomori, Aomori is famous for its good apples.🍎
what a fabulous area, looks like you all had a wonderful time with great food and entertainment x thank you, Sharla have a beautiful week x
8:51, Chris' nemesis makes an appearance
Sharla, you’re almost to 500k!!! Still evolving to Sharmeleon?!? 😆❤️
Yesss! So stoked!
Sharmander Omg YAASSSS!!! 🎉
This was the best episode so far in terms of funny interactions between you all it felt like everyone was happy and involved :)
That was a beautiful journey.
Aomori looks amazing!! Who else wants to go to rural Japan?!🙋🏼♀️💗
Great trip! Thanks for taking us along!💕
The look on Norms face while he places was hilarious! So serious. Those mountains and lake was so beautiful.
this is so funny seeing Chris so awkward in this series. 🤣🤣
I hope am not the only one that feel that though🤔
Very cool! I taught English in Aomori and I’m from Victoria, BC too :)
I love road trips! I enjoyed the series, and you're such a cheerful, lovely tour guide :) I found you through Chris's videos, and you do a really great job of showing off Japan. I've wanted to travel to Japan for a while but was never entirely sure where I wanted to go or what to do, and you provide a lot of inspiration.
Thanks for bringing us along on your trip. I enjoyed this series
Always love seeing your videos, and having so many of my favorite bloggers in one place. Lol excited for more videos when you’re ready! :D
Ooooh that swimming spot looked stunning!
I loved it when Victor was just casually picking apples off a random tree on the street. You know, as you do in Aomori 😂
Did no such thing bruh. I pointed them out. ;)
Thanks for sharing Sharla! You guys really captured the beauty of northern Japan, definitely need to go to these places!
yaaaay, i loved this series!! it feels like you really took us with you on a roadtrip
Glad to hear that!! That’s what I was going for☺️
Thanks for all the new and unique content Sharla!! I never really made it up north, except for Ebisu Circuit once.
Sharla, you look really really happy in this travel series! I’m happy to see you doing so well :)
Loved watching Norm playing the shamisen.
I absolutely love watching your video series' Sharla, there is always such a calm sense of adventure. We all know how chaotic traveling can be 😅
Went to Aomori last summer. Really great place and really quiet. The mountains around Lake Towada and Oirase stream are a great way to unwind from the hustle and bustle in Sendai and Tokyo
I really enjoyed this series, thanks for sharing Sharla!
Robert Mitchell Thank you for watching! I really appreciate the support :D
Excellent video Sharla and loved the whole trip Chris getting wet was hilarious. Keep up the good work x
I studied in Akita during University - it's such a gorgeous area of Japan. I loved that you went to Lake Towada, it's so beautiful there!
Awesome conclusion to the road trip series!
Enjoyed your road trip! Great seeing new places 😁👏💖
Loved this! Yes, fall is an amazing time to see Japan! We were in Osaka/Kyoto in late November and everything was deep red and orange. Spectacular.
Your hair is so pretty here, Sharla. Thanks for sharing your trips.
Love all of your videos
Northern Japan looks so beautiful. I hope I can visit some day in my life time. Thanks for sharing your wonderful road trip adventure ♥
I really enjoy when you show different places in Japan~! I will not likely be able to visit there and so I really appreciate videos like these. Thank you Sharmander, you're the best~!
I have enjoyed this little adventure. Can we get a ありがとうございます for the person who got the 100円 coin stuck in thr spyglass. Great sacrafice for generations.
It was actually jesus's other brother bless his soul
@@montgomeryfortenberry HI I'm Jesus, this is my brother Jesus, snd my other brother Izsuki!
I really need to get back up there. Had fun visiting Aomori for Nobuta, Tawado Ko, hiking up Hakkodasan, and those fun trips to Hach while "visits" to Misawa back in the 90s. Northern Japan really is a place worth visiting to get away from the hustle of big cities.
You can feel Norm's enthusiasm upon hearing shamisen. lol!! Even the servers were impressed. 7:52
Very much enjoyed the series!
Bucket list!! Go to Aomori Prefecture during the Autumn season! Sharla, I loved the trip videos. Thank you for sharing them.
This was Awesome ,I'm putting this on my list of places to Visit. Please do more road trips.
Yasssssssd i was waiting 😫😫 I love your videos 😍😍
I loved this video series. I really enjoy this travel vlog format :) Inspiring!
I love when you take road trips with your male friends, really enjoyable to watch.
Love the video can,t wait to go to Japan you are so much fun to watch and very informative
This was tons of fun
Very enjoyable. Love your vlogs. Much love.👍😁💜
I really wanted to make a stop in Aomori on my last trip! Definitely on my bucket list.
Love your videos. Makes me miss Misawa. My work takes me to Tokyo now but my heart is in the North. Thank you for the drone shots...so beautiful!!
I love the fact you're doing videos about travelling in Northern Japan ! It seems like it's not a very touristy place compared to the Kansai or the Kanto regions and I'm always happy when I see videos about Tohoku 😁
I loved this region when I traveled to Japan and I would say that my favorites things were : Matsushima, Yamadera, Akiu Onsen, Shiogama (near Sendai) and Nokkedon fish market in Aomori where you can make custom donburi, Lake Tazawa and last but not least, the Pikachu Train ! I keep discovering new places thanks to your videos and I hope I'll have the chance to travel to Japan again and visit all the places you've mentioned 😍 (btw, sorry if i make mistakes, english is not my native language)
Skunk cabbage sounds like a really cheesy 70's English punk band, so of course your going to want to see their birthplace :-)
You, Chris, Norm and so many other great Japan youtubers have changed and touch my family's life in so many positive ways. Your passion and hard work have provided us with many once in a lifetime moments we never would have had if not for you guys. We're planning our fourth family trip to Japan, in no small part due to the inspiration you guys keep give us. Thank you for all you do, our lives are richer because of you. Keep smiling, keep following your passion. We may be of little importance in the grand scheme of things, but you guys make this world a better place. As always, we're looking forward to your next upload. ^_^
New subscriber - Thoroughly enjoying the travel vids, especially the ones in Northern Japan - I lived in Japan from 1989-1999, with 3 years of that in Aomori Prefecture and 7 years in Tokyo. Nice to see my old home once again.
Thank you Sharmander, your video always make me feel nostalgic and worm...me in Wales to study abroad
I always love your videos. The trip looked like so much fun. To bad you couldn't see all the leaves change, I bet it gorgeous.
I loved this series! I would love to see more roadtrips;;;;;
Nice series, and great timing; my friend and I are just starting out our road trip thru Akita, Aomori then down to Sendai! 😀😀
loved this chilled road trip...tfs
Thanks for Aomori tour!
Norms shamisen play did amaze them really hard that even the staff stopped for an instant
So sad the road trip is over. I loved when you guys went to the cave in the cliffs, definitely would love to check that out!!
