Which car would you pick? Tesla, BMW or Mercedes?

The Model S LR here in the US is now $75K. 670hp/738tq, 0-60 3.1s, 405 miles of range. The Model S Plaid is now $89,995. Clearly, at those these price points there is nothing in the EV space that gives you what these Model S do for the money, nothing.

Dude all u care about is cheap speed becuase ur an average joe that has never been able to afford a real high end luxury sports car before. When it comes to EVs people want to use them as a luxury cruiser and BMW hit the mark spot on.

@@user-my4xu4gf1z Hi. I am a man who happens to have mostly driven Mercedes Benz and Audis my entire life. I am quite blessed in that regard. Also drove some BMWs here and there. I know what relatively high end cars feel like. I'd have the Tesla.

    Couple of things:
    1. At the end you talk price and say that the Tesla starts at 80,000... but it is a 670hp (which is more than the top trims for the Germans), and it has the same battery as the Plaid. Also it cones standard with air suspension, 22 speaker sound system, 4 wireless chargers (yes two in the back you forgot to mention and cooled seats.
    2. You talk about the Tesla's interior as bad, but is has the best headliner, soft touch plastics in the doors (bottom part as well), actually only the cover you showed is cheap.
    3. You keep saying its old, but the 2021 facelift, changed the chassis, changed the suspension, the interior, wider track and wider fenders...
I agree its a shame there is no right hand drive and the indicators are annoying. It is the best car here.

I am soon to take delivery of an i5 eDrive40 M Sport with Tech+/Comfort+. I feel like a kid at Christmas 😅... my impatience to receive it has led me to watching CZcams videos for days 😂. Love this review. I've never driven a tesla, but been a passenger in them, the build quality is awful! The materials feel cheap, definitely doesn’t give that luxury feel you expect for the price tag. I've owned Mercedes, typically AMG-line, and the driving experience left a lot to be desired, so not surprised that's still an issue. I've also owned a BMW and it was far and away the best driving experience of any car I've owned to date. "A BMW is for driving. A Mercedes is for being driven in".

    EQE

  • @bavariancarenthusiast2722

Great review. and rare - there is nothing out there comparing those 3 - normally the Plaid / Model S is more comparable to the EQS or i7 - but they are also way higher in pricing / luxury.
BMW i5 I would choose the 40 fully loaded - more then enough power unless you need all wheel drive in the mountains / snow
EQE I just bought the 500E, over the AMG - it comes with all the good stuff included (Hyperscreen, AMG packages, all assistens etc) with the same drive train as the AMG, but way more efficient especially way more then the 53 which is tested here, best compromise for me.
Tesla? No thank you. We have a very good and dense charger network here (why not yet in the UK?) also who buys a car with the steering joke on the wrong side.

How does the tesla win? Looks wise and interior wise the bmw is the clear winner. Unless ur using a tesla as a poor mans sports car and can't afford to have another fun weekend real luxury sports car to drive.

    • @richyzig
      @richyzig Před 16 dny

@@user-my4xu4gf1z The Tesla is cheaper, faster, more spacious, higher tech than both of these and much better interior quality than the EQE. The EQE's interior is a disgrace to MB, full of cheap, scratchy and hollow plastic. The BMW is not what it used to be - a great handling sports sedan. For the price of these two Germans, I get a Model S Plaid and blow their doors off.

Interesting... I've faced this choice. Only a bit more basic. BMW i5 edrive40, EQE350+ or Tesla model s.
The BMW lacks a bit in the range department. The mercedes is a bit hard to get to like the looks (and a bit to small in the boot). The Tesla is an old car and has unacceptable ergonomics.
Since my car is a company car (self employed), it goes on a financial renting.
The mercedes and BMW are competitive, but the Tesla was €600 a month more.
In the end I picked the i5 (for the next 3 years).
Next? i5 xdrive40 touring with a 95 kWh battery, Audi A6 avant quattro Etron?

The summary comment that the Tesla went on sale 10 years ago, implying it is more dated is TOTAL RUBBISH. Extremely weak, poorly researched content. Motors, batteries, interiors and build quality has vastly improved over the last 10 years as well as having the latest and superior tech.

Even the MSLR is easily the quickest car there. There was no reason to compare the Plaid to the other two as the Long Range is already so much faster. Now if they were doing a handling comparison, then the Plaid offers torque vectoring which wasn't even turned on in the handling portion of this test which is a shame. Also, they failed to mention the rear seat storage and cupholders, and center console which provides a reasonable space to actually write on. The USB-C ports, on late 2023 and 2024 charge at 35 watts so you can run and charge a laptop for real on them now.
I agree with the overall verdict because Tesla refuses offer right hand drive which is outright dangerous in a left side driving country.
