  • The Roadmap of Your Life Book Tag:
This is an original tag created by Tristan ‪@Tristan-L-Space-Books‬
I was tagged by Tristan ‪@Tristan-L-Space-Books‬
    There are only two prompts:
1.)What is a book that reminds you of or takes place in each place that you've lived? This could mean country, state/province, city/town, and or apartment/house. Just come up with a book that really resonates with you and the time you spent in each place where you've had a mailing address!
2.) Since a roadmap not only shows you where you've been, but also where you're going, what is a book that reminds you of or takes place in your next destination? Or a place you'd like to live in?
    Books Mentioned:
Martin, George R.R. Game of Thrones.
Blume, Judy. Are You There God, It's Me, Margaret.
Tolkien, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
    Guest, Judith. Ordinary People.
Salinger, J.D. The Catcher in the Rye.
Frost, Robert. The Poetry of Robert Frost: The Collected Poems, Complete and Unabridged.
Elder, John. Reading the Mountains of Home.
    Wilder, Thornton. Our Town.
Hallberg, Garth Risk. City on Fire.
    Joyce, James. Ulysses.
    Keegan, Claire. Foster.
O'Faolain, Nuala. Almost There: The Onward Journey of a Dublin Woman.
    Benchy, Maeve. Circle of Friends.

FYI, a tangent. I once heard fantasy author R. A. Salvatore tell the story of his own intersection with the boxed set of Tolkien's books. His sister gave them to him, one Christmas. He didn't think much of it, he didn't read them right away. Fast forward to the Blizzard of '78, in New England, when everything shut down. Stuck in the house with nothing to do, Salvatore finally opened the boxed set. And the fantasy world grabbed his imagination enough that he eventually became a fantasy writer himself.

What a wonderful story! Thank you for sharing this anecdote. R.A. Salvatore and I must be contemporaries as I remember well the Blizzard of ‘78! I had already read the box set by then, but I remember lending it to my high school boyfriend, who read it that winter too! Amazing! Thank you again!😊

Thanks for sharing, Pat. You may be interested in the tag, "My Life in 10 Books." It's from a year or more ago, I think. Maybe it was a tag before you entered the fray. Anyway, it's a fun experiment to think of 10 books that defined you, as you grew up.

He came to the US as a young man going to graduate school and raised his family here. But that is where my curiosity about Wales began.) As for your desire to come to NY at some point, it is indeed a fascinating, wonderful city. I'm kind of intimidated by it now too, but I wasn't when I was younger and went into the city at least once a week. These days, I feel much more hesitant. I'm very excited about this trip to Ireland.
