Here in argentina the news are extremely agressive against videogames and idk why...for example
-remeber that terroristt attack on France i think it was on 2017-2019? Well the news here said that the terrorist trained using Minecraft
- a teenager raped one of her classmates and he used to play calle of duty all time...and i kid You not....one news reporter said that he was influenced by cod...because according to her...there is rape scenes in cod.
-on other news outlet, they once invited an indie developer for questions about his work and strait up started to bullying him. laughing at his job, asking him questions like does he leave his home, does he do something else besides games, if he had a gilfriend and if she was okey with it. And thousend more questions of that Nature.
-other channel of news once interview a few streamers for a "segment about gaming" but in reality they grab their interviews, badly edit their awnsers to.make them look like complete addicts to videogames and make them look Bad.
-once two new reporters told that fornite was filled with pedophilea and if that was not enough they started "playing" the game. Bringing a tv, and i kid You not, brougtt a PS1 and started "playing" while the screen show gameplay of fornite.
The Best part is that they were playing divides screen but this came out before fornite had split screen for two people... It was Absolute madness

Journalists have been ignorant of gaming culture since gaming became trendy . I remember when only gamers were the ones reporting stuff in the 90's . But good things never last
Always been a thing, was even worse back then regarding gaming, when games were getting banned from countries for being too violent.
But Journalism as a whole seems to have become a lot worse over time.
Ah this same thing happened with TV in their time, radios aswell. Devices of the devil if you ask me.

I’m honestly surprised “Hot Coffee” was never mentioned in this, especially since not only was it one of the most controversial GTA inclusions that nearly killed San Andreas with an Ao rating (and I believe had a huge recall in effect to avoid), but the actual content of Hot Coffee was so poor and janky that it was borderline hilarious how parents and people were getting offended by two clothed characters creating friction on a bed.
I imagine TLOU2 would’ve just caused those people back then to just implode on themselves.
This is one of those things that boomers do when they are bored because they don't play video games.
I remember back in the day that my mom wouldn't allow me to play "violent" Video Games (Early 2000s era), no CS, no Max Payne etc. But a friend of mine just burned me his copies and I played them while she was asleep until she begrudgingly just gave up. To this day I have never beaten anyone, never robbed anyone and never shot anyone. the only thing that suffered were my grades since I was awake at night trying to get through Max Payne and playing CS with bots on cheap earphones.

I had a similar experience to that poor Runescape kid, except in my case it was Rappelz, one of those "WoW Killers" from Asia. Really fun game, except the devs were absolute donkey and left an unsecured backup of their internal database hang out, leaking people's personal data and their passwords. Needless to say nearly 50% of all players had all their rare items traded away, sold on the ingame auction house, and all the Rupees made from those trades (yes that was the ingame currency) were then happily flogged off by spambots on the trainee island hub.
Utterly frustrating and a script kiddie hack that haunts me to this day as it forced me to abandon my old email that is now on SO many spam lists it literally receives about 2000 spam and scam mails a year.
