- Annie and Abed moments..! It’s mostly platonic, and the few romantic moments are usually when Abed plays a role like Don Draper or Han Solo, but Abed and Annie are still a power pairing. Some could even go as far to say that towards the end, Annie sort of kind of replaces Troy for Abed. Even though no one could ever genuinely replace Donald Glover imo, but, ya know.

Never really realize this before but Annie was being a bitch with this one. Love her usually, but she invoked friendship to get Abed to help her, then had him sit for 26 hours straight and still had the gall to be mad the next day. At least she apologized for it though.

Because like Pheobe he’s the group oddball who is also the glue holding them together. He and Phoebe also often work behind the scenes to make things develop in their circles of friends.

I love that Annie and Troy stay with Abed the longest in ‘Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas”. The three of them are the youngest members of the study group, and it’s nice how they stick together.
Pierce is the oldest and he's the only one that stuck with Abed till the very end

I think it's so cool that Abed is clearly neurodivergent and different from everybody else but he's never looked down on. He may be funny but he's also a character who wants and grows and I think that's so comforting. I think it's such a cool representation, and i love the fact that Dan Harmon based him on himself. Also love seeing this non-stereotypical biracial Arab dude in comedy.

Jeff looks down on Abed at first, it is part of how they characterize him as a self-interested asshole at first.

I'm pretty sure he based Abed on a real person he knew at CC (who he originally wanted to play but Dani Pudi was too good). What I think you meant is that he ends up being Dan Harmon's 4th wall breaking voice (like when he comments that the paintball episodes aren't parody but an homage). That being said, you are right in that no one looks down on him and one of the ppl who would (Jeff) actually ends up being one of the few ppl who acts as the translator between him and the group at times
one of the things i find most unforgivable about season 4 was that they ditched all the character development in S3 and the burgeoning connection between abed and annie and turned annie back into someone with a schoolgirl crush on jeff.

They did throw development out, but annie clearly liked jeff throughout s2 and 3, and she was only attracted to abed when he was playing characters, all of which were similar archetypes to jeff.

Love the background details. I forget exactly which episode, but there’s one where he can be seen helping a pregnant woman out of the cafeteria. Later on in the show, when Shirley is having her baby he mentions he helped deliver a baby once before.

Annie understood abed. He helped her keep the child in her while growing up. And Annie helped abed mature more and more. So I think abed and Annie would have worked. She loves it when he role plays, and I believe that he really likes her. Abed also understand Annie, but in his own way. Annie was patient with him, helped him with everything, and he with her. When Troy left, the two got closer. So writing it as the two started a relationship makes sense to me. I think the two would have worked, more than Annie and Jeff, and a little more than Troy and britta. Even though I loved Troy and britta

mmm i disagree that they would of been good together relationship wise, i think their friendship is way cuter and more beneficial. also troy and britta are way better as best friends, they have no chemistry and their relationship didn't work, as to why it ended. i like that both pairings ended up as just friends because media pairs male and female friends together romantically way too often, a trope which community makes fun of. personally i think troy and abed being together would of made perfect sense, plus troy was kinda queer-coded anyway. either way, i do like how everything ended with everyone just being friends instead of hopelessly paring people together last minute. :))

It's so significant Abed was playing with the Whip he bought while Annie was upset with him. He gave up the Indiana Jones Marathon to do that favor for her. T_T and she picked up on that T_T
One of the best scenes between them is in s5 finale where Annie almost kisses Abed and he's just like "I have a girlfriend, Annie...".
Also, them shooting together in the s6 paintball episode. Or the "missing lover footage" scene from the wedding episode.

I love that Annie stepped up so much to be there for Abed when Troy left. It's so sweet of her and I think benefited them both to be so close to someone so different. I love their relationship
She really became his sister I love that she won't even correct him like a sister would instead of treating him like a child.
In "A Fist full of paintballs" Annie is really committed to the character. And Abed stated.- She's pretty awesome today". And when the setting change to "Star Wars" he was quick to claim the Han Solo Character saying it would default on Jeff, knowing full well that its Annie's type.

Abed made me realize that Phoebe and Chandler never DID ANYTHING TOGETHER!! Like oMg just that one episode where they all found out about Monica & Chandler and then Phoebe tries to seduce Chandler to mess with him.

This is missing any scene from “Virtual Systems Analysis”, where Abed and Annie basically have an entire episode together. Great compilation otherwise! Their dynamic was always great, especially considering they were just great friends off camera as well.

After Troy and Abed I think Annie and Abed are the best friendship in the series. And I wouldn't have been mad at all if they ended up being a couple even though I did like what we saw of his relationship with Rachel
good lord not everyone needs to be a couple. I also think Jeff and Abed's relationship is probably the coolest, Jeff is always ahead of everyone else in tracking where Abed's movie/tv brain is going because he was also raised by tv. He looked out for him a lot in the beginning and wanted to let him be himself when other people wanted to change him, then he just let britta, annie, and troy take care of Abeds real serious breaks, probably because he doesn't know how to handle those things. But I love how in the last season he ends up having a mental break of his own, with the G.I joe episode and the ending of the show is coming to terms with life not being like TV and people have to go and live their lives.

I feel like if they were to do a movie, Annie and Abed may actually become a thing. Jeff and Annie are great, but I just don't see them lasting long term. I can see Abed helping Annie enjoy life, and Annie helping Abed mature and grow as a person. Plus, they both hold each other accountable for their actions. Towards the end of the series, I feel like Jeff gave Annie way too many free passes.
Plus she enjoyed his role play of don draper and Han Solo and she got real into the dnd sex
I definitely think Jeff and Annie are in love and have great chemistry, but like they have said themselves, the generational difference as well as the gap between their personalities ("I don't like the things you like because I'm..." "Older?" "Not lame.") are absolute deal breakers.
Abed and Annie on the other hand don't have any of those problems... and especially now that they're growing away from each other through their job and internship I really feel like they might have a spark when they see each other again ♥️
I think that Abed and Annie would have been so much better, but if the movie does happen, I think it would sadly be Jeff and Annie

When Abed said "Because you asked me to stay and you said we were friends", it reminded me of an article I read that basically said that society makes autistic traits out to be negative even if they are anything but. For example, a study showed that autistic people are less likely to steal from their friends than neurotypical people, but that same study made it seem like that's a bad thing because they weren't super self-serving.
That special gesture they do when annie's leaving is the same they do in season 6 or 5 i think and they comment it's a work in progress. God the details

It's kind of funny, Abed's supposed to be on the spectrum but in reality he is the normal one and it's everybody else that's insane. He enjoys life and stories, he is loyal and does the right thing because doing anything else is illogical. "I waited because you asked me and said you were my friend" - It's such an obvious conclusion and she has no retort to it.
Abed is able to analyze situations in a certain way, but I don't believe he's the only one who is normal (even with the episode featuring their psych evaluation scores). Troy, Annie, and Shirley are fairly normal, though, they have their moments (just as Abed does too).
Jeff and Britta are a bit deluded about how the world works and their role in it, seemingly as a coping mechanism from experiencing deep hurt in their younger years.
