I just found your channel and you gained a instant sub.
Simple, well constructed, thought through, good looking desings, no shenanigans.
This will be one of the videos I´ll keep pulling up time and time again for Ideas.
Thank you for your great work!
Those lockable support rails, with anti slip covers and rail guides for clamps, seem awesome!
Dennis, I want to thank you for all you do. This is just what I needed as I am building my own version of an MFT table since I got the idea from you and Peter Millard.
You are producing one of my favorite channels.
Keep up the good work!
I just found your page and I'm very impressed by the information you provide! Thank you!
Great job Denis!
I just love your work, it inspires me to be a better wood worker.
Lots of great options and ideas.
Great Video, the bench is a masterpiece and i really like all the accessories, i didnt know they made so many. I recently bought some 20mm dogs and some long posts for my track saw from Temu. Ill see if they work well soon.
You’ve really done your research on this one Denis there’s so many great products on the market that I wasn’t aware of. Thanks for doing what you do you have created such a great website and channel and of course one hell of an amazing and awesome workshop.
You have excellent ideas and thoughts. Your workshop is the best I've ever seen. As an architect, I particularly like all the details.
Love your content! So well presented and packed with great information. Thank you!
I’m wondering if the dog accessories you use will work with a bench top made from 2 sheets of 3/4” plywood?
They are now shipping the Bessey MFT clamps to the US. I've been waiting for over a year! I had given up hope they would ever sell them overseas. Thanks
I’m not done building the workbench yet, but the plans are very well detailed and now I have a nice shopping list of things to get. Looking forward to that second part to turn the bench into an accurate tablesaw. Great Video once again Dennis!
Great! Thanks and good luck building it👍
What is the black material on top of bench?
Wondering the same
@@Justin-fb7ni it’s full colored mdf
Good video and info. Thank you.
Beste Dennis,
Umit Dolap
Fantastic video; getting ready to build a 2nd workbench and really love what you have done. I am going to go back and check out your website as I’m sure the hydraulic lift is covered that you have for your bench. So excited to see all the possibilities. Thanks!
Hello , truly enjoy your videos, pretty thorough and clean.
I wanted to let you I know I followed the links for colored mdf in the US and the only linked that worked or had the material in stock was Trinity.
I am looking to using the colored mdf.
What is it with through colour mdf being so rare in North America? I can't find it ANYWHERE in Canada.
Dennis, what kind of wood is the black top?
Thanks a bunch for all the tips, Dennis! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Great content
Kind Sir, thanks for your teaching us that is the BEST! You are truly a "Cut" above.
Maybe it is the slickness of the tools and accessories, maybe it’s the accent - or perhaps is it both, and I’m saying this as a compliment: this video felt like I was touring a vilain’s high tech lair.
Hello Dennis, your videos are incredible, as always. But I would like to see a video of how you made this magnificent workbench.
Thank you
Me too! I love his other workbench, but I would love to see details (or even plans!) for this workbench as well!!
Dennis, you are my MFT go to guy!Well researched .Great content.
Excellent as always ✨
Thank you for the great overview, Denis!
I was wondering how you decided between 19mm (3/4") and 20mm dog holes. Assuming this was something you thought about.
Very informative video as usual Dennis, so many MFT accessories to consider, I particularly like the Bessey side clamps 😁
Ayo, the apostrophe key Is 2 keys right to the "L" key.. don't forget it😂😉 your videos are great, thanks Dennis
🤣🤣
Mr HOW can you pls tell me a little bit about how you modified your Fat 300 to build this bench? it would be very helpful. Thanks for your channel
Please tell me what material the work surface is made of, is it possible to get a link to the manufacturer? Thank you.
Dennis, are you going to do a video or make plans for the for the Felder lift table bench? I purchased your bundle. Is the bench top,the same dimensions on the bench and lift table?
Yes, in the future. I have to make a new version with a torsion box structure and some other small adjustments. When that is ready and I am convinced I am on the right track. I will release a video and plans
Thanks for the video. I'm looking forward to part 2 since i'm starting to design my tiny workshop. I'm wondering if i should buy a small table saw or if i have enough with the mft and a track saw? Any thoughts? Thanks
I would start with a track saw. When you will consider a small table saw later, you will always use the track saw to cut the big sheet in more manageable pieces. There are very accurate alternatives for the track saw on you workbench. I will show some in the next episode.
@@HookedonWood thanks!
Great video! I already have some of these accessory and sure i will be buying some more
Hi, Sam! Nice to hear something from you again:-)
Plans for the workbench plz it is literally perfect (the height adjustable one)
Can you provide plans for the work bench in this video? Would be great to see a dedicated video of you building this work bench.
Loved your workbench layout but, personally, I don't need the lift system. So, I intend to make a version with drawers instead. 😊
Should be no problem of course😀
all can made in home DIY and lot lot cheapen, stupid waste money buy this.
I like your Videos and your Equipmet. Very proffessional. One Question please. What is the Dog Hole grid dimension. Center Hole to Center Hole? Thanx
Another great video!! Thanks for sharing!! Much ❤ Dennis!!
I have a lot of dog-hole bench accessories too- and I made every one of them. That is what being a maker is.
IMHO the chamfer style depth set is inferior and weakens the hole, plus there is a danger of catching the edge if it is not fully home. I use a step dog system- the shank is 20mm, but the shaft is 21mm. Gives positive location, requires no modification to the table, and can be used interchangeably with most jigs. Does not stop 'normal' dogs being used. No edges to risk the workpiece. All upside and no downside.
I do not see any reason why the small chamfer weakens the hole. But I have always used the dogholes you have before, and I can not say anything bad about them. But I prefer these. They have these kinds of bench dogs also with a screw treaty that will sunk in your workbench and this way you can screw jigs to your workbench. In my opinion it gives extra possibilities. But I didn't find any disadvantages. Still think both styles are comparable
Thanks for another informative video!
Those RUWI rails are almost certainly the solution to a bench redesign for my small garage but they're not cheap, so thanks... I think!
I agree completely re, the Bessey horizontal clamps; they were a revelation and one of the most useful tools I have.
I don't use the UJK fence / stop system any more, ever since you showcased the Hongdui planing stops, which just drop into the table without any drama at all. I really like them. I bought a Bench Dogs fence and flag stops, which really work well.
Please keep making your videos, even though they keep costing me money...
Thank you so much Dennis! I have one question - do the Ruwi support rails come with the locking dogs or did you purchase them separately, it is not clear on the Ruwi web page. Thank you again.
Hi Dennis, great video on your MFT and bench dog's and your other clamping accesories, looking forward to the next one ,take care. best wishes from, Wrexham WALES
The machinist and OCD in me loves all these precise bench tools.
I love the table top... is it plastic material or something else?
I absolutely love this work bench but for one thing the Felder hydraulic base, they are so expensive so it puts me off building one. Could you find some alternatives and test them against the Felder, perhaps a fixed and mobile version? Keep up the good work. 👍
You could always look at a motorcycle lift from Harbor Freight or the like, and adapt it to work with a bench! I'm tempted to do the same to be honest...
This video has got me thinking - I have a hydraulic dog grooming table that is no longer required and is just taking up room in my workshop. All I need is a copy of the plans for this mft table version 😀
@@paulbackhouse2065 That would be awesome!! I do wish Dennis would do a more in-depth video on his MFT table, but you could also make something to your own dimensions, since you'd possibly have to adapt any dimensions of his to your lift table anyways...
@@Shadoweclipse1386 I am guessing that the MFT table top is essentially just a box that sits over the existing hydraulic table top. I might have a go and see if I can make it look as good as the one Dennis made 😀 Will have to invest in some of the MFT templates and dogs. Ironic that I will need MFT dogs for my dog grooming table 😂
@@paulbackhouse2065 That would be really awesome!! I hope it works out for you!!
Do you have plans for the bigger workbench?
Will be in the future!
Do you have a build video of this workbench?
Not yet. I plan this in the future
How did he run that track saw on top of the work surface without cutting into the work surface
Loved the video! Are there also plans for your adjustable work table?
There will be in the future. Because t I have to make some changes first. There are a few thinks that keep it away from perfect.
Hi, what material is the top of your workbench? is that black MDF or something else?
I bought the parf guide system .... it was a mess up. I followed the directions to a tee, but the holes got further and further apart and by 5 feet, it was out a quarter inch
I wish I had this type of bench.
Hi Dennis, love your reviews. I currently have the Felder FAT300S in the basket and would love to build a similar workbench to yours. Do you plan to make any plans / videos for that one too? Thanks!
There will be in the future. Because t I have to make some changes first. There are a few thinks that keep it away from perfect.
What material is the top of your workbench?
It is called full colored Black MDF.
Cool.... US distributors would be good
What is the top of that bench made of?
Hey Dennis, do you have the plans available for this bench or only your router bench?
Cheers,
Adrian
At this moment only the router bench.
Hi Dennis, are you planning to add the bench plans at some point, or not something you would be looking to do?
😀🙏
Love this video much better than the cheap imitation tools from China.
Those dog hole plugs address my main concern with having a big mft table. If I use it as an assembly table, I know I'll drop things through the holes or have dust falling down through the holes. But having plugs would make it a solid top most of time and prevent dust from falling down into lower area.
Totally agree😀
I was considering buy the magnetic plugs for my MFT style bench. My only doubt is about using a vacuum to clean the top and the risk to suck them up...
This guy workbenches.
Hi Denis what make is your workbench lift mechanism for height adjustment.thanks
That is the Felder Fat 300S
They’re really expensive aren’t they?!
Yes, they are. When you want fix adjustable work benches I found them a bit more affordable. But I can not say anything else than it is very convenient to have a height adjustable workbench. But luckily not necessary
Hi Dennis.
Are you going to have plans for this big workbench?
it's like RR workbench
Are your workbench tops Valchromat? What are people using in the US that is better than MDF?
Yes, It is something similar as Valchromat. IT is called Full Colored Black MDF. I think a good quality Medite MDF is strong and dense enough to be an alternative, apart from the color.
Cheers.
What is MFT?
Bessey's horizontal clamps are great indeed - far better than e.g. Festool's corresponding clamps. Cheaper, too. As for other clamps that work well with mft benches, I highly recommend Axminster's quick action guide rail clamps. It is my go-to clamp for nine jobs out of ten.
Wwwooooowww... What a chanel!!! Sub&like 😁
What are you using to keep your black MDF workbenches clean/black? RubioHybrid Wood Protector Black?
I'm betting it's not MDF, but another similar engineered product like Valchromat. I've seen it available in the US for commercial applications, but never able to source it locally.
@@Reign_In_Blood_963 dunno how often you've watched his videos, but the build his stuff out of black colored MDF. And he doesn't live in the US.. he's from netherland
Your voice sounds like Anthony Hopkins
Everything in your shop is past factory finish I am sure there none other like this in the world of wood shops
Are you from the future? 😉👍👍
It looks as if RUWI don't ship to the UK 🤨
Not able to purchase the " RUWI " products ....No shipping to Australia....They seam to be a very useful equipment...
Sorry to hear that! Maybe you can sent them an email.
Are you Dutch?
✌️
As a professional welder with a fixture table the price of a small car, I just don’t get the need for these setups in woodworking. For starters, unless you have a thick metal table, your material is constantly moving despite your original true dimensions. I was expecting to watch this video and have it make sense, but with each step in this demonstration I can see ways to do all of these tasks just as efficiently and square, if you’re missing all the accessories.
It’s almost as if the connoisseurs of these tables have them so they can stare at them in the shop for hours, admiring the color scheme and gadgetry.
Deleting family pictures in the iPhone camera roll to snag a few hundred more shots of the MFT.
Bizarre!
"Hooked on Gadget Adverts" channel name would be more appropriate.
uh, super expensive waste money this tools. all this can make DIY in garage not need pay lot money waste.
How can it be waste money for me when I love it😉
I really wish the materials you used like the black top were easily available in the US. Having it shipped it pretty unrealistic due to shipping cost per sheet. No offense but that is kind of the negative with your builds. Nothing comes out looking like your nice builds which are all centered around that black top that we can not find here. I would look into your youtube algos and see how many of your subscribers are from the US. If its the majority...I would perhaps make some builds not around the black surface so we can get an idea of what "we" can actually build. I simply don't purchase your plans because the outcome would not be the same here in the US. I've searched for the material you use but its via shipping only and that is like having to ship a few sheets of plywood to yourself from 5 states over...would ruin the cost of the build. And I live in a major US city, Tampa, Florida. Still not way to bet the materials needed to produce your outcomes. Just a thought.
I too would love to get access to the black mdf that Dennis uses but I don't think Dennis should make things for his own shop with some other material just because we can't affordably find the black pdf in the U.S. I am glad it is available for him and he can make beautiful shop projects from that material.
Очень круто!!!
