    I always thought the brutes were a unique enemy vs the rest of the covenant troops: the elites are very fast, agile, intelligent and disciplined, the jackals are fast, small and accurate, the grunts are canon fodder, but the Brutes are lumbering, strong, fierce, animalistic and bullet sponges. I also always liked how their projectile weapons and metal armor seem almost medieval by comparison to the plasma based weapons and energy shields of the rest of the covenant

    Atriox’s power armor has always looked to me as though it was designed after the Covenant captured a suit of Mk.IV MJOLNIR and reverse engineered it. It doesn’t resemble the H3 Brute armor and there’s really nothing from H2 we can compare it to, but it also lacks similarity with the Halo Wars (1) Brute armor designs.

      If you think about it, this is pretty much already implemented in halo wars 2 possibly with Decimus, Voridus, & Pavium. I believe this is most likely with Decimus from the looks of gameplay ( wether or not this is lore accurate or not I'm not sure and this is purely speculation). In all honesty I feel this is something that SHOULD be adopted for the banished for Infinite considering their ranks could potentially contain humans and maybe(again pure speculation and just a little hope) hurogak, let alone elites and other species. I don't think it out of the realm that they begin to develop a semi-powered or even full fledged ability altering power armor with such resources at their disposal. Human rebel scientist aiding the banished could be a possibility, or captured UNSC personel and data that could have information regarding any of the spartan Gen 1,2,or 3 specifications to bolster their armaments or aid in research and development of such equipment.

    I'd like a mission in infinite with the following story.
    The brutes realizing that Spartans keep defeating them dispite being puny humans, determine that mjolnir armor gives Spartans an advantage. They decide to reverse engineer captured mjlonir and create a prototype suit. ONI learns of this and sends blue team to destroy the armor. Cortana also learns of this and sends prometheans and the warden to aid in the armor's destruction. Upon reaching the armor, you find a brute wearing it and he stomps the warden like a pro MMA fighter could a toddler. Blue team then has to fight him in a running battle as they attempt to flee for a safe area as the infinity moves in to end the fight with a Salvo of MAC rounds. Blue tean emerges from cover to find a damaged brute spartan and must finish it off.

    • @caseyhall2320

      I vaguely remember a video on krogans vs brutes. Both could become extremely educated races if given a small amount of time (in comparison to other races on this list) and both were warriors. But I'm pretty sure the video came to the standstill conclusion of whether the Krogans could throw enough soldiers at the brutes to overwhelm them or would the brutes be too formidable of foes to beat. Personally idk much about the Klingon, but I do know that in current story/shows they are decently advanced in technology.
      But if we were to assume the Banished brutes were going against the other three, I'd say they would probably genocide the hell out of the wookies (I'm sorry my furry friends), possibly beat the Klingons (again, don't know enough about them), and....Yeah the ground forces for Banished Brutes would probably beat the Krogans if they used their full arsenal of vehicles (that are almost like cheat sheets lmao) but space ship battle I don't honestly know.

    I love the fact that you are an engineer, it makes the tech descriptions much better. I love Halo's tech lore and you explain it so well.
    As an aside, I think the devs should start switching UNSC to more enegy weapon oriented designs, both in space and on the ground or the Halo Universe would start losing its belivability. The UNSC should have started adopting energy weapons if not during, then definitely after the Human-Covenant War, any real life navy would have done so by now.
    Energy weapons, at least in Halo lore, are more modular, take up less space, they are more effective against both shields and armor than kinetic weapons, they are remarkably more useful against the flood and they are much more powerful overall than any length of mac cannon can provide.

      @ZonTheDon You may be right. A lot of people would also start complaining about "missing their good old assault rifle" or something along those lines, so that's another thing to consider too.
      But honestly, it simply doesn't make sense that the UNSC can figure out the forerunner engines, shields and hard light shields, but they are still stuck with throwing pieces of metal to enemies as more or less the only offensive capability they have.
      And I think they can do the switch while keeping the traditional unsc weapon aesthetics while firing the new ammo to get people used to the idea of using plasma or hard light instead of bullets and say that they had to retrofit the old gear due to logistics and such. They can also use the resurgence of the flood as the excuse, since enegy based attacks are more effective against the flood, so the switch makes sense.
      But yeah, we probably won't see anything happening regarding this.

      @@derekmensch3601 It is admittedly strong munition in today's World, but it is nowhere near as effective as searing hot plasma burning at least at 3000-4000 degrees celcius and fired at high speeds. You can get irreparable burn wounds just by being in close proximity to that one plasma shot. If anything games vastly underrepresent the power of the energy weapons due to game balance issues. Lore is much more realistic and precise about them and the books vividly describe how brutal plasma weapons really are. Besides, I meant the entire arsenal of the UNSC, including the starships, not just the assault and battle rifles.

    • @Korkuthan87778
      @Korkuthan87778 Před 4 lety

      @@derekmensch3601 Books clearly state how inadequate shipboard mac cannons are compared to covenant equivalents like the plasma lance. Games again generally underestimate their power due to narrative and gameplay issues. It wouldn't be much of a fun game if their power was represented like the potential equivalents in real world or the actual lore. Besides MACs take up too much space for their lackluster effectiveness, the barrel length being an important factor in the strength of the weapon. No covenant capital ship reserves nearly half of the volume of the ship to a single weapon system and they still stomped UNSC in every space engagement for several decades.

      It is. This was one of the plot telling devices of Halo 3:ODST. Rookie going through New Mombasa and finding items left behind by his squad mates. The helmet from Dare, the drone that saw Dutch escaping uplift reserve, Romeo's sniper rifle, the bio-foam can they used to treat Romeo etc. So yeah, the sniper rifle that Rookie found is Romeo's sniper rifle.

    • @jinsai8064
      @jinsai8064 Před 4 lety

      @Jazz Feline I know they use electromagnetic fields to stabilize the plasma, but something like a tokamak which does the same thing (granted in a different use case) heats up water to produce energy. So I don't think a magnetic containment field would contain all that heat, especially since the energy sword is able to cut and cauterize wounds on contact. There still has to be heat transfer between the plasma and the surrounding air

    From what I've known, specific Elite armor helmets do not have HUDs including the Arbiter's old and new helmets. It wouldn't make sense for an open Elite helmet to have a built-in HUD. All the Arbiter would see in reality is just him aiming his weapon, and would also just have the shielding system. I'm really not trying to be a hypocrite, but that's how I see the Arbiter's armors operating. The Spartan armors do however have the HUD of course, but it's just weird to see the Arbiter have a HUD when his helmet is an open-faced helmet. I just think of it that way.
