I have two thrifted round woven trays on which I display nuts and seeds gathered on my morning walks; ie: gumnuts, banksia pods etc. These are an informal and fun way to incorporate my love of natural things in my home and are unique to me. In the Summer I keep a bowl of shells and corals collected when beach combing. I prefer these to any store bought shells because I found them myself.

I am so glad i found you on youtube. You have the same philosophy on decorating as i do. I will be renovating my townhouse in a couple of years and it is stressing me out as the homes that are showcase on the few decorators sites and pinterest are either beyond my budget or the end results all look the same. I am debating whether to hire someone at the moment. I am almost 60 so i have a lot of items from travel , from my past that i have collected so my home can be quite eclectic. I have managed to mostly avoid buying items from homegoods type of store as i want my art to reflect me , my oresent and past. I used to be a photographer so i do have tons of pictures. Now i just have to print them and showcase more of my work. My walls are still quite empty so i have tons of space. Thank you for your content.
You really must frame your work. Incredible to have so many memories to display. You can do an art shelf and change them out. You could even frame some of the mementos from your travels. You're right about the results looking the same. Please do let yourself get stressed. Maybe pull out some of your photographs and some of your souvenirs from your travels. Perhaps those will inspire a creative direction? Keep me posted. I know you'll come up with something beautiful and personal. PS and the pleasure is all mine. I 'm having a blast making these videos! Your whole mindset toward home and design is totally my vibe. I always say I want things in my home and clothes on my body that could turn up in a photograph, and you'd never know what year the photo was taken. I like real natural materials that are well-made and last. I finally had to shop for a new floor lamp over the weekend, and I came home with nothing because things are so cheaply made. It's incredible. I do not buy home decor until I need it. I still have the Hudson Bay blanket that belonged to my mother-in-law's mother. That is what speaks to me.

That is so my vibe too. It's sentimental and special. It's priceless. I actually get sad when I see all the cheaply made stuff out there AND it's not a cheap price! I am the same, I often do not buy anything and spaces are a work in process until the "right thing" appears in my life. It always does and when that happens it feels so good!
Yes! I will go without until I find the right thing rather than just filling a space, which is why after five years I have finally figured out what I want on one of my walls that has remained blank all of this time. Love your videos!

My mom collected rocks. I do too now , but feathers, twigs.. branches, leaves.. abandoned birds nests, i am forever bringing the outside inside.. i think im more macimslist.. ( ish) .. i do like uncluttered, clean spaces but I also have a creative soul and love to curate little vignettes..
We are one in the same. I have so many things from the outside brought inside. Without sounding cliché, there is so much beauty in nature. Its a unique person that can appreciate this. Happy collecting luv.
