Thanx. looks easy, now I just have to get my Chauvet EZ Gobo machine. What do you think about it? have you work with it? is it bright?
Where can I get a steel gobo for this unit. Ive been unable to locate one with the dimensions.
No I was asking why when I use my Gimp the text looks blocky. Your looks great.
Do you use Glass Diameter or Image diameter to make the size of the gobo?
I made something as simple as what u have in the video and used Gimp as well. The quality is slightly grainy and I actually printed on transparency paper with laser printer at high resolution. Ur right definitely not like a metal gobo
the black background will look grainy but the monogram part should not. unfortunately this is the limitations of the this type of gobo creation.
with the size 26.8mm the my text looks blockie.
Might be a stupid question, but after you print your gobo on the transparency. How do you load in your gobo??

What is the best paper to print on. I used my laser jet and printed on transparency paper and it looks like crap coming out of the Gobo. Am I missing something.
depends mostly on the limitations of your printer. make your font bold and as large as possible. This method of gobo projection I would reserve for last minute gobo add on or if a gobo you ordered did not come in on time. Nothing is going to beat a steal gobo if you are using a normal gobo projector. Making a Gobo to be projected from a video projector may actually look better depending on the limits of the video projector. what does your gobo look like?

Joe Toto is the logo full color? or is it white and black? second you will want a transparency paper for a laser printer or Ink Jet depending on the printer you are using. you should be able to purchase the clear transparency paper at staples, office depot or any large office supply company. This is more for a last minute need. if it is something you will be using on a regular basis a glass or steel gobo would be ideal as both will give you a sharper image. however these gobo devices are somewhat limited due to the lumen output.

you can set your contrast ratios in your print settings. I would only use this for an emergency making of a gobo or last minute. It is what it is.
This method of making a gobo is for last minute/second emegency making of a gobo. incase your gobo you had made did not come in on time, or what ever reason shows up damaged. For a gobo projector there is nothing that beats a steel or glass gobo.
