It'll be important for all generations to start communicating this (texting 911) method as much as they can. It's also more efficient; a good usage of computer algorithms and code (for quick responses).

If an operator knew basic spanish it would still be difficult to understand through a call. Plus if the caller is in a dangerous situation, it could jeopardize their one attempt at help.

The legal definition of non forceable r@pe would be if it WEREN’T against the victim’s will BUT they were incapable of giving consent. So for example, if they were very drunk or if they are a minor. If they fall into one of those categories where they are incapable of giving consent and they “willingly” have sex with someone, then that would legally be non forceable rape. (I’m not sure if “willingly” is the word I should or want to use here…. But like, not being physically forced.) And of course forceable is against the persons will. Being physically held down while someone has sex with you against your will is an example of That’s my quick little summary, of course there are more details involved but yeah

The way a person's brain handles high stress, life threatening & highly volatile circumstances/situations & actions varies from one individual to the next. Not to mention she's a child, her brain isn't fully developed until she's 25. You should do some research before trying to sound so informed, experiencing traumatic events literally changes the way a person's brain forms and functions. Having happy thoughts, strength etc will not change or alter the fact that she will need time to heal and overcome. So kinda, back at ya, how dare you assume to know or bolster that she's most likely doing just fine and out creating happy memories now? Puuuhlease! As someone who has extensive first and second hand experiences of highly traumatic events (of all sorts, forms and fashions) PTSD is real and you can be the strongest person in the world, physically mentally, spiritually etc and it does NOT change how your brain AND body react to such situations. Do some research, talk to some survivors, watch a few survivors videos and THEN form youropinion, but please as a survivor myself and an advocate for all others, please make sure your opinion is based in both fact and experiences equally - even if they're second hand: via watching videos, speaking with a survivor, reading books etc it is vital that we change the way others assume to know about such things, and how information - or in your case misinformation is spread and delivered. This is why I have no problem with my Pixel knowing exactly where I am. I don't freak out about Location being turned on. I WANT 911 to know exactly where I am if I call for help. And I am going to find out if this is allowed in states I might travel through. A quiet text would be much safer if one is trying to hide or not let hostile encounters know that law enforcement is already on the way, which might trigger immediate violence. This is very good to know.

Texting 911 is great for people who can’t speak whether it’s a language barrier, unable to speak due to injury or fear of being heard or seen talking on the phone. so sorry for her to go through this but I’m glad she was rescued.

Knowing the area she is from there is a high chance she grew up in total poverty and with abusive family members. Many of these children grow up dirt poor, and miss meals some days and are beaten by parents, molested at a young age by other family members or neighbors etc. it's not a good situation for many and they have no means of escaping that life.
Judges should use more discretion on who gets to "bail out" and who doesn't.
It's scary and insane just how much human trafficking goes on in Santa Barbara and Ventura. Often right under your nose. I'm glad this girl was able to be saved, and I hope she's able to get some help for the trauma she went through the 2 months before she was rescued.

For starters, he is entitled to Due Process and a trial. He is also innocent until proven guilty. As the story is only a few weeks old, I sincerely doubt that they will be ready for court anytime soon, even if there is a court date available. For all we know, he's also wanted in Mexico and will have to face charges there. Let the courts and DA/SA do their jobs

It’s available in Florida. Several other states as well.
Google is your friend: 30 states currently allow it and most others are in the process of implementing it. It's pretty much going to be available everywhere.
It's not a matter of "allowing" texts to 911. It's having equipment capable of handling text messaging. It's a different technology.

Texting 911 should be for someone locked in a trunk, buried alive, someone being held hostage, etc.
Using it to snitch on your neighbors selling dope, or to snitch on your plug in the middle of a raw deal, to snitch on the person who just cut you off in traffic, etc is how the service will become abused by ignorance and therefore your going to end up with ignored text, logged text but yet ignored because inappropriate usage!
