    I love my Climb and I have noticed how much easier hills are in the real world now. I just wish Zwift would implement a "Slope" block in the workout mode so we can build our own hills.

    The Zwift community is just awesome. A little hack here, little app there (that world customizer is also really cool). Good thing that you can do these kind of adjustments at least on the PC/Mac side of things and that Zwift doesn't lay the ban hammer on these hacks.

  • @selinovaldes
    @selinovaldes Před 6 lety +5

    Great video, Shane. I have a Climb and use it on Zwift. One thing I wanted to mention is the order in which I must turn on the devices. If I turn on the Climb before the Kickr but after Zwift it will not register the gradients on Zwift even though it is paired successfully. If I activate the Climb after the Kickr but before Zwift then everything works 👍. Thought this was worth mentioning as there were plenty of times when I'd start a Zwift session, all the indicators looked correct, Climb was paired and in Kickr control mode, but no gradient changes came in from the Kickr.

    • @selinovaldes
      @selinovaldes Před 6 lety +1

      UPDATE: After looking into it more carefully I've come to realize that the Climb does not respond consistently regardless of activation order. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. I've quit out of Zwift, restarted the Kickr, restarted the Climb, same results. Climb just sits there. It's kind of like a $650 front wheel stand. 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @anthonys5568
      @anthonys5568 Před 4 lety +1

      @@selinovaldes Happens to me also. I agree it probably has to do with the sequencing of waking up the KICKR and then the Climb before launching Zwift. Occasionally also re-pair the Climb. I do the same. If no response, I stay in Zwift Session, but unplug the KICKR and Climb, then power them back on KICKR First then Climb, and repair is necessary. Seems to resolve it. I also have the Tickr, which I found I need to be wearing when I launch Zwift or it will connect but sometimes not transmit a signal.

      Make sure the climb is paired to the kickr in the wahoo app FIRST, and that the wheelbase is Correctly entered in the wahoo app in mm. Then confirm that the gradient slider is at the halfway mark or all the way up for realism. If you want yo apply the wheelbase hack instead, then youre on your own. I made an error in the wheelbase size and my bike barely moved.

    Should this fake wheelbase setting affect the power readings when in Workout mode?
    Tonight I did my first workout whilst connected to the Climb; TD was 25% and wheelbase fudged to 4120mm. I blew up when trying to do a Sweetspot session - it felt crazy hard and I couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on.
    So I’m wondering is this fake wheelbase setting could be affecting the Kickr Snap power readings (ie are they being under reported because of that setting, meaning I’m actually having to go a whole lot harder to hit the power numbers ERG mode is asking for??).
    Any chance you could test this theory?

    Can you explain me why you set it to 80%?

    • @3DKiwi
      @3DKiwi Před 6 lety +2

      Lowering the difficulty simulates changing your cassette. Say your easiest gear on the back is a 25 tooth sprocket, you'll really struggle riding up to the radio tower on Zwift . Lowering the difficulty simulates you having a cog with more teeth. You still have to put out the same watts to climb at the same speed. Lowering the difficulty also allows you to still put out more power while riding down hill rather than spinning out. I find on my Hammer trainer that 100% makes climbs harder than the same gradient outside so the difficulty slider allows me to fine tune things.
