The latest greatest set of shifter parts for the Mk5/6/7 Chassis VW's are now here and have been shipping since mid-March, 2021. The new side to side lever has better geometry for smoother shifts on the MQ250 transmission. In the US and Canada the MQ250 was used from 2005.5 onwards for five speed cars and in the rest of the world the MQ250 came in 6 speeds, too. The Mk7 Jetta 1.4T from 2019 onwards in the US and Canada uses the six speed version of the MQ250.

I got a quick question for ya, I'm not really familiar with VWs but I'm buying a 03 Jetta TDI and they guy told me that the transmission got stuck in 4th and that was the only gear that works anymore, I had my son sit in the car and go through the gears and the cables run the trans through the gears perfectly, do these things have transmission problems? I've never heard of a manual trans take out all gears at the same time, even reverse, and leave 4th to work properly? Any reply helps, thank you so much.

Hey random questions. I have a 2009 Jetta wagon and I don’t have a shifter lock anymore when I try to go to 1st gear it goes to reverse? Would that be in the shift box or? I already adjusted the shift cables.?
