Thanks mate, lubricating it with grease, I touched the tuner and it was a nightmare, it just goes backwards and it doesn't go into 5 gear. Thank you it was a great help it was like new, I learned from you how to tune a gearbox! I said mine had broken down and I was ready to buy a new one.... Because the day before I had checked the box and found a small sphere and some filings, the next morning it was complicated until I found your videos. I just installed mine, but it doesn’t line up like in 3:09 and am unable to put it in 1st gear, any tips on what may be the problem, i made sure the grooves were in the correct orientation
@@dieselgeekdotcom my locking pin works just fine. But when in neutral, the up down bracket, “the black piece that slides onto the side to side” does not line up like yours does in the video
Hey team, purchased your sigma 5 shifter mid last year and noticed you've done away with your 'side to side' machined aluminum piece. What was the reasoning for removing this piece in this 2021 version? And by extension, what else is different from the 2021 to the previous versions?

Nice video and product. I had one in my last Mk4 Golf TDI and loved it. Probably going to order one for my current car, which is same year and model. I didn't install the shifter in my old car, so wondering how much of a PITA it is when the transmission isn't out of the car like in the video? Also, I saw several commenters asking questions due to problems they encountered, but Jim didn't reply. Did you end up calling and getting any tech support?
Install time for the 2021+ and newer shifters is under an hour. All components are in the engine compartment. Removing the airbox typically provides ample access.
hay so u no longer give both the cable ends in alum.??? if I order it can u send me both aftermarket aluminum shift cable ends. ??? I can adjust it. Ive been a VW tech since 96
Bro i have a problem with a vw 5 speed manual transmission i hope you can help me out, the shifter basically went out of the h patter and it's just floating around, you cant shift into gears with the shifter, you can only do it manually in the engine bay so i hope its not a transmission problem and just the shifter, what do you think the problem is?
