It’s better to take a throw than it is to take a strike.

    How do you delay tech?

You should time your throw to where you’re pressing it at the same time you would block. That way if the opponent throws you, you’ll break it, and if your opponent does a meaty, you’ll block!

There are guides on it but outside of watching a CZcams video tutorial. Take your character, set the dummy(which should be your character as well) to wake up light punch, throw the dummy, and when they wake up throw them again. You should see a counter hit sign appear. Then the next time when the dummy wakes up press your "meaty" button when the dummy wakes up to light punch your crounch medium punch with ryu (for example) should also provide a counter hit sign. You'll need to then record the dummy to do to what you did on offense. When you attempt to delay tech throw if you throw to early you"ll get counter hit. But if timed properly you'll block the attack on wake up when inputting throw, or tech the throw at the nd of the animation.
Still, best to watch a "SF6 delay tech tutorial". This still loses to shimmy and Empty Jump, but definitely improves your defense.

@@Zinksk8er thanks for the info/advice! Honestly tho, Shorin’s reply was enough to learn how to delay tech. Extremely simple concept and execution all in all.
