I think she is one of those people with a natural raspy voice. I really don’t think she has any vocal issues.
@@stephmartin1148 nope, not true. Remember vocalist Chloe Kohanski? It's a vocal health issue. Chloe had surgery and then had to change her style completely.
I have the same problem with my low notes and I'm also from Arizona. I constantly have to up the key of my songs. I was constantly hoarse all the time. I was scoped by a laryngologist and was diagnosed with muscle tension dysphonia. But he said it's a muscle coordination imbalance. I had a vocal cord lesion but when the surgeon went in to remove it it wasn't there anymore. McKenna, if you're reading this, go see Dr. Lott at the Mayo Clinic.

It's definitely not a strong year... it's the weakest since I started watching Idol in 2019 anyways. However I think McKenna is amazing... I'm a huge fan of that raspy, sultry, cry type of sound... Laci Kaye Booth is my favorite Idol ever and McKenna is very similar as far as that same type of tone. I think Abi and Julia are probably the best vocalists, they just aren't what I usually listen to... but that means nothing and doesn't attest to their talent level one bit. I like KB as well, just think she could use more polishing I guess. Kayko is musically gifted for sure.
