10 Scientific Ways to Get a Cat to Like You

- In this video, we’ll show you 10 proven ways to get a cat to love you.
Let them make the first move
Cats are so adorable that people want to greet them with a big hug. Some people go up to the cat, corner them, and try to pet them to win them over. But remember, this is a common mistake for cat lovers. According to the recent studies, it’s best to let the cat make the first move. A study conducted in Switzerland has shown that when humans sit back and wait-and focus on something else, like reading a book-cats are more likely to approach.
This is why many kitties are attracted to allergic people-as people with allergies don’t really seek out to pet cats.
Pet them where they enjoy it most
How does your cat enjoy being pet?
A study conducted by the University of Lincoln i found that cats show more positive behavioral responses-like purring or kneading-when they are pet between the eyes and ears. And they display more negative responses-like hissing, swatting or swishing their tails-when they are pet around their tail area.
Yes, that’s right. Cats don’t actually enjoy being stroked at the base of their tail. Researchers believe that a cat’s tail area is an erogenous zone.
Check your scent
A cat's sense of smell is the main way they identify people and objects. Their sense of smell is 14 times better than that of humans. If a cat is afraid of you, make sure to check your scent as your cat might be staying clear of it.
You may have the scent of another cat or dog on your pants, or you may have strong smells like perfume, deodorizers, disinfectants, bleach, garlic or onions on your clothing. If your cat retreats when they sniff your hands, it may be because they don’t like the smell of your hand soap.
Approach them like a cat
Cats communicate primarily through scent and body language. Most felines greet each other with a nose-to-nose stiff.
And while humans shake hands, cats boop to say hello.
To increase your bond with a cat, try approaching them the way they would greet other felines. Mimic the nose-to-nose behavior by gently offering your non-threatening fingertip at their nose level. Your finger acts like a nose substitute and most cats will walk up and sniff or investigate your finger,
Mimic felines’ scents
Cats, on the other hand, don’t like new smells, and any unfamiliar scent can put them off.
And this is why most cats are not big fans of change, relocation, or strangers. As new environments bring a lot of new smells and signs that they have yet to explore.
If you don’t want to bring new smells to a cat’s home, you may spray yourself with a cat pheromone.
Pheromones are a type of chemical communication that all cats use to interact with each other and the environment around them. These “messages” are released from the scent glands around their body. you may want to spray yourself to calm a new cat.
Human interaction over food
A 2017 research conducted in the Oregon State University studied what attracts cats the most.
The scientists offered cats a choice between food, toys, scent, and social interaction with humans and watched what happens. Believe it or not, they found that most cats prefer social interaction with humans over everything else - even food. Interestingly enough, some recent studies suggest that what really attracts cats to humans is the presence of interactive toys.
Don’t block the exits.
If you appear as an imposing, enormous creature in their space, they may perceive you as a threat. Instead, get down and approach them at their level. And make sure not to block the exits.
Blink slowly, but never stare
Cats stare when they are hunting. Their ability to stare without regular blinking helps them keep a close eye on their prey. If you stare at them, you are giving them the same look they give when they hunt.
Instead, give them plenty of long, slow blinks. This shows the cat that you are relaxed and friendly, and you don’t want to hunt them.
Retreat at the right time
There are many signs that a cat doesn’t like your actions or feels uncomfortable around you.
Some signs are overt-like hissing and biting-but some are more subtle--like when they flatten their ears, or twitch their tails. If you get one of these signals, it’s time to back off.
Use Treats Strategically
You can encourage your cat to be near you with a yummy, stinky treat. This doesn’t mean showering them with treats all day long. Instead, use treats strategically to either reward good social interactions with you, or to entice a shy cat to walk towards you.
You can also try talking quietly to the cat as they eat the treats so they associate your voice with rewards.
And while a dog may wolf down any kind of dog food you bring them, a cat will not. Cats are not very food-motivated so you might have to search for a treat that they like. - Jak na to + styl
I smiled throughout this video thinking that there are people watching who are desperately trying to win over a cat that doesn't like them.
me with my own cat bc he chose my partner but hes MINE!!!!!!!!
it feels like he hates me some days :"D
I have a cat named “Qua” and he used to be nice to me, like, he used to always approach me. But lately, he's starting to be scared of me lol and like when I have food, he will look at me with his beautiful eyes. And basically, the only thing that can make me touch him is feeding him a LOT of delicious foods. So yeah, idk why he doesn't approach me anymore like he used to 🤷♀️

Lol
Exactly 😹😹😹
that's nice, my cat is nice to me when i have food but without she's giving me a death glare. lol i still love her tho even she's biting me rn.
SO true!..even private bathroom time shes inspecting!😻😙
I can't even go to the bathroom without them screaming because they're alone... I'm a stay at home wife. So I'm home with them a lot. Going out to visit my mom is a nightmare. I have to take them if not they get out the house.
There's nothing that makes you feel cooler than a cat choosing you.
Seriously, it feels as though you've won 1st prize at something.
Because in my experience, cats don't automatically see you as a friend.
But when they do, it makes you feel so special.
This is true! A couple months ago, I was outside working on some things for the race car. I noticed one of the neighborhood ferals watching me from a distance. Thought nothing of it really, since ferals tend to be very solitary.
Later that afternoon, I was sitting in a lawn chair when that same feral came very close to me. I reached down and he backed away for a second. Next thing I knew, he was bunting me and inviting me to pet his head. Then he started purring and "asking" for more attention. He even followed me on to the porch and proceeded to stretch out on the steps and take a nap. At that moment, I felt like that I had just been "adopted" by this feral cat. What a cool feeling!
This guy hung around my place for a few weeks. I would come home from work and there he would be on the steps, napping away, waiting for me to come home. Sometimes he even wanted to come in the house, but I wasn't quite ready to let him in yet.
i think animal control might have come through the neighborhood or something. One day I noticed that my feral feline friend was not coming around anymore. Also noticed that most of the ferals around the neighborhood seem to be gone. I miss him, but for a couple of weeks, I was his "adoptee", and I will not soon forget him.
the first time i saw my cat(my cousins acually) he was always active but diffrent he was always active... AROUND MEE! he always purred and now he relaxes purrs and more! the only confusing thing:i touch his nose to greet hi he walks away and stays a few seconds then comes back.right now he is on the table.
A cat was like that to me recently
We are moving away and I wanted to take him with me but now he’s missing

I adopted a cat that had been shut in a kitchen since she was separated from her mum. She was terrified of every single noise in a normal home and hid on top of a bookcase. Then one day she came into the living room and say next to me. Then on my lap. I was talking to her softly, then the cutest thing happened - she reached up and touched my face. She then curled up on my lap and purred as I petted her. From that moment on we were best buds! She lived until she was 15😘😥
How long did it take for the cat to leave the kitchen?
This video has taught me one thing, I'm a cat.

I have a friend which smells kinda funny, let's say he has very strong BO, and whenever he is around my cats they go crazy around him, rubbing against him, licking him, and jumping on him. It might have to do with something coming from his sweat, they don't act like this with anyone else..Is like he is using some catnip perfume 🤣

I’ve had cats all my life (mostly female) but the one I have now (a male) has to be the most loving cat I’ve ever seen. He purrs all the time and stays on my lap almost every time I’m sitting. When I leave the house he watches out the window like I’m abandoning him. I feel so honored to be loved by this sweet Korat cat. 💖🐈⬛💖🐈⬛💖
Saw a video saying male cats are more affectionate than females because males don’t reproduce but a fixed female might be more affectionate
i have also hate cats all my life but the new male i have is not loving
Hi stephanie I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this compliment. @@pandaangry1267my male fixed cat is extremely loving and never aggressive or mean, ever.
I've noticed boy cats are so much more open to showing their love while females will just be in the same room
I have 2 cats, both rescues. One is very sociable and absolutely loves having his tail pulled and being dragged over the floor (nothing abusive in this ; he really does love it). The other is very shy and won't leave my bedroom when other people are here. However, he adores being petted, especially on his tummy; I only need to say "tickle tums" and he rolls over to let me pet this area. Proof that each cat is different !!!!

Or mine lol. They’re wrong on a few things like this one and the tummy petting since one of mine doesn’t mind that either and there are other kitties who also don’t mind. Also the personal space thing, some kitties won’t give US personal space as someone mentioned in a comment haha.

I adopted a "non-adoptable" cat (my favorite kind) from a shelter. She had been raised by her mom under a bridge and never had any human contact. I brought her home and no lie, it took one YEAR for her to let me pet her. I never tried to make her pay attention to me. But one day, I was sitting on my bed, petting my other cat and she was on top of the closet, watching. My other cat walked away and she jumped down from the closet onto the bed, walked right over and let me pet her. We were best friends after that. :)
Awwwe that's so sweet & nice that you waited & allowed her to come to you first.
@@roxannesmith9219 Well thanks but it was up to her. lol I figured if she wanted to live with me for the rest of her life, never having contact with me, that was okay. As long as I knew she was warm, safe, well-fed, healthy and clean, I had no problem with her doing her own thing, forever, if that's the way she wanted it. And she was in LOVE with my other cat, so she had "family." And then she adopted me into her family. lol
wow is somebody cutting onions over here
@@flatline-timer lol I'm sorry I made you cry. :)
Awwwwe that’s adorable- anyone cutting onions in here??
The slow blinking works so well. Everytime I meet a new cat I lye down on the floor and do it and they’re immediately more comfortable with me then anyone else around me
How slow should it be? I try to do it but it feels weird
@@smolltaco5667 When I do it I close my my eyes normally but keep them shut for a little longer. Than open them at about half the speed
I regularly use the nose-to-hand touch and I promise it works wonders. I get more positives when I pet them post a cheek rub than going and trying to pet them. If I go to pet the cat even if they turned away, they will indeed try to leave. They like their personal space, and even the ones that love you enjoy a friendly nose-to-hand touch and be able to decide to engage or not. Works best if you turn your side or back to an unfamiliar cat as you hold out your hand.
Edit: don't hold prolonged eye contact, and instead if you manage to catch their gaze blink slowly. That's a cat's way of saying "I like you and I trust you." Don't be offended if they don't blink back; sometimes they get irritated if you do it too many times in a row, or if you're a stranger they won't yet trust you.
Actually, if a Cat shows their belly to you and doesn't react negatively to your touch, then it's an ultimate sign of trust.
Don't touch their bellies unless you know them well. My friend pet a cat's belly after the cat displayed it and got a swift scratch. She has a scar 10 years later.

I think, what a lot of people miss, is that you use a lot of the same strategies for all animals. The way you approach a dog or a cat is actually remarkably similar, but dogs tend to be bred to be gregarious, so they're more willing to forgive breeches in etiquette. Letting the animal come to you, moving calmly, and respecting the animal's space will usually make you popular with both dogs and cats.
That worked with a puppy of a friend I stayed with a couple years ago - he was very sheltered but friendly once he got over it. I used the cat approach simply bc that's basically all I know. Within a day he was happily napping in the same room as me, and then started a tradition of coming up to my armchair and dropping his head on my lap to be scritched. He still has problems (mostly bc his owners' hands are pretty full and he's not given enough socialization) but I got the honor of being his first non-owner human fren
I haven't noticed that. Dogs are indeed very gregarious which is why so many people like them. They're super-friendly and will happily slobber all over you and try to hump your leg a couple minutes after meeting you :)
Cats are stand-offish at first and they spook very easily. When meeting a new human a cat's primary concern is whether or not we're going to try to eat it.
@@devilsoffspring5519 I'm not sure how to say this kindly, but I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how these animals work. Yes, dogs do trend towards being more outgoing, but dogs are not a monolith, and assuming that all dogs are happy to see you, especially when you are a potential invader in their home (remember, dogs are also bred and trained to be fiercely defensive) is a great ticket to the ER.
I'm glad you've had largely positive experiences with dogs in the past, truly, but you can't afford to take for granted the way these animals will react in any situation, even dogs you have a lot of experience with.
@@TheLolrider You're probably right, in my 46 years I've just always noticed that dogs are almost always ready to slobber all over you and cats are always waiting to maul you :)
I love cats, they're lovable little ones but VERY feisty and aggressive if they don't know you and trust you. Cats spook more easily than dogs do around people they don't know.
@@devilsoffspring5519 I'm sorry, I hope I didn't come across as overly rude. You're absolutely right that dogs and cats tend to behave differently, but they have more similarities than people often give them credit for. It's always good to be careful around an animal you aren't familiar with, especially if they're giving you bad vibes.
Being a cat owner most of my life, cats do what they want, when they want, & you do what they say!😂
My cats are weird then. They kinda act like dogs
Being cat-owned, you mean :)

Hm, i cant completely agree because of my cat.

My older cat was kinda cold to me for a while, so I gave more love to my younger cat. The older cat responded by now she wakes me at daybreak everyday for the past few months by vigorously licking any exposed skin with her cold, wet gross tongue. The younger cat now stomps around on me to wake me up before the old one does. My mornings are awesome.

I did these instinctively even as a child. I’ve always had this super weird bond with cats.
Thank you for the informative videos. I also got myself a kitty for the first time. I always thought of myself as only a dog person. But after losing my companion awhile back due to illness associated with old dogs, I finally took the chance the get a kitten. And I must say, I'm hooked! Your videos give me so much info on what to do and what not - and the results are clear! My cat loves me 😅😁 Thanks
I have always been a dog lover myself, but I actually don’t think that there is anything cuter than a kitten .❤️
I've seen too many angry cat videos in recent years. People seem to be annoying their cats just for making videos, or even just getting a cat (because the internet is ruled by cats) without knowing how to care for them.
Good point ! If only that would be end of it..
the internet has truly ruined humanity. I never understood this obsessive need for attention. people eating poison and sticking their heads into microwaves for views? I know some people can make some money off of it but honestly 99.999% are doing stupid shit for the attention.

It’s really amazing to experience a truly loving cat. Mine is welcoming me with hugging my neck and licking my ear. When I sit on the sofa she is coming to me to pet her belly. When I talk to her - she replies… I love her so much.

In the past I had a cat who was extremely food motivated. She would try to steal food from you regardless of what it was you were eating. She would steal food or scavenge food dropped by my young child. She would wail and cry constantly while I prepared dinner, regardless of what I was making. We were having it, therefore she wanted some too. I miss that nutcase.
My cat always comes running to kitchen when I open the bread. Not because he wants that, but because he know I'll usually get out the turkey next to make a sandwich. He stared at me with such cold fury the first time I instead made buttered toast.
I have a 1 year old cat who will be 2 in about 4 months and she LOVES food. If there is anything on the table like mash potato, chicken, tuna, sushi , gravy etc... (I even once saw her eat broccoli) she'll coming running at top speed to the table and try eating everyone's food, if we don't let her she cries for so long it becomes unbearable. She still likes dry food but doesn't have the same reaction to when we are filling it. My other cat who is 2 years old doesn't have an interest in food though, she doesn't like wet food and will just have dry food.
LoL same with my kitties! Also the sound of cans opening or opening a sealed plastic pouch or the shaking of treats in any container! LoL

I have two cats one likes to be carry on all the time and let us rub his belly. The other one is very shy and only let us touch him when he wants. When I am working on my computer both of them jump on the desk and lay down on the key board and the other on my notebooks. It is when I know I will go to be very late cuz can resist to play with them.
My host family has four cats, and one of them is a very sensitive 13 year old female who rarely likes people. The sensitivity is partially due to an old injury on her back. I got her to like me by being gentle and calm and letting her call the shots, and avoiding her back until she herself moved in such a way that I touched it while petting her. Now she's my friend. One time she got into my room and hid under my bed. When my host family's son went to coax her out she wouldn't come, but when I did it she came to me right away. It was a really good feeling.

What's a host family?
@@AlphaTengua A host family is a family who take you in for a while when you can't live with your own for whatever reason but you are not in the foster care system. Mostly the term is used for families that take in foreign exchange students and let them live with them while they attend their studies. In my case I'm using it to refer to the family friends who let me live with them until my baby brother got his own place and moved out of Mom's spare bedroom, allowing me to move in. I had been previously living with Dad, but he lost the house and we had to vacate.

“As people with allergies don’t really seek out to pet cats.”
*Me, who is allergic to cats* : “Well yes, but actually no.”
My older sister is the same. She loves dogs and cats, pretty much all animals like myself but she's allergic to cats.
Jep exactly this.
I'm also allergic to cats and have 2. Thank the Gods for benadryl
Allergic to cats, but have 3 cats. I live on antihistamines.
A friend of my parents was alergic to cats.
Yet she would go out of her way to pick up cats, rubbing her nose in their fur and sniffing them as if they were cocaïne.
And then she had to take a dose of anti-histamine.
Worth it, she proclaimed.
When you see a cat staring at you, catch its eyes for a second, then give a long, slow blink and then look away as if you are dismissing them as harmless and irrelevant. Then ignore them and do your thing. It works every time. They’ll be all up in your face in no time.
They probably can't stand the thought of being irrelevant.
I'm gonna try that! Cause I'm in some have need of cat-love.

Yup. Cats are people :) Like, we recently took in a local stray; less than twelve hours after entering the house, he was sprawled on his back, legs up in the air, belly on full display. Then there's the one who's been with us for seven years and is still uncomfortable being picked up.

Petting them where they enjoy it most can be kind of tricky because that can change from one moment to the next. Being absentminded when you pet them can be a recipe for disaster...and a trip to the E.R. (or at least to where the bandaids are kept). They are very sensitive animals!
They are independent but a cat can be your best friend, too. Mine tucks me in every night by walking all the way around my reclining body after I turn out the lights.

Exactly, and when I have a cup of water and turn around for a minute, they start drinking it it which makes me laugh so much when their heads get stuck in the cup. If I give them any food they just keeps on eating and even when there are no more treats left they always want more. 😂

@@automaticninjaassaultcat3703 Yeah cats are very good at keeping healthy weight. Most of them anyways. They are trickle feeders in nature. But you can change their behavior if you change their feeding habits. On the other hand... you have to consider, cats in wilderness would probably barely live till their 10 year. If your cat wants to live past 15, it can't really live "natural way".
I just realized with the first one that i always do that, yet my family always approaches her first. But for me I let my cat approach me first, would explain why she loved me more then my family. But- my family always tells me why do i let the cat do it first, i never had a good explanation until now. All i used to say was 'I just feel like she would hate me if i pushed her to let me pick her up or stuff' i appreciate this video so i can bond with cats more.
I never used to like cats, but I was helping a friend move from a place that was giving away cats. I didn’t want any, but one particular one imprinted on me for some reason and wouldn’t leave me alone... so naturally, I adopted him. He’s the friendliest and most emotionally needy cat I’ve ever met. I love him to death, but Nibbler is definitely an insistent lap cat. 🐈⬛
welcome to the cat family. Just know that cats are mini tigers/lions. Literally mini apex predators, they love sleep, attention at times and snacks. They are equipped with 10 switch blades that can come out on command. Their close relatives have paws the size of our heads so if you can't be friends with small cat you are doomed to be enemies with big cats. They have been around longer than humans and have virtually remained unchanged. God had deemed them top of the food chain until we came into the picture. But don't get it confused they will be here longer than we will

Our old cat reacted very negatively to me when I was having chemotherapy. She wanted to come up and be loved as usual, but whenever she got close, she would back off and was obviously distressed. She started over-grooming her back legs until all the fur came off. The vet said there was no sign of any skin disorder and asked if anything had changed at home, and when my husband told her I was having chemo, she said that was probably it. Prior to my chemo, when I first came home after my surgery with an ileostomy, she was also visibly upset with me but not so badly, and she got used to it after a short while. She was back to normal again by the time I started the chemo and that put her right off again, and much worse. She didn’t get better until a few weeks after I’d completed the six months of treatment. We were not aware that I smelt any different from normal, but it was clear that she could smell something different about me, and was confused, because I looked and sounded like me but didn’t smell like me! She was quite a sensitive little soul, quite unlike our other cat at the time, who didn’t behave any differently towards me. Our present two cats have never known me pre-stoma and so it has never been a problem for them - in fact where the bag is is quite a nice warm place to lie!!
Cat: “You have gained my trust, human. I will now expose my soft, sensitive belly, for you’d never touch it. I love yo-“
Human: “lmao belly SQUEEZE”
Cat: “AAAAARGH BETRAYAL I TRUSTED YOUUUUUUUU”
OOmg ikr? XD
Why would you squeeze its belly tho..... rub i can understand but squeeze?
How could you do this?!? They trusted you!!!
It is actually possible to safely pet some cats' bellies. You just need to take it slow and listen to their body language. If they show their belly, start with cheek scritchies, then move down to gentle chest rubs between their forelegs. If they don't like it, they'll push your hand away, normally quite gently. If they don't push you away, you can move a little further down until you're rubbing the belly. Just go slow and gentle, and listen when they talk. I'm owned by four cats; two of them refuse belly rubs, one occasionally accepts them, and one absolutely adores them and will sprawl out begging for belly rubbins regularly.
hahaha so true XD
Ive been feeding an adorable feral cat for the past few months (since June) My son named him
Jellybean. By now he loves me and follows me around everywhere. He sits right outside my porch door watching me inside, always needs to be next to me, and sleeps on my porch all night in the little house i bought for him. Yet he doesnt let me touch him. Hes even eaten out of my hand and lap but still no petting. Problem is he doesnt see me petting any other animal so he doesnt know that its ok. Hes feral after all. But hes MY cat now and Im honored that Jellybean chose me :) Hes very spoiled and very loved.
There were two instances where I was smoking outside and my cat attacked me. I usually don't smoke, so he wasn't used to the smell. I found that quite interesting (and also a sign to stop smoking). Either he didn't recognize me because of the strong smell of the smoke or it made him aggressive.
I've done the blinking technique for years with my cat,... and she actually responds by blinking back at me.
That's how I'll know she's relaxed and in a good mood.
I get a feeling that people that don't get along with cats are the same people that don't fully understand introverted humans. 😅
I'm really introvert but most cats doesn't love me.. I don't even try to pet them Im just near them and their like "So you've chosen, death" so now I'm scared of them :( it might be because I have a dog so they smell it
It could be that you have the scent of a dog on you, or maybe they can sense that you are nervous. Animals have a hard time feeling safe if they sense tension, either in your voice or your smell. My mom used to say "If they don't trust/know you it makes they think you might be plotting something, and they get defensive". From my own experiences so far, I have to agree. It's not your fault of course, but since you became afraid of cats in general it now turned into a big vicious cycle. I'm not the best person to give advice on that, but maybe when you try again bring someone that feels super comfortable around cats? Having someone to assure and give you tips might help to make you feel more relaxed and confident bit by bit, and by extension the cats too.
@@maeva3157 i think that could be it. I had a dog before and during that time cat usually would back off when I greet them the cat way or hiss at me in distress. But now i don't own any pet cats are super gentle and calm when I greet and interact with them

I feed a stray tortie and a few days back she came to me with a gift - a little mouse, and dropped it at my feet. The mouse didn't run away but it was squeaking loudly and was trying to stand up on its legs and kept falling over on its back. It took me a minute to realise that was no mouse...it was a little black baby kitty... about 1 day old.
My cat loves me rubbing my bearded chin across her head and her neck. She is a strange little thing. I found her 2 years ago hiding on my verandah escaping a storm. She was a stray, but after being fed regularly and having been wormed and defleaed, she has become so happy to make my place her new home.
She is old and quite battered, having her left ear being split in half at the ear tip and a few scars on the nose.
I truly enjoy her unique companionship.
"Rubbing the belly maybe stressful or even threatening."
My cat; yeets himself on the floor and demands belly rubs.
Probably, the cat is not actually demanding belly rubs, but rather showing you that he trusts you, even to the extent of touching his underside.
Also the don't touch near the tail, my cat loves being petted there
I'm starting to think, any commenter has its own cat.
We have something in common. /s
That’s what the 2 previous cats of my parents have always done though. At first it wasn’t directly a sign of trust for me because they didn’t know me so well but after a while and lots of treats and petting later they gained my trust and let me pet them on their belly.
SAME, LIKE, HE NEEDS BELLY RUBS OR HE'LL END YOU
All cats are different. My cat LOVES tummy rubs and LOVES being scratched at the base of her tail.
My cats -
Lockheed: Loves scratching the base of his tail, I'm the only one allowed to rub his belly and when he has enough, he pushes my hand away gently.
Hetty: Same.
Ahsoka: Same.
Bishop: Tail he loves but he's scared of almost everything and while he flops down and shows me his belly I know touching would scare him.
T'Challa: Flops down, shows belly, sleeps like dead besides me. When I touch him anyhwhere he chirps and walks away. Touching by human just isn't his cup of tea.
Same with my cat ,the only thing he hated was if you messed with his feet .
i've met cats who demand lots of affection. i've even been reprimanded when i stop petting..
If the cat feels comfortable, affectionate, and trusting of a person then they will often enjoy and not mind those things, but if you haven't established a proper bond with that cat yet then the cat is more likely to be uncomfortable and get stressed from rear and especially belly rubs. Anxiety or not being accustomed to human interaction from early on will also often lead to cats being less open to petting in general.

If you ask her a question She makes a trill noise in a inflection like a human does when they say question someone. I swear she knows what I'm going to do before I do it no joke. We even enjoy intoxicants together. She loves the nip and I love the bud. When ever I take her outside to my mom's farm she will act like a dog and not leave my side and will answer to her name. She means the world to me and I couldn't imagine life without her. I wish everyone could experience it. Shes love in its truest form 🥰

Whenever someone came to the house the cats thought they were there for them. They loved attention CONSTANTLY. I couldn't sit without all three of them wanting to be on my lap. If someone started petting them they would almost immediately flop onto their backs and beg to have their bellies rubbed. They also loved having their rumps scratched.
