Not sure if it really made ant difference in performance. Sounds really nice now. And here in Edmonton I passed the noise bylaw test. And yes those are stock bars. I hate them too. I get my hands going numb from my wrist being cranked all the time.
Did you have to re-jet after? and after you rejet the carbs it runs good as new right? i took my baffles out just like you and havent rejeted my caebs yet. What jet kit should i get?
Did that make it perform better as far as the get up and go and mpg? I have 1999 800 cc getting a stage 2 jet kit and ngk iridiam plugs going into it. It already has k&n cone filters and AMSOILS 10-w40 oil in it with the AMSOILS 75-w90 gear oil in the rear end and it halls a!!. It gets about 45-50 mpg right now with out the kit and plugs. Ive been wondering if that makes better differance in the performance area.
did you need to adjust the ecm with a power commander at all, running an all stock '03 vl800 was considering removing baffles would I need a ecm adjustment?

+Matt Baty yea got confused while looking at a jet kit on amazon and saw this Power commander as a recommendation and it apparently is made for an '03 vl800 ....I figured well hell when I was considering a Harley I knew any mods would need an ECM tune to keep it from blueing the pipes so when I checked that on amazon it completely slipped my mind ...even after ordering the new choke cable for my carb-.- if you could do a vid on replacing that itd be awesome because im going in blind and Google loaded ...but real question Do I need any tuning for a carbed bike or do I just go as for the air filter im considering saving up for a hypercharger

James Steffen not better. Cold starts are worse. But people don't switch lanes into me anymore.

my first thought. Someone pulled the baffles on one I bought and it immediately ran too lean.

how big was the hole saw?
coolcdrw i think it was about 2 inch. the bigger the better for this, so if you have one that fits snugly i would use that!
