Wonderful explanation! I currently have Irish licence and it’s almost the same lengthy and difficult process here as well. Attaining a Driving Licence in EU and UK is a big thing, whereas in US and Canada it’s way cheaper and easier process.

I don’t think so you have to be in UK for 180 days or more to get your license I think the government site says that you need to have a PERMISSION to stay for more than 180 days in UK If you need to apply for a license.
