So frugal on fuel!!!
It's a great motorcycle ✌️👌
I agree with you
Thankyou very much for helpful reviews
Hope it helps
Awesome job. It looks much better and more functional. Just amazing
It really works nice thank you
Good video. Glad you picked the NC700x for the demo bike.
This is a very good bike, well overlooked by many
You look great doing it...lol
😉 moving to europe soon...than i can do more builds
Thanks Lise..the NC conversion is something Honda should have done years ago..
Nice review, nice camera work too. Great to have someone from US review NC700X.
ooh wait for part 5 👌
Honda should take a moment to listen to your recommendations.
The NC-X bikes would have sold even better with a 21 inch wheel from the very start.
Thanks for posting.
Safe rides 👍🏍🙏
My personal opinion on the 520 chain....
I don't believe you gain anything with a 525 chain. The 520 is plenty strong.
I have done incredibly milage with a 520 chain on my NC700S, in fact have even turned it over ( meaning open the chain and turn it over ) and it still runs smooth.
Given I do lube it a lot. But in 40 years of motorcycle riding I never had a chain problem.
Thanks, much appreciated for your comment,i can use a 520 chain if i get a rear 520 sprocket to fit on TA wheel, the Transalp unit is a 525 sprocket, will see how it goes next week.Frank
My 525 chain have 65000km on nc700 with 80w90 oil
@@Siergiej.Motorv
That's what I've been using. Even better is 80w120 but you can't find it everywhere.
Lots of work Frank, glad you're doing it . can't wait to see the final product 👍👍
Thanks Ian...i enjoy this little build actually..
the bike looks way better
And handles great on dirt roads now, even thick sand
very good , informative video, made me laugh, thinking of pulling the trigger on one in phnom penh. Probably will after this
Glad you enjoyed it
This is awesome!!! I've done a fair bit off-road on my slightly modded NC and this build takes it to the next level. Bravo!! I haven't had an issue with the cast wheels as long as I keep the tires at 25psi but the 17 inch front does require some riding style adjustment.
Thanks, you HAVE to watch the next upcoming video when i display all the work done,im sure it will be up before end of next week.In the current state,i did 600km gravel and tar,and learnt a bit where i have to tweak it a bit more.Frank
Thank you for that video. Very well explain. I could watch it like a action movie. Will get the yoshimura ;)
Thank you for the comment, much appreciated.
Thank you for the fantastic and honest review.
Thanks..just did a 600km trip with new suspension in..new video soon
Excellent video and really well explained presentation, making things a lot easier.
Thanks
if you want more power, go for the nc750x
Agreed..
I have an nc700x but been having trouble with the front forks for quite sometime.
Transplant something better into it
The seat is "great?"
I have a 2012 model with 24k on it now. My big issue is that the suspension is very soft for my 200lb butt. That and for some reason, even after a clutch and cable change, going from first to 2nd is always clunky or grindy if I get above 3,000rpm then shift. Then I always have to adjust the cable after it warms up or there is too much play in it. I want to keep it around and not change it much because i love the way you can haul around corners on stock wheels. I mainly highway drive it to work and never off road so I assume most things shown here wouldn't benefit me.
Hi, i will have a look if i can find any common issues concerning the clutch and revert with feedback, i run Motul 5100 oil in mine, what oil do you use in your NC?
@@FranksWay I mainly use mobile 1 racing 10-40. I appreciate it if you find anything. I bought it with 13k miles on it. I usually take 1 qt of oil out at 2,000 miles and dump a fresh one in then change it totally at 4-5,000 depending on how bad it has gotten by then. The only thing I've noticed, is when I let the chain have a bit more slack, the issue almost stops. I might have too much weight on the back and am pulling the chain too tight when on it. That possibility doesn't explain why it's only between 1st-2nd or going into first.
you need to adjust chain with your weight on,try that first..recommended as per OEM clearance
@@FranksWay Yeah, I've had the tire replaced a few hundred miles ago and it was adjusted by them. I hate doing adjustments myself to it. For some reason I just never get it right. Suppose I need to buy some cheater tools for slack and tire balancing. It's more of a pain than my 08 ninja zx6 was. I can put enough pressure into it to remove slack, but when i need slack the adjustment plates are way loose . Might need to add another or get a thicker one.
Just take your time and get it sorted correctly,a good chain clean with diesel and a relube and sdjust goes a long way, once this is correct, one can have a look at various other components
Great work Frank, i have the nc 700s and i have so much noise coming from the front end, its very loud, not sure if its the tyres or what,, but i think i may have a go at something like this, but i have abs,, its so good on fuel that i want to keep it , like you say anything can be done, looking forward to the next video
Hey man,thanks...throw in the XLV700 wheels, they would have ABS,i need to check also
what tyre front are you running?
@@FranksWay hi Frank front tyre is Michelin Pilot Road 2 120 70 zr 17 , yes i think i will look into the xlv 700 , its great on fuel so really would like to keep it , thankyou for all your advice
When i saw 17 inch,i thought...huh?..but then i remembered i did 21 front swap with Anakee wild..try and do the conversion bud,i am always here to help in any way i can..
@@FranksWay yes i will look into it and let you know how i get on , thankyou
I wish you would have done this 2 years ago, I had a NC750 then and sold it for the very reasons you are doing the upgrades. I live in KZN and our dirt roads are better than our tar roads so I bought a BMW 310GS but it is lacking in quality and strength.
Hi,sorry to hear that, this one will most probably be up for sale after the build, i just wanted to prove a point that it actually CAN be done 😉
Where did you get the front mudguard from ?
Standard Transalp 650 unit,i just trim the rear off, like i always do 👌
