The 35mm extension gives you more height, the suspension travel mechanically stays the same.

I run a 150/70 rear tire, currently Mitas E07, and have found that going 3 teeth up on the rear put the speedo back to correct. When I'm on road I use the stock front sprocket and when going off-road I drop down 1 tooth in the front. When I have done longer trips I carry both front sprockets which are easy to change. Only time I have really wanted lower gears was in Colorado above 9k ft and the air is thin so the engine is way down on power.

Sounds like a simple conversion to do. I wonder how the DCT will convert.

If you take time and do it properly it is straight forward...on the DCT one has to include ABS rings on wheels..😉

Hello Frank. Thank you for doing the build I have been looking for 😊. I have a question - are the steering stems on the NC and the Transalp the same diameter, and does the steering stem bearings have the same dimensions? Best regards, Soeren

Hi there,im sure you watched my series one build,if not go watch it.You can use the Transalp 700 top and bottom yoke, press out the NC700 stem in the centre, machine it into the TA unit..done,the bearings stay the NC bearings...just check on the vids what i updated 😉 thanks for your support.

Hi Ian, i have been involved with Motorcycles since 1989, mostly Japanese brands, there isn't much that gives me sleepless nights, electrical or mechanical. Most of them have they known issues which can be easily diagnosed, patience is key here :)

Been following this and there is opinion that because of the low c of g the back wheel spins up too easily. Your opinion?

    • @FranksWay

Hi Steve,i will give you my opinnion a bit later today, good question..

Hi Steve, i did a video which i am compiling around your question, low center of gravity is what i want on an adventure bike, but due to the NC motor tapping out at 6500rpm, it certainly needs low down torque...i don't think they are related, but check out my video in an hour or two and send me your thoughts please.
