Bafang BBSHD flashing stock controller

- In this movie you will see the process of installing new stock controller in the old Bafang BBSHD motor. Due to incompatibility between new controller and old stator throwing Temperature sensor error, reprogramming (flashing) of the controller is required to force it to work properly.

Excellent video. I have an error 10 after replacing controller and motor core trying to fix a 08 error code. Going to do this hope to be rolling again.
It's very likely that your new controller is not fully compatible with old motor.

Thanks! How do I figure out which firmware I should flash to my old BBSHD motor? You chose a file called (latest), but aren't we supposed to be downgrading the controller to older software? My old controller is labeled with "CRR10E4830E090001.1"
Test different firmware versions. It won't destroy the controller. If you don't get any errors after installation, then you found the correct version to your controller.
wHAT IS LATEST VERSION OF STP-ISP YOU HAVE TRIED? ITRIED v6.97 BUT IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME. ALSO I CANNOT GET THE CORRECT COM PORTS WORKING? CAN YOU EXPLAIN HOW TO DO THIS? MY DISPLAY NO LONGER LIGHTS UP SO I ASSUME IT IS FAULTY?
I haven't worked with Bafang motors for more than 2 years. Don't know what is the latest version of this file. You need to check in Windows hardware list, which COM port is selected for the programming USB stick. COM port will show up next to device name after connecting it to the computer.
Ever had any controllers go into 30H error code after using a programming cable? I had had several including a 750W . i used rhe cable with my phone using the SPEEED app. Aparently it is rare for this to happen. I also had it happen to a 750w using a eggrider display. Which seemed very odd

You need to get display compatible with Bafang controller. I haven't seen the video you are mentioning.

If my battery doesn't have a power button but only cables, is it ok if I just reconnect it while this flashing?
I think it should be OK to start flashing process, when battery is already connected. You have to disconnect battery, when you are connecting the programming cable. Otherwise you will burn the chip on that cable. If flashing process doesn't start with battery already connected, than you know, what to do.
@Lierskogen Ebikes You mean disconnect the battery when connecting the programming cable into laptop USB port? I have a similar case and 10h error, I hope everything will work, I'm worrying about not to make a mistake and about sequencing of steps

@Lierskogen Ebikes I just did it successfully, I'm very happy! Am right that it's impossible to see in a software what firmware version you had before flashing? Sometimes controller has a sticker with a firmware name but my new doesn't have it.
@@dimamanzano It's possible to check firmware version in Bafang programming software. That's the program where you change speed limits and general motor settings.
From whatbi have heard, bafang is making their motors not programable via the programming cable and app. Some motors lock you out with thw 30H code straight away and some give you a few goes at programming. And then theres some that are not able to be reflashed by a laptop. I have not been told why Bafang has started doing this, but im sure theres a good explanation
Explanation is money and legal restrictions. They don't want end user to temper with motor settings.

You can read controller settings and save it to file.

You can find a link in movie description to Endless Sphere forum where are detailed instructions what to do. You need to read it carefully, there is no other way.
I've never had that problem because I use the correct display for bafang middrive, but I am able to flash the controller if needed I don't use that old method of flashing with a laptop, there is an app for your phone, I use speeed for android, and it is easier and more efficient
I checked that application. You can adjust controller parameters, but you don't have any option there to flash the controller. By flashing I mean updating firmware of the controller, not paramiters.
It seems you only have a few goes at programming the controller using the SPEEED app before it locks you out with the 30H code. I would be careful using it

Controller firmware was made compatible with the older type thermal sensor built in stator. Motor settings are completely different thing.

I’ve had two failed controllers on two separate Bafangs… their electronics suck!
It's very easy to stall a motor, when going uphill on the wrong gear. This can blow the MOSFETs or capacitors.
