  • Another 'One Take Wonder' with whack of shitty rattle noise wich I apologise for in advance... the price we pay for squeezing this short vid out between family weekend visits and work. The noise is coming from having the camera on top of a selfie stick which is taped to my goose neck and the bottom bouncing around on the top tube of the bike. I opted for this set up so the display is visible and mostly readable except for the reflection of my ugly mug from time to time - more apologies there.
I think this video is an important addition to the 'DM02 ~ the 98% Project' series as it shows the vast improvement of the firmware since the 'M1/M2 video' and even the E/C/S upgrade in March.
From this short play, I'd happily have a crack at some 'gnarly single track' - with this set up with me being the weakest link in the kit... and maybe my commuter bike set up coming a close 2nd... the motor and firmware is very predictable now.
I tried stamping on the pedals to get it to 'fly away' but the power was measured and progressive. I slowed to a virtual stall going up 25% and was able to easily control the power and assistance through my foot pressure on the pedals.
Later tonight I'll be riding one of my regular commutes with a 7km section up 500m at average gradient of 6%. Earlier firmware would 'run out' of torque assistance so that I would get no extra assistance if I pushed harder on the pedals after a certain level or pedal pressure was passed. So curious to see if I push a little harder there will be a reward for my extra effort. Of course, this will mean that I will get less assistance at lower levels of personal effort.
With a longer ride I will be able to comment on the ease of gear changing etc but I can't recall wanting a brake sensor and most gear changes were smooth with the firmware that preceded this version.
And a simple reminder to those with ToSeven DM series motors that they will need to reset wheel size, battery, battery bar configuration, max speeds etc after flashing the new firmware.

Thanks for the video. I am still running the April 24 FW. did you have to update the both the controller and display firmware. I found the older April 24 FW was big improvement over aug 23 FW. but now inconsistent on start up for a stop some time the power was there after 1/2 rev of the chainring some times 3+ revs in the flat.

This is another leap forward from my limited testing. And yes, controller and screen need flashing. Clearly I rushed the vid... I'll get a better one together when I can steal the time and pull this one. It's an inverse relationship, the firmware gets better and my videos get worse
