Jane's a con-man, and an asshole -- but he still has, by his own measure, this somewhat weird sense of honor and personal integrity. Lisbon might not agree with Jane's private code, and thinks it will sooner or later end badly for Jane, but still recognizes that Jane does actually have such a code.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing is been known to happen in real life, even when actual, solid evidence is found which would overturn a murder conviction.
I watched this series when it was on air, I’ve rewatched it last year AND rewatched it again this year (just finished it). It is one of my favorite ones and I just wish there were more episodes. And now it seems like CZcams knows I finished it and it’s suggesting me clips like these all the time. Which makes me want to watch it again but I know that’s crazyyyy! Does anyone understand or I am really nuts? 😫
Have you? I've seen all the clips here, then watched it, saw all the clips, then watched it... On rewatch you'll notice so many things, subtle acting, plot continuation, the love pulling them as they take baby step after baby step. It's way better than on first view.

Jane plays his role well. In reality, a human being absolutely would want justice /restitution for the murder of his wife + child. Of course, when you are dealing with someone who is "normal"! I am still waiting for justice + restitution for what happened to my infant daughter in 2007, myself (vandalism if vehicle, abuse, terrorizing, destruction of property, gaslighting etc) and others who have suffered + been victimized because of this ! The pain is real, the suffering is real ! I hate psycho drama and have NO reason to lie ! In addition, I have evidence of everything that I state is factual + true !! #justice
@@l.a.3479 The methodology, the similitude... With another case... With another detail under the elbow that contradicts: like we can not blame his enemies for the same methods he uses...
Jane wears the same blue three-piece suit, and drives the same crappy Citroen car, throughout the entire series run. He used to wear flashy, expensive suits, has a car collection worth two-and-a-half million dollars, and is fabulously wealthy from his previous life as a (fake) psychic; he is punishing himself by doing this, because he believes that it was his own reckless taunting of Red John that prompted him to murder Jane's wife and child (a daughter, I think). If his vest appears to change color during the clip, it must be just an effect of the lighting, because his clothes are a significant aspect of his character.
While I understand the reasoning in this episode, he doesn't have any real evidence afterall, In general the "we have already closed the case" defence when someone shows new evidence, indicating that an innocent person is in jail and the guilty party is still out there, is bullshit and (to me) would put you as an accompliss (spelling?) to the crime.
State attorney generals have been known to say -- in about as many words -- that overturning a murder conviction, merely because new, rock-solid evidence clears the convicted accused, would cast doubt on the justice system in question, and not be permitted.
@@bernardkung7306 I'd say that to rather leave an innocent person in jail while the true criminal walks free basicly just because "it would be inconvenient" casts an even bigger doubt about the justice system, since it directly says that it can't be trusted.
Much as I love the cast, Lisbon is just a bit too frail to have moved up any police hierarchy. She’s too girl-next-door, too polite and demure. When she tries to be boss lady, she generally just swoons. She has a few moments out in the field, but only a few. Jane generally takes over, which is of course his character.
Well she might not be shark, but she is wise and also clever she knows how to make wise choices and avoid big mistakes. Arrogance and blind ambition often couse people to make mistakes.
