Thank you for making this. I had this done to my tooth (same one) and I couldnt understand what my dentist did because I know he didn't do a regular crowning. My dentist of over 15 yrs decided to move. He was a great dentist who cared about his patients very much. I took him for granted though and skipped alot of appts for cleanings (unless I had a big problem like pain etc.) when he left he sent my files to another dentist office and I had a very rough experience there. I only seen him once after it took him a half hour to pull a tooth ( which I later found out could be saved)and didn't freeze me very well. Also, he seemed more interested in flirting with the Secretaries than to pay attention to my extraction. I took the chance with another dentist at my local clinic (usually nothing is very good there lol ) and to my surprise, he was just as great as my first dentist! He said" have no worries, you need a few things done, but Im sure you're number 1 concern right now is being able to smile and I'm gonna fix you up!". Well he did just that and I don't mess around now and go to every appt. I'm given. You did a awesome job btw 👏👏👏👏👏 🙌👍👍

I had a minor chip on the front corner of my tooth and got it bonded. It was where my two front teeth touch and was maybe a 1mm chip….since it’s so small is it more likely the bonding will break or less likely?
it shouldn't, I had bonding done on my front two teeth (worn from years of grinding) and it lasted more than 20 years! I took good care of it, wore my night guard every night (important!) Good luck!
@@audreyhollatz5690the big question is can you eat with them? Like biting on food? I know you can’t bite on hard stuff, apple or use teeth to pull steak or meat from ribs etc. is it strong enough to bite down on a mcdonald burgers for example? I just had bonding done on a small chip tooth with thin enamel. Terrified to eat with them atm.

@Megha Tyagi...Dentist will check for sensitivity to determine whether a root canal is necessary. And yes, a root canal procedure will eventually wear a socket in the bone (over years); I needed an implant in a tooth for that reason

It should not break easily, but it is not going to be as strong as natural tooth.
@Souleimen Douss...I broke a front tooth a month ago, & had this procedure done. I'll have a porcelain crown put on in another month or so, because the repair is not as structurally sound as a porcelain crown. The composite restoration (I'm in NY) came to around $450 w tax, & crown will be $1200. Hope this helps.

Mine fell out after a year even though I haven't been eating hard foods. 😶 Kriss ai said bonding should last between 3-10 yrs so I went back to my dentist and he offered 30% discount if i decide to get it done again. Should I accept the offer or just find another dentist?
girl, get a refund and find another dentist, lol, btw what is kriss ai? or who?
that's frustrating to hear since kriss mentioned bonding should last 3-10 years, so it's disappointing yours fell out after a year. a 30% discount on redoing the procedure is a reasonable offer, but it's also important to ensure that the underlying cause of the bonding failure is addressed to prevent a recurrence.

I recently repaired my chipped tooth with composite bonding and I can observe it clearly line of connection in the mirror and also while eating foods like biscuits (dry) lower surface of the tooth feels sensation.

My dentist did bonding and they fell out twice. She didn't do it properly sadly.
A question: On a fixed bridge if a fake tooth is chipped off the fixed bridge can a ceramic, bonding or porcelain
or something else be fused together to the metal of where the fake tooth that got chipped off or must the entire
fixed bridge be replaced? In other words it is one fake tooth chipped on a 4 tooth fixed bridge and metal is now showing but can this
be fixed without having to get a new fixed bridge? There is no problem with the fixed bridge it is with the chipped tooth on the
fixed bridge because of accidently biting onto a fork while eating and chipping the fake tooth that is part of the fixed bridge.

@@red-hat-mike I first got the composite on the metal but it did not last.
I ended up getting a new fixed bridge which I really did not want. I got a
a fixed bridge at a very low price due to my income. I went to a dental clinic
type of place where they train students to become dentists. If money is a problem for you
you should look into a dental school that takes patients. They usually have a real dentist
supervisor overseeing the dental work being done. It has worked out well for me over the
years with any dental work that I have had done.
You need to know that you have 3 options. You can have a composite put on the metal
which I actually had done before getting a new fixed bridge.
It looked okay, not perfect in terms of color but okay.
Of course they made it look like a real tooth.
It only lasted 8 months and cost about 100 dollars. I was
warned that I would be lucky if it lasted a year. Second choice is you can have a porcelain
crown put on the space that the tooth got chipped which is permanent and great.
Thirdly you can get another new fixed
bridge. Most dentists will not even tell you about the first 2 things I mentioned or they
will not even give those to you as an option. I believe because they make a lot more money
with those fixed bridges. I saved thousands of dollars going the route I went meaning
the dental clinic for the fixed bridge.
The reason why I declined the porcelain crown is because the student had no experience
doing that and told me that there is a good chance that other teeth on the existing fixed bridge
might be affected in a negative way. Of course that is less expensive than a fixed bridge so it
is a good option but only get it done from somebody who has experience doing this porcelain crown
on a fixed bridge.
Anyway, I wish you well whatever you decide to do.

It depends, but usually a crown or veneer is a better option because it is stronger and looks better.

I asked kriss ai and she said anywhere between 3-7 years, depends on couple of factors, including the location of the bonding on the tooth, the amount of bonding material used, and your oral habits.

Is this the same as rebuilding a tooth? I had such a procedure done when I was 12, which was almost 35 years ago.
On Thanksgiving Day when I was 12, one of my cousins and I were playing with a wiffle ball in my grandparents' backyard, and my cousin accidentally hit me in the mouth when she threw the ball. Since I didn't live near my grandparents, my dad had to get out a phone book and call around to see if a dentist would be willing to open their office on Thanksgiving long enough to do the procedure of putting the tooth back in. Not only was that possible, but the dentist my dad called told us to put the tooth in a glass of milk and bring it with us. About 2-3 weeks after that, I was eating a piece of candy at my baby-sitter's house, and pulled the tooth out again. I told my mom what the dentist I'd seen on Thanksgiving had said. Not only did she do that, but she also forgot to bring it with us when she took me to the dentist the next day, so the dentist had to rebuild my tooth. Now, I'm up for a dental crown--which I'm not exactly looking forward to.

When I was 10 I rode my bike into the curb and chipped my front teeth into this v looking chip in my front 2 teeth. My dad took me to the dentist and he was the worst with me as a child. He mocked me and made me feel so uncomfortable. He put me under a little with something, everything was all fuzzy and dizzy I threw up on him. He yelled at me and started saying I was such a disgusting child. He wore this funny clown mask that was not funny and traumatized me to this day. He then told my dad that I’m gonna need a football helmet to wear everyday so this wouldn’t happen again. I left and never went back to him ever again. I don’t know what happened to that man or his practice but my dad never made me go back to him. It was hard to go to the dentist.
