  • Hi Friends
Today’s video is about Root Canal Treatment in Mandibular Permanent Molar with Protaper Next File System.
    Basically ,,
There are 5 PTN files available, in different lengths, for shaping canals, namely X1, X2, X3, X4, and X5. In sequence, these files have yellow, red, blue, double black, and double yellow identification rings on their handles, corresponding to sizes 17/04, 25/06, 30/07, 40/06, and 50/06, respectively.
This video is a step by step demonstration and includes detailed 3 major steps involved in root canal treatment which are
    1) Access Opening
    2) Biomechanical Preparation
    3) Obturation

Here because my dentist just finished my root canal yesterday. Going back in two week for a follow-up. I was really scared of the procedure (I'm a scaredy cat that jumps at EVERYTHING), but my endodontist was the sweetest guy (and he's a huge giants fan just like me). Overall, the procedure isn't bad. You don't feel much after you're numbed up. You'll hear the drilling but that's nothing to be afraid of. Don't be scared. You got this💙💙💙💙

@@cassieledesi4755normally they use a numbing gel and swab the gum and jaw area near the tooth being worked on then apply the injection. You barely feel any discomfort if at all, just some pressure and sound from the drill excavating through the tooth

I just did 2 molars, never ever had one, I've got a lot of crowns and fillings. An endodentics dentist is life savers in the work, it hurt less then a cavity filling, I can't thank my enough him and his assistant were so sweet and so caring, I just can't believe how unpainful it was. These guys and gals deserve so much more credit in the world.

because those videos are in vivo, this looks like the tooth was already extracted, hopefully because the access and opening are way too big and using gates-gliden burs is obsolent when you are not trying to remove some separated files :) also placing some temporary filling of this material into tooth with so thin walls may lead to fracture .

I had a root canal last week, at first it was weirdly relaxing to know that he was digging around in there with no pain, and then there was some pain but nothing someone can't handle. At one point he injected anesthetic THROUGH my tooth which was bad but after that it was fine. It wasn't so bad that I'd be afraid of getting another one.

Had to give me nitrous to relax me. Tonight I’m feeling fine. Weird thing for me is the starting pain that sent me to my doctor then dentist was throat pain then horrible jaw pain. I’m 66 and I cried for 2 days til anbx kicked in and Motrin 800! Glad it’s over!

I've had 2 molar root canals, 1 done twice and they both ultimately failed. Both developed abscess at the root and had to have the teeth removed and implants placed.

    • @leianehiltz2486
      @leianehiltz2486 Před rokem +3

Same here. So discouraging and hugely costly. I'm certain the first one that failed and had to be pulled was 100% caused by dentist error. I only half joked when I asked to keep the tooth to take home. Once I was home and not in so much pain from the infection I examined the tooth. One root had a small piece of metal sticking out the side of one root. As if it had been accidentally drilled through at the wrong angle.
This 2nd one is still in my mouth, strangely throbbing painfully (have an appointment in 2 days). 3 years ago when it began to throb from an abscess, the dentist at the emergency clinic felt it wasn't salvageable but sent me to a specialist root canal guy. He felt he could save it, no problem. $1500 later it felt "okay" but always a bit tender when I bit down. It's throbbing again very painfully. I don't quite get that since I thought the nerves were dead... how can I feel so much pain when I bite down/and even when I don't? I can't help but feel root canals run a much higher risk of holding onto nasty bacteria deep inside microtubules (think that's what they're called). Frankly, I think there's no reason a root can't be sterilized thoroughly .... Surely. Too much human error in a field that can't be held accountable. At least not in my country (Canada). Ever hear of many successful malpractice suits in my country? Nope! Just rarely is allowed to happen. You can lodge a complaint with your provincial dental board but "they cannot compel a refund or any action". Just investigate and warn if one of their own is found at fault. I know with medical doctors, they pay into a fund that has billions to cover any legal costs to protect doctors. Guess who ultimately pays those fees? You got it. Tax dollars and patient fees that are charged to the government.
I'm furious at the helplessness of paying huge dental bills, even with good dental insurance. The prices are so high that even the amount a patient pays after insurance can prevent you from getting needed treatment. I'm sick of being unfortunate enough to be "treated" by, not 1 but 2 absolute quacks. 13 years ago, one persuaded me that replacing all my existing, healthy fillings with composites. Not only did he not protect me from full exposure to the mercury from the amalgams with no ventilation or even a dental dam... Causing me to get very sick for a month. He didn't make any attempt to seal the fillings correctly. Swapping out to composites are a fine idea but if done improperly.... You can end up with 13 cavities in a year, which happened to me. Lost 2 teeth and had abscesses, needed my 1st root canal and fixing others with amalgams.
Flash forward to 3 years ago, I needed a couple fillings repaired, then another, and another... Lost another tooth. I began noticing dark spots at the gumline but was dismissed as "staining from the amalgam". A few months on, small holes so I demanded x-rays. Last week he told me I would have to lose ALL my back teeth. All but the single implant I was able to save up for. That's the only tooth I will have aside from my front teeth. Wonder how long they'll last without any supporting structures behind them. The bone loss and gum recession that will happen will threaten my front teeth if pigs fly and I can afford implants for all those teeth. I had one dentist quite candidly tell me "implants are for the wealthy".
After the x-ray results were shown to me, as I began to sob behind my mask... I wasn't charged for the x-ray! Unless I get a bill in the mail that is
I'm just so tired of fighting for my dental health only to end up with such a poor outcome. Huge understatement! My only hope,if I'm somehow able to save enough to take the dental tourism route. At this point I think the risks are just about the same as seeking care in my own country , for 1/4 of the cost

@@AtoZKidsdental I'm sure you're right, if the job is done correctly yet I can't dismiss how this particular tooth had the same material used to fill the roots coming through the side of one root. It never settled down after the work was done, kept getting infection.
Also take exception to paying for work repairing filling...all while decay went in unchecked in same teeth.
It's absolutely true that my auto immune disease has damaged my teeth. Yet, I don't agree that the patient needs to come home from an appointment, use a flashlight and dental mirror to identify a problem with teeth just filling and have to ask for an x-ray to confirm what a colossal waste of time and money it was to repair these very same teeth. That's the dentist's job. Early on he said it was just staining leeching from the amalgam and wasn't until holes actually formed at the gumline that he agreed to follow up with my concerns. It's a costly mistake, both financially and for my health. No reason it couldn't have been caught earlier, potentially saving one or 2 teeth. At the very least, spare 3 of them from being repaired. It's like frosting a cake that's moldy on the bottom. It's about accountability and yes, even (god forbid) a little compassion
