Thank you so much I took my exam last week and scored 4.0 which is the 55th percentile I was originally at 3.5 I wrote 500+ characters on both essays

I took a practice writing test and got a “0” for going over 600 words in 30 mins (I did oher 1,000). I didn’t know there was a word limit, and it doesn’t tell you the word count! Others should know.

What is so important in the evaluation of the essay??
1.more number of words.
2. More complicated words used
3.A decent grammar in the essay

Hey, I had definitely written more than 500 hundred words for each of my essays and neither was the content repetitive, nor gibberish, at least that's what I feel. I still managed to get only 3/6 in AWA. There's just two more days left to my second attempt and I'm feeling very diffident about it. Could you help me out by letting me know as to where else I'd have lost marks?
As a last minute prep, I’d say just read the sample essays from the ETS official guide. They’ve given essays that get a 3, 4, 5 etc and why they get those scores. Reading all of them would give you an idea of the kind of structure and content they’re looking for, and emulating that would help you get a great score!

The 500 words that you mentioned, are supposed to use like GRE words or the regular and intermediate level English words would do the job??

Its stupid to assume that you will have those 20 words in your mind to write in a minute. It all boils down to your ability to think about the given argument or essay and come up with sentences that make sense.
