Hi Philip, I started watching your videos regularly for the past 3 months after getting a disappointing GRE score. Just retook it and got a 334 (170 quant)! Many thanks for putting together such a comprehensive study guide, couldn't have done it without you!
Incredible! Well done Drew!
Hey drew i need one suggestion
Hello ,pls help me where should I start from

What was your first score?
A GRE Monk, that’s the most accurate description I could give you! I have been tensed about taking the test and making mistakes while practicing and I can already feel it wear off halfway into the video!
I love the no BS approach to just straight up showing what needs to be done to get a high score. People really tend to overcomplicate things when its really practice - fail - reflect - repeat for as long as needed. Thank you!
Absolutely love the calmness of your voice !
Thank you Suryakant!

I genuinely have put some of your videos just to fall asleep to when I'm tired but want some input lol you're such a great tutor and I really appreciate your videos :)
Congratulations on an amazing score! I'm buckling down to study for the GRE currently and your videos have been super helpful, thank you!
Thank you so much N W, I appreciate it. If you are stuck on something, do comment about it and I will try to do a video tackling the subject.
Thanks a lot man! Much love and respect. I can't afford a tutor, so will definitely be watching more of your vids! Thanks again!
Thanks in part to your excellent videos, I scored a 330+ on my first attempt in the GRE. Thank you so much 🌈
Thanks for this strating point for how to study for the GRE! Your channel is really great. I appreciate all the help and tips!
You are most welcome Terrain
What an absolute legend. Amazing video. Thanks for everything you do!
I appreciate that!
I am just beginning to prepare for the GRE. I will be watching your videos. Thanks!!
Hi Philip,
thanks for your help! i watched your videos every day for 2 weeks, and scored 325 on my first attempt. appreciate how concisely you explain everything, especially math, which I haven't done since undergrad 14 years ago.
Nice work!
Hi Philip. Your videos have really helped me with my GRE preparation. I watched your Barron's vocabulary lists videos as well as some of your videos explaining GRE quants concepts.. Thankyou so much for the great videos and lessons! ☺️
I am here going to give my GRE in December and taking guide from you. I will come back here publishing my result. Will keep updating. Thank You. You Rock 🥰
Wow, the intensity tip is gold!
I was floundering in GRE verbal when I found your channel, and this has truly been a blessing. I connect a lot with your meticulous and structured approach to teaching strenuous and onerous topics in such a tranquil voice. I especially love how you have added numerous vocabulary videos from numerous genuine sources.
Please keep up your munificence and largess attitude for the edification of autodidacts like us.
Thank you for your erudite compliments Ashish!
Thank you so much for the tips! I want to do really well on my GRE when the time comes :)!!! God Bless you for sharing your wisdom for free
You are so welcome Bella!
Hi Philip ! For the first time ever I will let a comment on YT. Your videos helped me so much to reach my objectives.
Thank you so much for the amazing quality of your content and for your generosity.
Thank you so much for all your videos ! Its so so helpful.
Thank you for making these videos. Agree with most everyone else. Your calmness and demeanor is very appealing and much appreciated. Not to mention the valuable tips 😉
Wow, thank you
Thanks for sharing. Wonderful tips
For some reason , the part you talk about the ' the door and a 100 little taps' was very motivational to me ; Intensity .Got me through months of painfully slow progress without giving up . I'm watching this one last time hoping for that final nudge

I've got about 1.5 months to my GRE exam. I'm glad to have found this channel :)
Thanks sahil. If you get stuck on anything let me know.
What was your score
I love the humour along with your honest tips 🤩
Oh thank you Krishika!
Very motivating attitude, in all honesty. Thanks a lot
So nice of you Edward
Thank you for this video. And congratulations on your high score. It is a fact that standardized tests like the SAT and GRE correlate with tests designed to measure IQ. So then you have excellent cognitive abilities. I'm sure your preparation made a difference, but it's not likely your prep changed your test score substantially. I found the GRE to be absolutely grueling when I took some 30+ years ago. My primary concern was how insomnia and anxiety might affect my score. I do not remember my score, but it was enough to meet my entrance requirements for graduate school.
Thank you. For these advice.
it was simply ingenious. I mean the explanation: why we experience fluctuation in some of our efforts, and overemphasis on practice and life-style. Thanks a lot.
You are awesome! Thank you for doing this! I’ll have my GRE in 15 days for pursuing my PhD, your suggestions are really help! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Bel!
Hi! How did it go?
Sir, thank you for making such insightful videos on GRE. I have watched almost all of your videos and found most beneficial compared to any others. Would like to have a full video on practice tests; which are the best ones and how to analyze the practice test results for better score.
Thanks zafar and great suggestion!
thanks for the relevant information. I like your videos
Great Advice. Loved your video.
A hunger to not make the same mistake twice...excellent advice. Thank you!
:)
Thanks a lot for your advice. I got 324 in the test I took a few days ago and I’m very satisfied with that. Your advice for reading is extremely useful and not just for gre test. Thanks!
Well done Oli!
To be honest The best thing about your video was the patience with which u were surmounted. U didn't hype at all about your 340 Keep it up sir.
I am a Chinese college student preparing for the GRE, your video is really helpful ! Practice makes perfect!
You can do it Victor!!
You should make a video sampling a few questions and walking us through how to answer and analyze them
Got a video coming in about an hour doing just that! It takes longer to edit, but hope it helps!
You are an inspiration ! I wish I could connect with you @The Tested Tutor
Thank you very much I'll be watching the rest of the series too...teach us well sensei
Thank you Bellesme! I will try.

Thanks simran! :)
omg when you said “for a price of 990 dollars” I almost fucking cried. i’ve been practicing for a while but i’m still not ready im gonna keep practicing. thank you. 😚
Keep at it Sana, you will get there.
Astute observations.
My final tip: some of you are night owl academics like me and the exam in your country may happen at 9 AM when you would be normally be asleep. If this is true then this is suicidal for your grades. Do the practice of 10 mock tests mentioned here exactly when the test in region might be happening in the day if possible. If you have jobs, at the very least make sure you are fully natural for months to be awake and active at that time of day. Good luck.
I have a month and a week for my GRE tests. I will put on practice your tips
Good luck Denisse!
Really got some interesting advice from your video!
I would like to know if you have any tips for Reading when not able to entirely understand the article ?
I often get slowed down when the topic is unfamiliar to me(which is most of them) and unfortunately spending a lot of time still picking the wrong answer...It would be wonderful if you could share any ways to improve!
If none of the techniques enable you to understand the text, then it I about guessing well. Avoid answers that are out of scope or too absolute, such as always, only, all, never etc.
I have my exam on 19th November...Starting to study today. This channel is gem.
Thanks so much TWJ
Hi, great video! Can you please do a video on the most efficient way to learn vocab/ which vocab words are the best to learn?
Thank you for the comment! I will definitely do a video on that shortly, thanks for the great suggestion.
Thank you so much!
Hey..u r doing a great job...hats off to your efforts in GRE..u r very hardworking to grow your channel..all the best for your CZcams journey!! I will be giving GRE in few months! Thank u!
My aim is 4-5 videos a week but we will see. It takes a LOT of work to film and edit everything.
I'm ready. I have classes, certifications, and standardized tests to conquer
Your voice is so calm, almost feels like AI.....wow!
Thank you :) I will be taking the exam in 3 months!
How did it go Izabella?
Absolutely Fantastic Video
Thank you very much Arunangshu!
That's helpful! Can you guide how to tackle the questions for the passage? That's the most difficult part I guess in verbal section
Yes, have you seen all my reading comprehension videos yet?
Practise, practise, practise, I couldn't agree more! All the tips and strategies that I learnt in my first attempt were useless (sometimes even detrimental, instead of using a strategy, I thought of that strategy during the test, which wasted time 😤). On the second attempt, where I finally got a 330+, it all boiled down to an efficient and well conducted practise.
Exactly! Great to hear it Jib, it really does work.
Heyhey! Thanks a lot for the useful tips. Same q as Seikh below - any recommendation for quant prep ? (Like Barrons, Princeton, Manhattan and Nova) if you have any other suggestions would be great to know! BTW I liked your video so need to borrow your luck for OCT (will pay back with interest)
Thanks Nanuka! Manhattan 5lb book is hard but very good. If you can do all the ones in there you are set!
Hey Phillip, enjoyed the video and learned a lot! Btw, how long does it take on average to prepare for the test?
As I’m planning to book my test soon will appreciate a good time period.
Also how long would IELTS/TOEFL take to prepare for?
Hey, first of all Thank you so much for helping all of us with regard to the GRE. Usually a question pops up about the number of words one should practice and from where. Any suggestions?
Thank you kindly Saksham. I cover this in two of my other videos - do check them out! Comment there if they don't fully answer your questions...
Nice tips! Can you do video on how to analyze/learn from your GRE mistakes?
Hey Tom, thank you. I will make that my next video!
@@TheTestedTutor did u make the video ?
Hello Sir, your video was very motivating and helpful. I have started my GRE prep and gave my first mock by Magoosh and scored a 311. I am working on my practice but I find it difficult to recognize the areas where I am weak. Do you have any tips on as to how to self analyze effectively, in both, the mocks and the practice, that would help me tremendously! Thank you :)
Thank you Philip ..
No probs stephen
You are amazing
Hey! Thanks so much for your videos..they're amazing. Dyu think it's necessary for me to purchase the additional powerprep plus practice tests?? I'm aiming for a 330+
Yes it does help, the more practice tests the better and those are the official ones. Good luck Onyi!
Thank you for sharing all of this information! Do you know where I can find practice GRE exams?
V invaluable advice
Is magoosh Flashcards is enough for gre verbal?
Nope, need much more, lots of advice in my verbal playlist
I've 6 months to get ready for this test!
I'll get it!
Good luck! Watch every video!
Thank you so much, sir. I don't have the finances needed to join GRE/GMAT prep classes as of now but would love to contribute via YT. 'Join' button or something similar might be of help 🙈
Hi, very helpful video. Thanks!
Is there any practice question materials that you can recommend ?
Have you tried Magoosh flashcards and the Manhattan 5lb book?
Thank a lot mate! So I gave my GRE yesterday and got 326 with barely 15 days of preparation, while working in the government sector in India during this pandemic phase. Though I was a bit disappointed, because I should have scored more in Quant (considering my decent enough quant legacy) but it's okay. And yeah, I followed you and Greg Mat. Thanks once again.
How many hours did you study per day?
How many hours?
its a lie.
@@salsabilahmedshrestho960 lol. That was so direct..
Can you post a video on how to revise GRE syllabus? How should I plan out my revision strategy including QR, VR and vocabulary just few days before the real test.
I covered that mostly in my other videos. But if you can fit in 5-10 practice tests + documenting all mistakes before real test that will help a lot. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you so much
After seeing ur comment on every comment section and I came to ur channel !! And I felt u can really help GRE takers !!
Can u please make how to stay stable for 4.5 hours with focus during test time ?
Yes Kabita, how did the new test go?
Hi Philip, what do you consider the best resources for practice questions? I’ve been using OG guide and Manhattan 5LB. Would you recommend any other sources of practice problems?
Magoosh also has great resources, and ScholarDen!
This is the best video 😍

Hi! I've watched many of your videos randomly, loved them so much that i have now ended up here to go through each one from the beginning. I am planning to give my GRE in two months. Could you help me with a plan as to how many questions a day or how to go about it basically. Thanks!

He is!
Hi there! I have my GRE coming up this Friday and... unfortunately the past 4-5 months my studying has been inconsistent and I haven't retained a lot due to a full time job so I've pushed the date back once already yet here I am again feeling unprepared:(
Just hearing you say how it's really good to take many practice questions and tests I barely even grazed them due to being so worried about how to even solve or remember certain types of questions.
With everything you've said, I feel like I need to postpone my scheduled date
I'm so conflicted since I've already changed the date once. Would love to hear your insight on pushing back test dates. Whether I need to just suck it up and take it or be willing to suck up more money if I dont do as well as I need to. I know it's a pretty subjective situation and maybe theres nothing you can say.
I would probably delay if you can do so cheaply. Then hammer the 10 practice tests, watch every video, finish both the Manhattan and Offical Guides and Magoosh resources. It is achievable in a month or two!
@@TheTestedTutor thanks for the insight and help! I really like your videos this far and only just found them! I think I may delay considering all the content I still have to cover for sure. Thanks again!
Wow ........superb tips
Thanks a lot
Good job!
Thanks!
Hi so i have recently come across your channel. Would you only recommend ETS material for verbal or Manhattan,Magoosh are also acceptable?
All of the above are great. You named the best 3 providers, in my opinion.
I am glad that I found your channel. I have a question. How can I improve my reading skills? The problem with me is, I tend to loose the information of the previous line when I am reading the current line. So I require to read the same line twice or thrice. How to overcome this short time memory loss type of problem? Thank you. Waiting for you reply.
I did a video directly on this, called what I read...
@@TheTestedTutor Thank you.
so helpful, thanks from IRAN
You are welcome, from London
Hi, I have problem with expanding my vocabulary. Can u suggest which words list should I use to study?
EDIT: Currently I am referring to Barron's Verbal Workbook for Vocabulary. It has around 3000 words. Is it sufficient enough?
That is a good start. Then do Magoosh flashcard app and the 1853 most advanced Scribd list.
Do you believe ManhattanPrep's material is good for verbal section practice? I'm asking since I don't want to run out of practice material, and I'm grinding thru the 5 lbs book for quant practice right now, but I've heard conflicting advice about their verbal stuff.
It is definitely a good start. Depending on budget there is so much else to do after as well
I will subscribe like and share
Thankyou so much
What type of vocabulary flash cards (if any) would you recommend, for the GRE. ?
Have you done the Magoosh one? They are a good phone app.
Having probably a month in hand for GRE, and not being an engineer and not good with maths, do you recommend picking the Manhattan 5LB for Quants ; as I feel it’s quiet intimidating and I don’t want to overload or overwhelm myself with information and get confused.
Your opinion would be really helpful.
