- So, I took my GRE this December 2020, and thought of sharing my experience with the whole GRE at home situation due to Covid-19. I hope it helps those who are about to take the test online.

@@vaishology922 How are you able to write with this dumb marker on white board its writing so bold can't even figure what I wrote, can you help me on this what to do? And for this I researched and got some thin markers but no use writes same bolder

@@rajaranjith5151 try the camlin marker its tip is thinner but it is difficult to hold but I guess it's ok. You don't have to solve that much in quant section. Even I got the thin markers but they were much bolder😑 so I opted for the camlin marker
Hi, is 12 minutes the threshold for starting the session on the proctor u page after the timer goes off, or for completing the ID process with the live proctor and launching the test, from the time the timer goes off?
Should we select University to apply as soon as the test ends or can we apply after getting final score. ie after some days..?
Do we need to create ProctorU account sufficiently Or the link sent to us in the email will redirect us to the page automatically?
Do you suggest writing at home or at the center, which is the better option to choose?

So I had a question. Once the timer is over , you said something about check in, there will be a button for checking in provided by the ETS via Mail?
You'll have it right there, where the timer goes off
If they take control of the mouse, are we still able to use it to go back and forth the questions in the section, open the calculator, click next etc. Kindly let me know.

Thank you for the informative video! Did you use the whiteboard normally like you would use a notebook (kept on the table), or did you have to keep it vertically or something to ensure that the proctor could see it at all times?

I have my name on the gre score card with my first and last names interchanged( ie the way it is given in all my certificates and Aadhar ) . Do I have to change it to my passport format ( ie first name - last name )

Hi vaishnavi I am not able to login to my Proctor U account. It is asking for enrollments and I have none specified within the dropdown menu. I am not able to get the issue resolved as I am not able to chat with the representative. Please suggest
If we receive a pop up message from the proctor as you mentioned w.r.t the camera visibility, the time used to change the settings etc. Will it reduce my actual test time or it will be paused until the error is fixed ?
No pausing, the time keeps going. You just hope for the best

No, how can it be visible to him. keep your face, chin to head in their visible space. You can look down and write on the board.
Hey vaishnavi, thanks for the video. So i am not able to install the ets browser, it shows try again later. I tried all the troubleshooting stuff which was mentioned on the pdf on the ets website, but still can't install the browser. What do you think must be the issue?
You can ask logmeinrescue , it's not even a heavy file. You should be able to.
Do you have to memorize the 4 university names? or there is a list of options from which the 4 universities can be chosen?

Thanks for your clip, I did the test at home, they cancelled my score after 5 months, they send me an email to inform me that I used recording software or device, but I did do wrong thing, if I used unauthorised software, the proctor would find out, how do you think?

You can have a transparent sheet/file and use that. You can't write on paper.

Just your face. You just have to show the board once and then keep working with it even if it's not visible to the screen.

Can we use that?

Local store. Amazon ones that I have seen are bulky. Get a lightweight simple inexpensive one nearby.
Hi. Thank you for the informative video. Just a simple query. I read somewhere that the whiteboard must be visible to the proctor while writing. Is this true? Asking because I prefer keeping it on the table on the side and working on it (however it is not visible in that scenario)

Yes it is. Notebook can have anything in it. read the ets exam requirements

I bought it from a stationery shop, this is an online exam. You'll have to arrange everything. They (ETS) will give you the test and a virtual calculator.

What time are we supposed to download the ETS Online Test browser? Is it on the test day after the scheduled time starts or can we download it well ahead of time?
Anytime, just keep it ready before the exam.

I've haven't applied for any uni... just for safe hand i thought ill give gre test so it'll be useful after few months... my doubt is when they ask for reporting scores for any 4 uni that time can I leave it blank since I've not applied to any uni and I'm taking tets for future use.. can i do so? what if i do and don't do?

Yes you can. Don't worry about such details. They just want authenticity. If you aren't trying to cheat, you are in no trouble.

That should not be a problem. Just let the proctor know of this. But i would still reccomend to use a laptop since you will have to show the entire room as I showed in the video , how will you do that with the monitor.
So If I choose my slot to be 10:30 then by that time the proctoru timer would tick of then all the procedures would start right?

Maximum 15days. You should have it in a week's time.
