I have never had a professional lesson & am just your every day chap attempting recipes to inspire you guys to try too. I upload 2 recipe videos per week, but some fun is had too on Sunday when it is Funday where anything goes....including giant foods, mini foods, taste testing foods sent from around the World, kitchen gadget testing and many more. Any requests for recipes / cool stuff you've seen let me know! I try my best to reply to as many comments as possible, but it is hard to as I am busy working on the next video, but please interact with eachother and be respectful :-) #barrylewis #kitchengadget #gadgets

    I think what they did with the ketchup trick is they used a SUPER hot pan and specifically ketchup because of it's high water content (93-95%) and took advantage of the leidenfrost effect. It has nothing to do with non stick, it's just a convincing trick. I'll bet that they didn't have the ketchup in the pan for long.

    I know this is super late, but the pan (although, not sure what brand yours is, most 'as seen on TV' nonstick pans) is/are supposed to be seasoned like a cast iron skillet. You wash it, dry it, lightly rub enough vegetable or canola oil to just cover the nonstick surface, then either place on a burner for a couple minutes. Let it cool, then wipe out any excess oil with a paper towel. They don't often advertise it, but usually, it recommends it on the packaging.

      Maybe not with that particular model (I forgot about the plastic handle), but you can do the same thing on the stove top. (Is the one with the plastic handle a knock-off brand?) I remember when I was younger my nan would make me use that slicer for beans on a Sunday roast and thinking of it now it was probably rather dangerous 😂

    That juicer/funnel thing would be great for adding lime to a bottle of beer like Corona or lemon to a bottle of sparkling water like Perrier

    I actually have a similar pan, and the trick to making it work is to unstick it while it's cooking. AKA, don't wait until it's done to slide it around. I have actually done that egg trick, though it has gotten some scratches... over time, that is.

  • @loveyourselfplease6842

    What those nonstick pan commercials fail to mention is that you have to get the pan so hot that droplets of water will ball & dance across the surface if you're cooking anything that doesn't have oils that will coat the pan. I've never had one that sugary sauces won't stick to.

    You know what would be interesting, if you picked a random selection of gadgets and used them for whatever they are used for and then make a meal out of the things you made. So it's like you have to make a mystery recipe

    Maybe with the egg your heat was too high, when you're using this pan you should cook on low heat. Love this show ❤

    I love your gadget videos. I wanted to thank you for.the one the showed the one touch battery operated can opener. Struggle with opening with turning the handle of a opener because of arthritis. And dont like the electric ones because of the sharp lid. I don't know if I got the same one since I am in the U.S. but i love it thanks

    That copper pan might be quite useful if you have pet birds as most non-stick pans are made of teflon which can harm a bird's delicate respiratory system when used.

  • @jemagu6
    @jemagu6 Před 7 lety

    All pans, even non-stick pans, need to be seasoned when they are new. All it takes is a wipe of oil with a paper towel, then you put it in a low heat oven for a few minutes.

    The pan looks ok, but any non stick pan will behave like this at first. The question is, if it will be still be non stick after a few weeks.
