A great all-rounder that's good to drive, and neatly styled. With a sporty handling and comfortable seats it manages to serve up a good blend of performance and practicality, though three door versions - which feel cramped in the back - lack the family appeal of five door models. The supple ride is a real highlight, and ensures that the Peugeot remains composed and stable on all but the very roughest roads. It's quiet on the motorway too, which makes it a decent cruiser. Diesel versions offer good economy, but unless you plan to do big miles in the car, we would recommend sticking to the 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol editions.

I have a 1.6i 16v 110bhp 3 door version of this car, absolutely love it. Rear seat space is not a problem as I can't remember the last time someone sat there and apart from problems associated with the high mileage (110k+, gearbox clutch and cambelt have all been replaced recently costing me lots) there have been no issues at all. Cost me £2500 4 years ago and still love it!
DJ Monsta got the same car as my first car when I left for university... been enjoying it since :)
I bought a 1.4 2007 model and quickly learnt to look more into the mechanical side of things haha but the time I had with it was very pleasant. It was such a comfortable and fun driving experience compared to the small powerless vehicles I'm used to. Miss it apart from the cloud of burning engine oil that followed me everywhere...

This car is amazing. I bought it about a month ago and I love it. It's easy to drive and it feels a little sporty as well. I have the 1,6 110 BHP model with 3 doors and a glas roof... BTW my glovebox is much bigger than that one...
A story 3 daughters 3 cars ford fiesta, toyota yaris, peugeot 206. When i bought them thought peugeot would not last the course. Fiesta sold after a year - crap rusty and damp unreliable 40k miles. Yaris and Peugeot still going strong after 6 years. Toyota only servicing, peugeot, servicing, pulley tensioner and coil pack. Both done 65k miles. Both feel very good, bodywork fantastic. Which do i like driving the best - the pug. Its true its got soul and is smooth, handles fine and supple. 1.1 engine. French cars are good Imo.

a younger, less fat and less arrogant clarkson. not bad at all.
It seems virtually impossible, but I'd love to see Peugeots sold in the US. Both the 207 and 307 are the only cars that could pry me away from my Golf. I was in Amsterdam and Munich a couple of weeks ago. An unscientific eyeballing of traffic says Peugeot has to be 1st or 2nd in the Dam. In Munich, it seemed like the most popular non-German make.

@@MrTaoufikK I bought one 2 days ago. 95CV 1.4 2011 with 60k KM for €3400. Feels very good, easy to drive and everything is fine for now

And I suppose you can tell me a make/model where every single unit off the production line is 100% perfect? I could equally point out that the famous Volkswagen reliability let my father down when he bought a brand new Passat and had a never ending list of things go wrong with it. Of course that wasn't a reflection on the brand or model, just luck. An independent analyst in 2010, researching several insurance companies found the Peugeot 207 to be THE most reliable car over the first 5 years!

the engine is so powerful it goes and goes and goes
Its the first car ive ever owned thats got less than 30,000 miles on it hehe. Its blue! I love blue. Can wave goodbye to my poor little worn out 97 clio bless it =). It served me well but is costing more to keep on the road than its really worth.
I’ve had 2 GTi models found the steering to be far too light for a sporty car, however very easy around town. The suspension was also stiff and not the best damped.

Was thinking about the 'Just add fuel' deal with one of these. 3 years insurance, routine servicing, road tax, breakdown cover and warranty for £169 a month.
I disagree on your opinion about wobbly gear boxes, there far better than stiff ones. If your on the moterway and driving with a wobbly gear box atleast when your foot is on the clutch it'll slide into gear effortlessly

It certainly looks quite nice. I actually prefer it's external styling to it's successor; the 208. I'm sure the 208 has better equipment though but I just like the general look of this.
Agreed, the 207 facelift looks better than its immediate successor.
Now, the all new 208 is another story...

Im the type of person who doesn't judge until ive drove something but honestly a LOT of people dont seem to like it 😂 plus a friend of mine had one and news flash broke down even after it got a new clutch in the previous day which is hilarious
I learned to drive in a 1.4 207 diesel, and I agree the gearbox is rubbery too, the engine is loud at anything over 60, it needed an extra gear. Also I disagree with the handing, it was fine at around a city, but at higher speeds it felt like the steering was connected with wallpaper paste, and the brakes are excessively sharp :(

Peugeot must have been cutting corners with the glove box for right hand drive version. Yet other manufacturers give you a big glove box.

Trafalgar Law I’ve had both and 207 every time. Corsas are heavy on fuel and awful to drive.

I have a Peugeot 207 2012 model. When I turn on the aircon my car goes into limp mode. Can anyone say what could be wrong

Had a 1.4 16 valve 90bhp Sport one of these. Decent enough car but slow as hell mind and no feel for the handling and quite thirsty really =/ De pollution fault comes and goes but its a very 'does what it says on the tin' car and they do look nice

@T17TRC i have that car n i love it... but i have the 1,4... with the sensodrive gear.... sometimes i do wish i got the 1.6 after i get my butt whipped but a 1.5 KIA Picanto :( but other than. its perfect... the speakers are good.. n comes with a standard ipod port :D

I like Clarkson but he is definetly not a good reviewer. This guy is a pro, he has very consistent reviews. Clarkson's reviews are fun, Mat's reviews are useful.

Yeah, the gearbox is rather lame, to long travel for my taste. I was curious if it is a problem of my car but it looks like it was like that even when new.

Correct it’s only smaller because of the fact it’s 3 door like you said Because he said it’s pretty much the same in the 5 door but he’s totally wrong it’s not actually the same in the 5 door at all as I own the 5 door and it’s very comfortable and roomy in the back actually even with taller passengers who have long legs

CLARKSON is the result of bbc attempt to make car shows more "entertaining" by doing stupid and somtimes unessary actions, and this results in his reviews being tainted by everything exept the "car review...........simply said he is a good entertainer not a good car reviewer. if you think other wise be my guest

The Prince engine is not reliable
Hateful little S&^%box. Got one as a “courtesy” car whilst my Alfa is getting biennial registration. Sluggish, cramped, tatty, noisy - in the wrong way, and generally horrid. Ugh.

Had this car for about half year. Wasn't much pleased with it.
Petrol engine 1.6, with 109hp, wasn't much economic. Would never buy any french car again.
Peugeot 207 Phase 2 is ugly. That backlamps dont fix there. The Peugeot 207 Phase 1 is beautiful and the design is more elegant. The new Peugeot cars have a design more weird and in past people liked peugeot cars because they were simple and have a beautiful design. Now are weird and looks like a cheap Chinese shXt.
terrible car i own one they got terrible electrics i've had 3 new fuse boxes in the past 3 years.
And when i broke down i was going at 70mph and car just cut out never buy a peugeot .
