I bought my Peugeot 207 and I had low hopes and opinions, but it's turned out to be surprising alright for a first car. Sure, they're cheap, the engine is weak, but it can take a beating. I've put it through a lot in the last 6 months, and considering it's a 15 year old car, it's still running. It's also really easy to repair, very repair-friendly design, and the parts are very cheap. It's an alright little car for getting about, nothing special, but I guess it gets you from point A to point B, and that's all you need from a car really.

Really great video mate - these are very helpful - cheers!
Just test drove a 207 2009 1.4vti today - your video was my guide! One issue was the engine light and anti-pollution warning light were on. Owner said the last two inspections the OBD sensor was changed (twice) and could be electronic. So the only issue here worries me, but the deal is pretty good for low mileage. Researching now what the worst case could be revealed by this OBD engine warning light (head gasket?)

That is the different. French Cars might be less reliable compare to the Japanese cars - but they are more reliable than Opel, BMW, The new Golf, and Audi with falling roofs. and they barely decay. I have had Mazda and it started to rust from the side and my Bro Honda was the same. But i see a lot of French Cars of over 20 yrs old, no sign of rust at all

I had a similar problem until recently on my 207, i believe it turned out to be the oil pan on my car. It had been leaking for quite some time, but initially we could not see where it was stemming from. Your best bet is to ramp it up and have a look if it coming from the same area, if not, then have a look a the forums or a decent mechanic.

Rubbish cars don't buy one. we had a (2011) 207 1.4 diesel, manual, basic model . Electric steering rack failures we had 2 replaced in 3 years at £900 a time. Dash clocks drop out and repower while driving. ABS failures due to corroded cables. Temp reads high when cars stops momentarily then goes into limp mode then clears as you drive for 100 yards. Exhaust bracket fails (common problem).
