@@QueenShireen definitely a good reaction. sad reality though in many parts of the usa, some crazy karen would be screaming and yelling to get the kid off of their property instead of being sympathetic and understanding.

It’s so sad that Lizzie couldn’t just accept that her mother didn’t want to raise her. I know how that feeling when your mother, you’re own parent, the one person who you’re supposed to look up to and idolize, walks out on you and doesn’t look back.
Some women aren't meant to be moms.
life is full of obstacles to overcome, that is just one tiny, one.
It reminds me of Angels in the outfield when the lead's dad signed papers to let his kid be a ward of the state. In short: he is in the foster system.
It's like finding out God isn't real.
It’s not that the mom didn’t want to raise her it’s more of the fact that she couldn’t and she knew that too
If only Lizzie knew they chose her first, they didn’t know about Her siblings

"And we can figure something out. And she can take me home." 😭 😭
Truly how saddening that statement is , she's broken in between two places . She knows this family is looking out for her best interests , but she held out hope for her birth mother even though she betrayed her multiple times.
That mix of pain , separation , resentment, anger and loss will break anyone.

Wonder what it took for Isabella Moner to conjure her emotions for this scene?
1 thousand liker!
1:03 “and she can take me home”. That actress deserves some sort of recognition for her performance. I’m about the same age that Lizzie is but I haven’t had any of the same experiences, being moved, losing a parent, etc. but when the actress said that line it struck very deep. I don’t know her name but that girl is very talented.

Even is she did take her, would you call a single room apartment a home for a family for 4.
The girl doesn't want to be a child anymore
But she acts like a mum, not a sister. She used her mum to get out of the system and just act like the first time she came in

@@andreeric175 the girl doesn't want her brother and sister to live with strangers!!!!! She wants them to live in a home!
And I don't mean her mum
Siobhan Conneely yeah but her mom doesn’t want them what did you not get from this clip
Siobhan Conneely u made it seem depressed
Siobhan Conneely You need to understand that even if they went back with their mom, it wouldn’t be a home because she wouldn’t love them. People take all foster homes as a bad thing but there’s times where it’s the best thing because there are many foster parents who actually love the children they take in when the biological parents don’t want them. You can see that a lot of foster parents love the children but because of the word “foster”, everyone thinks there’s no way it can be a home.
The entire time , it was the girl who wanted her mom to take them back . It was the girl who was convincing her mother to take them back when in reality she didnt actually want to raise them .😭
Well can you blame her? At the beginning of the movie, they said the mom made promises that she couldn’t keep. No matter how bad a mom is, a child is always going to want her mom. Lizzie has been wanting a mom to depend on for so long and the scene shows how desperate she wanted this to work out and she didn’t want to believe it’s the same scenario all over again where her mom promised to take her home and once again she choose drugs over her child.
You didnt know that it was the oldest daughter/Lizzie that wanted to live with her real mother you really didnt know that i mean whatever
@@emilyencarnacion5020 thats messed up in my opinion
2:06 She saw her then she was like 👌
She probably had a bad time through foster care who previous foster parents who probably neglected her. So that's why she felt uncomfortable being in foster care.
If you have actually done foster care you'll know this movie is very realistic. Its hilarious but sad at the same time.
I was in foster care and I acted like the 15 yr old girl in the movie..
Reminds me of me and my 2 sisters when I was at foster home
I actually had 2 foster sisters and I remember their parents start using again after they had gone home.
@11 11 proof?
NinjaCat so you were as annoying as her
Honestly wish foster parents could handle a situation like this and still care for the child, most parents do this for the money.
YummyNutty what about checks done my the fostering agency? Also it doesn’t seem like you would make much in comparison to the amount you would spend and the effort. Seems like it would be easier to get a job
Aishah Siddeeqa Not if you’re neglecting the kids and using the money for yourself . Which a lot of foster parents have done. Plus the more kids you take in, the more money they give you
Actually not "most" but some cruel ones
Man wtf is that dp😂
Lol I wouldn't take anything you say serious with a profile pic like that haha, hilarious though
Lizzie saying “And she can take me home” Really reveals a lot about her, for the whole movie she was acting like she was the emotionally stable one who was looking after her siblings and that Juan and Lita were the ones who were emotionally broken, when in reality it was her who was the most broken
I mean yeah duh. She was a child herself, looking after her siblings because she was in the foster system. That breaks you.
She has the maturity and knowledge to understand her own situation better. She's the oldest and had to act as an authority and support figure to the youngest.
They on the other hand has Lizzie as this support. And the youngest does not have enough knowledge of the extent of the situation. Awareness.
Liz the older sibling had to stay strong in their face, in order to act as a support system.
She's also the one that kept more hope and kept trying to fix the situation as the older sibling. The disappointment and hurt is even stronger for her then.
It's pretty much simple.

No kid should ever go through that 😞
True. But she shouldn't think that. The mother probably does want her kids, she just knows she's not able to take care of them. That's the best thing for the children. A safe stable home life. Some parents are too selfish to realize that.
@@trawlins396 you’re right! I agree with you
@@trawlins396"She shouldn't think that"

With all due respect, its asinine to expect a mere child to understand how things work at that early stage of their life.

It's wasn't that Lizzy's mom was unsupportive. Sometimes, biological parents knows that they don't have what it takes to take care of their children and so the best thing to do is to give their children to someone else. In this scene, Lizzy's mom knows that she can't take care of her children and that's why she didn't show up to pick them up

Jesus, this takes me back to when I worked in a non profit in the mid 90s. Heart breaking scenes at times. This does take me back. Great movie.
I get it that Lizzy wanted to be out of the system and wanted things to be normal again with her mom, but I felt that Lizzy was carrying more for herself than for Lina and Juan. That was not fair to force something that was not ready nor ideal. That her mom was not in the condition to be not to be a mom. Lizzy's mother will always be her mother, but never her mom because her mother did not have the capability to be responsible, care, nor love her own children as a real mom would. I know exactly what Lizzy is feeling her. My Dad really didn’t want me or my sister. He never properly openly said it but everything he did to me when I was younger made it obvious. He wouldn’t show up to places to pick me up, couldn’t stand being with me for more than a few hours and told me I could never live with him because it would take away his freedom. He knew my mother was struggling financially to take care of me and my sister, and despite being rich himself he never bothered to help once and would ignore my mother (and me and my sister) for weeks if my mother asked him for any form of help. It’s a shame because like Lizzy, I idolised a parent that didn’t want me for so long too.

All she wants is her Mom. She wants the woman who birthed her, because that is a bond that cannot be broken, no matter how many times life gets in your way. But sometimes... You can't have that. Sometimes you can't have your Mom, because it would hurt you more than anything else. It's not her fault her Mama is not ready, but you can't rush the healing process. Sometimes it takes longer for some than others.
This scene was so emotional inside I was crying but not in the outside I was trying to not cry and in the end made me happy 😆
As a former foster child with an addict for a mother I know the feeling......it is heartbreaking how well she played thst part.
This girl is a good actor.
"And then she can take me home" 😭💔💔
To me, what felt the saddest is how the ladies’ words seemed to imply that the mother had basically put all the blame on her daughter : saying she was the one who had filled the forms, that she *pushed* into something she wasn’t ready for… she was basically implying that it was her daughter who had been pushing and forcing her, who had decided everything without asking her opinion. As a grown up, she’s totally able to say « yes » or « no, I can't » but rather than refusing from the beginning or admitting that she simply never had the guts to speak honestly to her daughter, like a real adult, she kinda pushed all of the blame on her teenage daughter, as if she wasn’t the adult who should have been able to refuse it from the beginning and not give fake hopes to her daughter.
And another bad part ? I think she did say the truth when implying that her daughter had decided of all of this on her own. It’s still her fault as she’s the adult who should have taken her decision from the beginning and not let a kid make fake hopes.
But this made me think about something. Why had Lizzie filled these forms ? Why was she so determined to go back to her mom who didn't really want her from the beginning and even rejected her foster parents who liked her so much ? I suddenly wondered : the fact that she rejected so much her foster parents, was so determined to go back to her mom, going as far as to make the whole procedure herself… was it really because she wanted to be with her mom ? Or was it because she actually somehow felt that her mom was actually the only one in this world who would be able, would agree to love her and stay with her ?
But in just a minute, this hope was shattered. Let’s remember that after crying in the backyard, she offered her foster parents to keep her younger siblings while she would go elsewhere. Because she actually though no one could love her, not even them. Since ever her mom didn’t want her, she probably thought she was unlovable at this point 😢
Thank God, her foster parents proved her wrong
Seriously and I will always believe it, I will always miss her because in addition to having an impressive talent for dramatic acting, Isabela Moner in real life was a girl, a teen, a very respectful and exemplary woman, a great inspiration for young people due to her intelligence and maturity. I miss that unique and authentic Isabela very much, very valuable to me 😟😞♥️👉👈
In the movies, that month of December 4 years ago I secretly cried in that scene, I felt that moved me, it touched my heart to see her cry and suffer that duel that mom doesn't love you, she won't come back for you never, You know, drugs are the bane of all aspects of life.
Lizzie was one of the best characters played by Isabella exploring new facets of her career in Hollywood.
"What the hell is going on?"
'Yea just give us a minute'
*understandable have a great day*
Lizzy: How come she don't want me, man?
Can we just appreciate that woman at the end for understanding and leaving them be?
???? What's to understand??? Someone asked for privacy and she said "ok". That's how 9 out of 10 adults will respond.
Why does BASIC kindness impress ppl now???

Her acting in that scene was no less than amazing
this scene always gives me chills
I remember when this happened to me when my birthparents told my mom and dad that they were gonna pick me up. I’m actually glad they didn’t because I love my family.
Shelia def saw that moment and she thought "Oh no, another gallagher family."
underrated comment
isabela is one of the most underrated, talented actresses ever
Lizzie : You’re not my parents
Pete : No we’re not but you know who we are ? We’re here
This was suppose to be a sad scene 😂
I'd always love Mark Wahlberg's delivery lines in these kind of movies.
What was so funny about it
dam she fast, she can run track with that
