It’s like you want each component to hit max velocity at the same time. Elasticity adds delay. So one way syncing can be accomplished by matching elasticity.
This is always how I’ve thought about projectile biomechanics. For any swing or throw, you want your shoulders, upper arms, forearms, and wrists to all hit max velocity right at the point of contact (assuming adequate control). It’s like a whip. This is also ideally at the point of full extension, which is why a clean follow-through is important.

You can probably design special porting to slow the extension of the piston rods by shifting any residual propellant charge from behind the piston to the front of the piston. You would need to have a piston coupled to the rods that is of a greater diameter than the rods. I understand that some aircraft flight controls have hydraulic dampeners which use tapered components within the control cylinders which effectively slow the flow of oil by acting as a metering valves which come into play as the cylinders near the end of their stroke. It seems that this could be of help in controlling the deceleration of this device.

So glad you did a collab with Shane, he does some really cool stuff. Your boisterous personality and his dry wit are a great combo.
I see three hurdles you need to overcome.
    1) consistent contact
    2) consistent launch angle
    3) backspin
For consistent contact, you need to make the plate flat, not curved, and you need it at least 30% higher than the ball diameter
For consistent loft, you need to habe that plate at an angle so you only need to make a level swing
For back spin you need to have some sort of groove with edges at an angle to bite on to the ball.
I am far from an engineer and being dyslexic, I don't do well with large formulas so the launch angle and spin are things that you would have to test out and those would be dictated by speed. With a golf driver, a ball speed of 200 mph a good launch angle and spin combo is about 10 deg and 2000 rpm for the best distance. This will be different for a baseball based on seams verses threads, but probably in the ballpark (intended😉)
I would guess that you could easily hit over 800' by improving launch and spin conditions.
Also, paint your ball so it is easier to find.

This is so wholesome tho. some other people would be salty he's trying to break the record or some would actively make it harder by keeping the secrets to themselves but no. Destin lets another dude have a shot and actively helps him reach that, and that's just a great mentality I feel like we need more of in the world. ^^

Yeah the world would be a better place if we were happy in others success and thought of them as progress for the entire human race and not just one person or any other exclusionary classification. Science is about shared knowledge and pushing the boundaries of understanding. Collective cooperation is what brought us from caves dwelling apes to the species to traverse the edges of the solar system and beyond.

Also... noticed that initially... the bat basically completely stops momentum. Since the swing has very low speed. Its almost as if... the paddle and baseball system transfers the kinetic energy of the total mass of the bat to the ball. But then as the paddle hits the stop... it transfers its energy back to the bat... which then starts to move again. lol... not very efficient... but also very interesting for sure! Great video!
