Your videos seem to be the first ones to show on CZcams and even google search. So I want to thank you for all the great information that you have been putting out. I just purchased the AquaClear 30 today and I like it so much I think I am going to buy another one. I also purchased another filter from one of your videos called the Deep Blue Professionals Nano Filter. I have it on my 2.5g Betta Tank and I must say it is so much better for him than I thought. It runs so smooth he can even still blow his bubble nests! He's on his third nest now. haha. But anyways I appreciate it keep it up man! Subscriber for good.
when u notice the flow of the filter go down unplug the filter empty it disemble it remove the impeller / propeller look to see if covered in brown slime or built up waste if so scrub it clean and wash it off then put it back in the motor then get the intake tube take the filter guard off put the nose of the tap to the open tube turn the tap to full power and watch the waste build up fly out in chunks reasemble filter wash out filter media in declorinated water so that it is clean add to filter then add filter to tank and start it up and watch work like new😈😅
Which is better aqueon 10 or aqua clear 30? I have both I use the ac30 on a 6/7 gal the aqueon 10 i have it on the side for now not in use cause i brought the ac 30 for $5 bucks used the aqueon 10 i brought it new and only used it for a couple months
I have both filters. The aqueon is self-priming because the pump unit is submerged on the intake stem, which also makes ALL the heat from the motor go into the tank ( saving some money on heating the aquarium), and it's harder to clean; but the aquaclear has more options on media selection and a variable flow. They're both great filters from reputable companies, but I think the aquaclear has the edge.
The problem with the AquaClear is that if the power goes off, the filter will often stop and not restart. I prefer the Aqueon because it will restart by itself after a power outage, preventing loss of filtration leading to ammonia spikes and fish death. There are many times the power goes off for just a second or two and if you aren't home or don't .check your filter, it is a problem.
The Aqueon should be quieter since the motor is in the water and the AC motor is outside the tank. Both seem quiet to me though, once they are broken in, so to speak.
@@Fredsreviews58 In my case motor is not audible. But I had a problem due to small vibration from it and this vibration was passed to the aquarium wall, and then to the table. I have gotten low frequency resonance. Got simple solution. Just remove bottom adjustable spacer. Find box with the same size as the filter, or narrower. Put the box under the filter and add some foam, could be filter foam 2cm(0.75inch I hope), just to balance it horizontally. Also some thin foam under the filter body on the top of the edge of the aquarium glass. And after that you get almost zero noise. I have more noise from bubbles. As an extra upgrade. Possible to put inside near the pipe a air stone with some air and make small shift of the pipe just to get small recircullation in the filter. You will get an extra oxygen for filter bacteries.

Good video comparison. Ive tried aquaclear in the past and decided to try aqueon and am noticing after 2 years the aqueon started to loose its flowrate. I also dont like how when its time to change filter media i hate having to throw away the good bacteria on the aqueon. Missing aquaclear and just a few days ago i had cleaned out the aqueon and after i cleaned it it started to make a loud sound and then i left it off for one night and the next day i plugged in the aqeon and now it dosent want to to turn on anymore. So as of now im trying to decide if i should go back to aquaclear or aqueon :/...I like how aqueon has the ammonia removal stage and liked how the aqueon airated the water hmm... i have a 40 gallon breeder tank with one parrot cichlid and had the aqueon 50. Any suggestions?
LightWorker Labs Thanks. Aquaclear is superior imo to all the other hob filters, as it kind of acts like a small canister filter. You can buy ammonia remover media for it or ammonia remover/carbon mix instead of just carbon.

Gray Sea Aqua clear is my favorite brand, and the one I'd recommend. I don't know why a sponge would hurt a goldfish, it just filters the poop and other waste in it.

I have an Aqueon on my 20 gallon and I hate it! At first it was nice and quiet.... then it went downhill from there. The impeller vibrates like crazy! Even after cleaning the motor and impeller as per instructions from Aqueon, it still is noisy! I am debating on getting the Marineland Penguin and the Aqua Clear..... I'm am leaning towards the Aqua Clear.
i see the water is flowing over the compartments on your aquaclear..does this bypass mean that water isnt getting filtered.just coming in and straight out over the media

I like the marineland series of filters the best out of all of the HOB filters because of its superior biowheel. but my definite second is the aquaclear.
i don't like the aquaclear sponge, it dosen't catch as much debris as the marineland cartiages. The aquaclear biomedia is just the bag of ceramics rings compared to the more porous biowheels. Also some of the larger marineland HOB models have the extra media slot. I personally put bio media in this slot. I think if your experienced in this hobby and wanna maximize your filtration on your filter the marineland is your best option. But if your a beginners or a lazy person then aquaclear is your best bet.
The only thing i have on the marineland filters is that it's kinda annoying to maintain knowing how many parts it has and more annoying to assemble. Also the intake holes are to small to suck up big pieces of debris. I don't like how the carbon is attached to the cartiage because it can be annoying to medicate a tank with this. But aquaclear's are easy to use and are easily modifiable than the marinelands because the carbon is its own media part.
Soon Park The tank WAS NOT dirty, it was colored that way from driftwood I had in it BRO! Driftwood releases tannins in the water that turns it a tea yellow color, like how my tank was.
The Aqueon is garbage, We have one, came with a 10-gall tank and it's loud a fu*k, Can't wait to get rid of it, plus you need to keep buying cartridges for it, while the Aquaclear is customizable and it's real quiet, as well as producing cleaner water for your fish.

The Aqueon just pull out that cartridge and throw it away. Now pack that filter with what you want. Put a prefilter on the input also!
Same thing I mentioned on Amazon. Especially if you have the Aqueon 30-60 gallon filter, you can pack it with tons of media.

I would recommend an adjustable one, such as a marina or my favorite small hob, Deep Blue Professionals nano filter if you can find it.

Aceof2000Spades Aquaclear is always best as far as hang on backs go, imo. Aqueon is decent as well though.

you definitely aren’t supposed to rinse aqueon filter cartridges. and you need to clean the aqueon that’s why the flow is low is on the old one
