Thanks Terrence for that incisive breakdown. Talked to you a few years ago. My wife and I will be moving to the
Philippines in a few years, but not while my Mom is still alive. We will be probably be living in Cagayan de Oro
or Davao, but not in the city. My wife and a pastor started a mission called Feel & Teach Davao Children in 2013.
We will be involved in that work to some degree, but I am 78 now, so I'll do what I am able. Perhaps we will meet
up some day. You both are very special to us. Grace to you always John Andrade ⚓

Good to hear from you John.
Our best wishes for your plans to relocate and especially your mission to help children. If you were following us during our problem years you will know to follow the Philippine paper trail to avoid the harassment Beth and I suffered back then. Sad to say helping and changing lives in the community can bring much negativity so be prepared.
You can do it! We've had everything thrown at us and we're still here.💪💪🙏🙏😁
      God bless.
      Terence..
Ps. You can always PM me on messenger😁

The Filipino way is to live for The Now. Especially if your wife is from the province and coming from what I call a One Egg economy, meaning you can go to a Sar Sari store and buy one egg -- just for today and it's not unusual. Beth and I recently had the ''being hit with everything" period. My pension was stopped and huge bills arrived coinciding in a perfect storm!
It didn't worry my island girl one bit. She smiled and said, "we'll be fine'' and somehow we got through it, with a little help from our friends 😁

@jerrystanley6820--- how do you feel about giving your girlfriend $100 a month to spend however she sees fit including helping her family or shortages just as you mentioned? That way, if her family asks for help or if there are shortages in funding, tell them your gf is in charge. You could also tell your gf she can help whomever she wants or spend the money as she pleases. Whatever is left, it's hers to keep. When she runs out, she runs out! This is probably easier said than done, but that's how budgeting works. Also, how about telling your gf you need a couple of days to think about an outing she's recommending, so you can check your budget in private. By not deciding on the spot you're also training your gf that she can't just pressure you into making financial decisions you later regret. It sounds like you've trained her otherwise. You may have to talk to her in advance to let her know that this is how you want to handle finances in the future. If she complies, you'll both be happy. If she doesn't, then you have a decision to make. Of course, $100 budget presumes you're paying for all the living expenses.

@rogerchrisman-- It would be interesting to know what she says your cost her in the 17 years your were together. I'm not siding with her at all. I'm just curious because I hear men distill the years of marriage into dollars and cents. Women do it by number of years lost.
