#soundgarden #letmedrown - Hudba
“I think I’ve heard all the hot shit.” Nope, not even close 😂
"The Day I Tried To Live" is the Soundgarden song LIV would like
I love all their music and that STILL might be my favorite.
And My Wave
And Spoonman
Times of trouble
"Heard all the hot shit".....
Ain't gonna lie, kinda broke my heart to hear him say that. Dude, you got a long way to go and I have watched the channel for years.
The Day I Tried to Live is the only song by Soundgarden (beside Outshined) that I think EVERYONE likes. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned more.
I'm not even sure that's the way to go for them. Spoonman is the one.
Spoonman is not that great sounded like filler song to me
I’m just not sure they’re gonna be soundgarden fans. It’s dark and gloomy
@@williamgordon4610 AiC is their favorite grunge band so...
How are people not recommending Burden in my Hand? Great song, great lyrics, and one that Ryan and George would probably like
100% agree. That would have been one of the first suggestions for Soundgarden period
Yeah, I am very confused as to why Let me Drown and Slaves & Bulldozers are requested before Burden in my Hand or Day I tried to Live, etc.
Fresh Tendrils!!!!!
I find that one kinda boring.
because it's an extremely mediocre song as far as Soundgarden goes
Soundgarden - 'The day I tried to live'... 'Burden in my hand' ... 'Fresh tendrils' ... 'Pretty noose' ... 🔥🔥🤘🤘
Mind Riot
You guys in the comments need to read the room before making suggestions. Suggest what you think Ryan and George are actually gonna like based on their channel history instead of just listing your personal favorite songs which are usually too "deep cut" for new listeners to enjoy. The next Soundgarden songs these guys would definitley be into are: "Blow up the Outside", "Pretty Noose", "Day I tried to Live" and "Spoonman" - no question. Once they get into those then they will be able to appreciate their other songs more
Agreed. They’re not really paying attention. I think room a thousand years wide is a better suggestion for them.
They’ll definitely like what I chose
You’ve hit the nail on the head. They do it with every band because they want to avoid suggesting the more mainstream bangers because for maybe their cred as a fan. You need to ease people into new genres and groups though like you said.
i'd like to see how they take some of Cornell's solo album cuts tbh. show a different side of his craft.
My wave
Slaves and Bulldozers is my favorite of theirs. It's also the last song They performed live
And also the next track after Outshined! Slaves & Bulldozers!
I didn't know that.
and it totally sucks. Always has. I was not surprised by their reaction AT ALL
@@HextimusDuex go listen to "black hole sun" again
@@bmeach4940Followed by "Jesus Christ Pose". One of the best four-song openers on any album ever.
Soundgarden is an acquired taste. I love them.
This 💯
SuperUnknown is a banger ass album. Keep listening to it. Not all music gives instant gratification but it can reward you more, later.
That last sentence describes 4 out of 6 of SG's studio albums to a T.
“Like Suicide” is a great song. Y’all should check that out
Best song EVER
Love that song. But they wouldn't. Too many people in this comment section keep recommending songs that they aren't going to like...
@@Squatch_11 plus they would love the progression of every instrument in this song, the guitar solo as well.
@@Squatch_11 how are you so sure they wouldn’t like it?
Superb.
“Mailman”. Same album. One of the heaviest and simultaneously grooviest songs on that album, or even in their entire catalog. Knowing how much you guys like Sabbath, that would be the one to do.
'Tighter & Tighter' is the bluesiest song they ever did, check it out.
100% this. Bluesy, moody and dark, with incredible vocals by Chris (as always)
omg...my favorite Soundgarden song.
Appreciate George shouting out Chris’s vocal ability and controlled high notes. Yes, he did damage his voice due to overuse, addiction, and unhealthy technique, so he wasn’t able to hit those super high notes later in his career, but my god could he still sing.
Toward the end of his life his voice had this really tender, raw, haunting quality. Not quite as technically powerful as it had been in the past, but every bit as capable of packing an emotional punch. One of the greatest to ever do it. RIP Chris.
Cool story about Slaves & Bulldozers - Rick Rubin played the song for Tom Morello, Brad Wilk & Tim Commerford to show them Chris’s vocal range, solidifying him as their choice of vocalist for Audioslave
Why did they need to be shown Chris' range? How did they not know?
I don’t buy the fact that they never heard the song before
"Fresh Tendrils" is my favorite from this album but "Spoonman" is definitely the obvious choice for reaction.
Wow, mine too. Very underrated song
underrated and glorious track
Room a Thousand Years Wide is one of my favorites by Soundgarden. Worth a listen.
Room a Thousand Years Wide
Searching with My Good Eye Closed
Somewhere
A man of taste
Too many damn people just have no idea what they're doing when they request a particular song by a group. Yes, I get it, it's YOUR favorite. But you're already deep into them with no hope of getting out. You don't throw the 'acquired taste masterpiece' to someone who isn't necessarily huge into the group. You start them off with the more 'radio friendly' stuff. The songs that blew up, because they blew up for a reason. After, sure, you can make a breadcrumb trail to the esoteric stuff, but I mean come on....
What I would kill to see reacted to would be 'Chris Cornell - When I'm Down - Troubadour' where he basically just sings jazz / blues to a piano, live. It's just FIRE.
Damn right brother! I just said the exact same thing... People don't know how to read a room
For real. Saw one person last time suggest people were trollin them. I've noticed that it's becoming a pattern. Fell on Black Days, Black Hole Sun, and Spoonman were played on the radio constantly back in the day. Like you said, for a reason, they were the most accessible.
They’ve been doing this for 7 years, and they’re still judging songs based on the criteria they came in with. It’s like Ryan commenting, yet again, that because Chris(and almost every other vocalist) is coloring the melody line he’s using, with notes that may not typically be there, or that it’s different from his(Ryan) expectations of him/them.
I’m really surprised one of them didn’t say something about the solo section. I thought for sure hearing Chris playing over Kim, was gonna be the last straw. I have no idea why they ended up liking it. Do you?
@@downwardisheavenward3006 No, not really. I was surprised, too. Honestly, I think it's a pretty mid track by soundgarden. I also happen to LOVE the song bulldozers and slaves, but no way in hell I'd recommend it to someone.
Sooooo....what makes your request any different LMAO
Who doesn't like Rusty Cage???
Exactly what I was thinking.
Holy shit!! I’m so glad you’re doing more Soundgarden! I’ve been on a major kick with them lately and am currently learning this one on guitar!! It’s such a heavy one, but so so good!! Much love to you guys!
A few songs of theirs that I think y’all would really get into would be Rhinosaur, Rusty Cage, Limo Wreck, Blow Up the Outside World, and The Day I Tried to Live.
People need to stop suggesting songs like Limo Wreck and Slaves and Bulldozers. Those are songs that need buildup from listening to Soundgarden regularly. You can’t go in cold.
They like upbeat songs with a good melody or catchy chorus.
4th of July is on the borderline I would say. Just cause it’s so heavy.
This is a great take. Within this context my next pick might be something like My Wave, Burden in My Hand, Blow Up the Outside, Mailman, or The Day I Tried to Live
Na they need to stop being so critical and enjoy the music. Sometime that shit irks me. This entire album is certified fire.
Right. I love Limo Wreck but that took years. I am still astounded people suggested Slaves & Bulldozers so often. That's like... I saw a reaction channel try The Beatles exactly once because they start with a shitty live version of Revolution 9. Like... way to go internet. Ya gotta start em on "Dont Let Me Down" or something.
@@dyllansells6687 wrong. Stop being so critical? What does that even mean? Slaves and Bulldozers is certified shit. Always has been.
Slaves and Bulldozers brings me SO back to first and second yr university. One of my favourite songs by soundgarden.
"The Day I Tried to Live" is phenomenal.
Fresh Tendrils is one of my favorites off this album. A hidden deep track that's a gem.
👏👏👏
the way Ryan described, how the channel got him into metal/rock & it opened his music exploration in this genre..how it don't "blow you away" but it's still something you can groove to..I think that's everyone (as I know I went through the same thing coming from hiphop of the 90's) when we finally understand, why ppl love rock. You start hearing past the distortion that initially turns you off & realize, oh ya.. it's just as deep & beautiful as any genre out there.
Mailman by SG!!!
That's why I've always liked them: they don't sound like anybody else. The guitarist makes a lot of interesting choices; definitely an acquired taste.
"Burden in my hand" would be a good one. Great opening line
Kim Thayil noted that early Soundgarden was as atonal as they could get and you hear that in albums pre-Superunknown. Superunknown and Down on the Upside are probably more accessible.
King Animal, too is a lot more melodic with more "mainstream" song structures. i love their pre-Superunknown stuff, but it can be quite grungey, sludgey and what you might call very unconventional as far as melodies or songwriting.
@@locustkllr I hate that album so they would probably like it!
@@locustkllr that album is mostly a stinker, as to be expected after a twenty year layoff
It’s under the radar, but Tighter and Tighter is one of their most incredible songs and had a groove and songwriting that the homies would like. DO TIGHTER & TIGHTER
30 MIN AGO? wow I haven't watched you guys in a long time and I recommended this a while back, awesome man. This whole album is incredible, this is one of the best tracks
You guys need to listen to ALL of Slaves and Bulldozers, it is an amazing song. Cornell's possibly best vocal performance ever.
ABSOLUTELY!!!
I cannot believe they cut out on Slaves and Bulldozers... that song showcases some of the finest work Chris ever did with Soundgarden and they cut it off right before it went off. Sometimes I don't think these guys are in the right headspace to listen to songs. They form conclusions in such short amounts of time and it takes a heavy lift to get them to open up or change their mind. I feel like they used to be more spongy and less reactionary.
Agreed! My fav Soundgarden song!
Aka they sold out! Big time!
Nailed it. Too busy on this hustle. If they don't have time to give legendary artists the time they deserve and do it right, then don't do it at all I say. Say you don't like it, but do NOT bail on Soundgarden or Alice. C'mon guys. You've totally sold out.@@selinakyle2368
I'm an SG fan and I skip that song every single time. F that song. I hate it.
That's why I stopped with these guys. Honestly I feel like they don't even enjoy doing these videos anymore, they look bored most of the time. They only keep doing it cause it became a source of income for them
Guys you need to do the following SG song reactions please:
4th of July (One of their most unique songs)
Limo wreck (One of their most unique songs)
The Day I tried to live
Room a thousand years wide
Blow up the outside world
4th of July is my jam!!
Agreed!@@CaseyFraysier
and "pretty noose"
All good choices (Pretty Noose, too as mentioned).
Blow up the Outside World and They Day I Tried to Live
"My Wave" "Dont come over here, piss on my gate, save it, just keep it off my wave"
If this is more your speed for Soundgarden, you should listen to “Burden in my Hand”, excellent track
Y’all would love My Wave! Very Catchy
This whole album is 🔥🔥🔥 Y’all crazy as hell!
"My Wave" and "The day I tried to live" are probably Soundgarden songs you guys would like.
Great song, great voice. Just amazing, he was and is the best.
Lol you guys clearly don't "get" Soundgarden. Chris isn't just a vocalist. The dude was a very talented rhythm guitarist and alongside Kim they made a sound that's impossible to replicate. They're a little sabbath, a little bit of Seattle, and a whole lotta unique. No album sounds like the other. There's no uniform Soundgarden sound other than odd tunings, occasionally odd time signatures, the GOAT vocalist, and bitchin riffs.
I think there's a reason why they're probably the least commercially big band out of the big 4 of "grunge." They're not grunge at all lol. Songs like Mailman and 4th of July are bordering on doom.
People like what they like.
@@yarbgreat1exactly
Soundgarden definitely goes a lot harsher than the other grunge acts. For something catchier that's upbeat with a groove from them, I'd definitely go for "My Wave". For something that maybe has more of an Alice vibe, I'd go with "Limo Wreck".
RIP Legend Chris.
Spoon 🥄 Man is a must!!!!
If you guys don't like Spoonman, time to move on. If you do enjoy Spoonman, there are many more songs you'll like.
Bones of birds
been waiting for this album lets go
Please yall need to do Spoonman by soundgarden 😭😭
I think you guys would really like the drum grooves on "My Wave"... the track after "Drown Me" on Superunknown... some different time signatures throughout.
One of my favorites. Opener to the Superunknown record. Groovy and heavy, and Chris Cornell’s vocals are incredible.
This whole album is 🔥
Soundgarden isn't a band where you're going to love a song instantly. They grow on you like a fungus. 😁
I echo the recommendation for Like Suicude, but also get into My Wave and Fresh Tendrils. From the Badmotorfinger album, hit up Room A Thousand Years Wide for a mellower track
I think you guys would like Tighter and Tighter! One of their best underrated songs!
Audioslave would be more comfortable for the them.
Probably… Cochise, Like A Stone or Show Me How to Live
It does make sense.
Soundgarden-Nothing to say. Recorded in 1987. One of the first songs they ever recorded. You want heavy and sludgy. This is it. You’ll love it! Another song would be Flower. Two oldies from Soundgarden’s discography.
Thanks for this! I reckon you guys would rock with 4th of July from this album.
My second favorite song on that one. My favorite is Like Suicide !
I'm a HUGE Soundgarden fan and I will say I liked the very first song I heard from them and then my friend let me borrow their first album "Ultramega Ok" and I was kinda like "meh!" after a few more listens I really liked it, then I picked up their next album "Louder Than Love" and felt the same way, "meh!". It was different than the first but it too grew on me. "Badmotorfinger" hit me instantly, I felt that and so did "Superunknown", but I will say that my favorites off of "Superunknown" aren't the most popular songs. "Down On The Upside" was another "meh!", but again after giving those albums a re-listen, I like them all equally, but they all have a different vibe and I have to be in a particular mood for each one. If I'm in a "Superunknown" mood then "Ultramega Ok" isn't going to do it for me. Just saying, maybe give them a few more listens, I think you have to be in the right frame of mind to "hear" Soundgarden.
It got to be 4th of july of the same album. Watching you guys for 6 years, there’s no chance you not like that.
You guys need some Power Trip rawness in your life from Soundgarden’s first album. The range on Chris’ voice in that song is purely visceral.
Limo wreck or 4th of July would definitely be good choices for next time
Limo Wreck is one of my favorites and would make a great reaction, but is risky since we're trying to get them into SG
I think 4th of July would be a great choice
Agree with Limo Wreck, but given how quickly they sh*t on Slaves and Bulldozers, I don't trust them to vibe out to a slower paced song from that band. Ryan has very little patience for things that don't have a certain tempo unless it's a band he already likes and will be more open minded about.
Audioslave is just a better version of Soundgarden IMO
@@yonatanbalouka9182 Well that's the craziest thing I've heard in a while, but hey, you're free to be out of your mind. 🙂
One of the greatest albums of all time.
BEYOND THE WHEEL!
Got to do the live versions from the early 90s 🤘
@@house9Tube I prefer the studio version, Chris’s voice is much cleaner.
Cornell's vocal ability when he was at his peak was the Badmotorfinger album for sure just absolutely insane notes he hits. But as a full listen through experience Superunknown I always go back to from song to song it's just such a masterpiece 90's album. From this album I would recommend to you guys to react to either My Wave, Mailman, Superunknown, Limo Wreck, The Day I Tried To Live & 4th Of July \m/
This is one of the best openers of the 90s. Amazing song in every way.
Their heads bobbing to the Let Me Drown groove ❤️
AUDIOSLAVE - SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME
Bleed together!!
Im glad yall liked Let Me Drown. By Superunknown theyd mellowed out, and only a few songs on the album sound like classic SG to me. This being one.
I love quirky moody songs like Slaves and Bulldozers, but i like them for their unconventionality and oddness. Its a challenging listen but sounds really good to me. If its not your thing, its not your thing.
My favorite songs are ones like Hands All Over, Flower, Birth Ritual, Get on the Snake, Nothing to Say
Nothing to Say is a great recommendation
Room a thousand years wide is the best track to check out-based on what I believe to be your favorite aspects of the genre and a highlight in their catalogue
Not a particularly deep cut, but think you may enjoy “Tighter & Tighter” - more classic rock in feel, brilliant lyrics, breathtaking vocal performance and screaming solo. In my top 3 Soundgarden tracks [alongside Zero Chance & Mailman: Zero Chance is my favourite, but much like Marty McFly said in Back to the Future, ‘you just aren’t ready for it yet’ 😅]
I wish they were more into Soundgarden. Glad they liked this one -- hope they check out more.
*brief pause* "That'll work!" 🤣🤣🤣
Ya we're just different people, I love literally every one of those songs you mentioned in the beginning 😂 Is what it is lol
This is the attitude we actually need.
Man every time i get back to Cornell i am just like... god damn. Rip.
“Exploder” from Audioslave. I think you’ll dig it.
When I’m down!
Hell Yeah 👍🏼
A lot of rock and metal really takes multiple listens to appreciate.
Spoonman is an obvious request but do think you guys will enjoy it
'Gun' from their 'Louder Than Love' record is one I never see recommended.
Funny thing, I was listening to this album tonight at work & thinking about what would the Vegas guys think? You are the first reaction channel I have ever seen & the first song was "War Pigs" I remember seeing it & saying "I have to see what they think about it" Sabbath is one of my favorite bands. I have been a fan ever since. Great show you guys have.
Love this song!
that entire album rules
Slaves & Bulldozers is a favorite among Soundgarden fans, which I'm sure is why it gets a lot of requests. It's a showcase of Cornell and what he can really do on vocals, as well as of course the band and their more heavy side. It pretty much is them going off. Your reaction to the minute or so of the song reminded me of your reaction to Dream Theater - Metropolis part 1. That song also is a fan favorite and it was also a showcase of the band going off but you clearly weren't ready for it.
I really don't think it's about them being ready for anything. They don't like what they don't like. They're never gonna be in love with 99% of death growling out there, and I'd bet they are not gonna like things that are super atonal and out of key whether that's considered by fans as going off or not. Ryan is clear on this "does the shit sound good?" No it does not, not to them. It's like saying people aren't ready for cilantro and they gotta build up to it... nah dog if you don't like it you don't like it.
4th of July, Limo Wreck
This whole album is a masterpiece
I would suggest Birth Ritual. One of Cornell’s greatest vocal performances.
They didn’t publish (apparently) my blow up the outside world comment. Definitely top 2 song!
Telling these guys what to do is hilarious this their show

always remember pre youtube it was never about finding gems .
Blow up the outside world is one of my fav soundgarden songs has that trippy meets Beatles like tone meets hard rock that black hole sun also had
Dudes! 4the of July, from soundgarden! That song is epic in a dragging haunting sludging way.
Thank you for covering my favorite band, Soundgarden! Chris Cornell has the greatest voice of all time.
