I was always intrigued by the what people termed "heavy". If the guitar wasn't turned up to 10, if the tempo wasn't fast enough, it wasn't "heavy". Black Sabbbath never played a lot of fast songs, high BPM, but they were heavy. Heavy is tone. Heavy is mood. Heavy is atmosphere. Black Sabbath was heavy. Soundgarden was heavy. When the song needed it, it was heavy.

I was lucky enough to see SG 3X's; the first at Lallapalooza in '92 and the last in 2013 for their first reunion at the Tower in Philly. The best, however, was in 1996 at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, when they were def. at the top of their game. I must say his was the only time I ever shed a tear for a celebrity passing. RIP brother🙏

Chris' death hit many hard including me. Saw SG first in 1994 at the Big Day Out in Melbourne Australia and the last time in 2011 at the SMMB and several times inbetween. Will never forget. Words and music that got me. Understood how I felt und unapologetically belted it out.
Cheers to all the good f9lk of humanity. And to the bad folks, get your sh1t together and get on board. We're here waiting patiently for you to come in from the cold.

Room a thousand years wide is also one of their greatest songs (in my opinion). Love the channel!

The song that introduced me to Cornell’s tremendous talent, in 1991. I have been a fan of his since.
Lots of people miss u Chris. I’m certainly one of them.

Your channel reminds me of those great radio shows that don't exist anymore. You know the one where you have the DJ with the great voice talking about each song and really understanding the performers. Man, I can't believe we lost that kind of thing. I may have to hang out here for awhile, ha ha.

It's a heavy-hearted song, that's for sure, but I always get a chuckle anytime I watch the bit at 3:24 in the video. He flings sand up at exactly the moment when he's vocalising and it sounds like he's screaming "OWWW" from getting in his eyes or something. Purely coincidence but it lightens things up.

That bit always makes me laugh! Don't get sand in your eyes... Cause I'd "OOOWWW!!!" too. Lmao

Chris said what he meant about looking California and it's not about looking chill as the line goes I'm looking in the mirror and things aren't looking so good. Looking California for him means stupid that's what he said once in interview. RIP Chris the best voice for all time .

A great song from one of my favorite bands, thanks for the reaction. I especially love your speech at the end concerning depression.
I've been there, was treated for over seven years with therapy and medication. One day I said to myself, " I'm sick of feeling like this. I'm not the only one is this world with problems. I need to count my blessings and move forward." And with that I was discharged.
Anyone reading this with depression and anxiety, I just want you to know that if can overcome it, SO CAN YOU!

This song is about Andy Wood of Mother Love Bone. Chris thought this guy "outshined" him as an performer..
We know its not true but Andy is a legend to the Seattle guys for sure!
