  • @codybrackett812
    @codybrackett812 Před 3 lety +5

    So 1 second 0-60 improvement. That’s actually impressive for a bolt on mod. Add exhaust & CAI & it’ll probably shave .5 sec off that time .

  • @tannerparrish3807
    @tannerparrish3807 Před 5 lety +14

    From my observations, the performance mode really just improved the top end acceleration, you can tell when you do the 0-100 in performance compared to stock, I think if you have that on top of say an intake some headers, a performance exhaust and especially smaller tires, those big tires have a lot to do it, it might be 80lbs but it’s rotational mass so it’s ALOT more for the truck itself than just 80lbs

  • @kurtlehman5150
    @kurtlehman5150 Před 5 lety +8

    Nice video man. Remember, your truck is turning more mass with the larger tires, which is definitely affecting your personal times. I'm sure you don't care as I wouldn't, as your setup with the level, spacers, and tires looks perfect imo.

    I've got a 2016 Stinger Yellow R1500 4x4 fully loaded.
    I drive it only when I come home once a month. It's stays parked in my garage and it only has 11,480mi on it as of now. Still HAS that new car smell inside, since it's kept out of the sun ⛅.
    I absolutely Love ❤️ this truck and enjoy talking it out when I get home.
    If I wouldn't have taken it up to Wyoming these past 2 Summers the truck would only have around 3100 miles. But it was worth the miles. It was soooo comfortable in the 1100 trip. Heck, one day I drove it almost 900 miles on a single day, which I wouldn't have been able to do in an average vehicle.
    As you can tell, I'm a HUGE RAM HEMI LOYALTY CUSTOMER.

    0 100 you shouldn't put it in 4wd. It's hard on the transfer case and sucks up horsepower. If you put a cold air intake and exhaust you would help your pulsar out a lot. The pulsar needs more air to dump more fuel into it.

  • @elifernandez3769
    @elifernandez3769 Před 4 lety +1

    You need a custom tune to really wake these trucks up. My 4 door 2016 ram will do 0-60mph in 4.92 seconds in 4wd according to my Diablosport Trinity T2. I've got a couple bolt-ons and a custom tune from Greene Racing. In 2wd it'll spin ALL of first gear. If you want to see real gains get yourself a custom tune! I ran the diablosport tune for a while and could barely tell a difference, the tires would chirp a little more on take off and that was about it. But once I got the custom tune if I stomp it this thing will burn the tires up!!!!! And if I happen to get traction in 1st gear it'll chirp the tires switching to 2nd gear. It's super fun to drive!! Its damn fast, it's faster than a 2005 Nissan 350z that had a cold air intake and exhaust. Beat it by like 2 car lengths.. I've never gone back to the stock tuning. Its also a 93 octane tune.

    There is no question the $500 mod, Pulsar Tuner, you put on to give your more performance did in fact give you just that. You gained almost 1 second 0-60 and almost 4 seconds 0-100. in the drag world or even the 1/2 milers is substantial! This was a good review but your experience in mods vs. numbers analogy is pretty skewed but keep up the good work and dig more into the comparisons as in compare it, the tuner to other tuners or with other things such as Tuner + CAI or Tuner + CAI+ CAT Delete and so on and so forth. I have the same RAM. but in 2-wheel drive w/Pulsar+B2 Fabrication Res Delete + S&B CAI. I will tell you, the difference after 500 miles of letting PCM relearn everything has been noticeably substantial. Add full tubes, cam, and Mr. Greens tune to a Diablo tuner, now were talking. Good job young man overall!

    I'm not really sure at what point these trucks drop to 4 cylinders. Is it on the highway only? I put an exhaust on my truck so far and it sounds awesome but then sometimes it's quiet so I can't tell if it's because of how it drives or if it's dropping 4. I guess my point is if it's always using 8 it should be louder all the time so the pulsar can help with that I suppose.

Considering the 2" lift, the extremely heavy tires ( also oversized) vs the stock I'm impressed with the 0-60. I have the 19 Laramie with stock tires and you can't start without spinning tires unless you baby the pedal. My best 0-60 was 6.9 on a damp farm road, 4wd on, tcs off, 3.23 gears and 33" AT tires. It's definitely an improvement, but is it with the $$? For me it was. Trucks paid for. why do you need 392 gears with the 8 speed transmission.. how low do you want to go?? Example if you had the GM 400 turbo 3 speed transmission. you would need lower than 600 gears in the rear to equal the 1st gear in the ram with 321 gears and the 8 speed transmission...really that's not low enough?
