Your 100% spot on with all your points at the beginning, except, as others have pointed out, there were plenty of guns back then, just gun violence was much more rare. Another great video! Thanks!

I have read a good deal of criticism about the lifestyle of adults in the 1920's. Consider the fact that many of those people most likely had to work very hard growing up, some were sent off to World War I, and they also had to go through a Pandemic. I imagine many thought their life could/would end at a young age. I can understand why they wanted to have a good time. Thank you for another excellent video.

This is a case of a rosy retrospection. People dying from things that are easily treated today...like kidney problems, polio, measles ect... people living in slum conditions. The great depression. Just to mention a few.

You beat me to it. Sadly, this movie is among the vast majority of films from the silent era that are now lost.

Regarding the pic of the "woman changing a car tire".....I think that it proves only that photographers in the 1920s were quite innovative in the situations they staged for their cameras.

You identified the "Crowds in front of Loews State Street Theater" as 1921. The Movie "Easy Come Easy Go" starring Richard Dix was a 1928 movie released in 1928. Could not be in 1921.

There were plenty of guns then. The judicial system punished those who used them illegally. They didn't punish law abiding citizens like they do today.
